Ok well this is also long over due if you will let me quote myself


Ok New app and Updated this took alot of work for me and Echelo to do,alot of coding ect But first off,I like to give credit to Echelo for helping without him this app would of took me ages lol.
I like to thank unknown V2 for finding the encryption.
And GoldBl4de For helping me with binary reading/Writing so thx man:)

This app will open your con file decrypt the save edit what you want edited then re-encrypts then rehash so you got everything here.

And this will not edit your orig save instead your modded save will be in a folder call modded ff13 save inside the ff13 folder.So extract from rar and watch the magic.

There is a few things I added,A new hashing class so in other words you don't have to use another hashing program to fix the your save this will work all in one I added some other stuff in code:p Anyway This is the last version (XI.0.0.0.0)So I hope you guys in enjoy it pce.

When I go to Save the changes I made to the save editor, I get this "Unhandled exception" message below with picture.

Quick question, what other programs use the KV.bin, because i JUST logged into my computer, and when I went to go change some stuff around on my save file, it gave me the same message again.

Not that I've seen and I'm almost finished a full playthrough with my modded save. One thing to watch out for though is that adding the rare items may overwrite some other items. I went to check my weapons and 2 of my characters had super ribbons equipped in the weapon slot, lol.

hey guys. whehn i try to use the editor it says that its all signed and hashed. then when i load it up. it doesnt add the mods to the game at all.
yes i have deleted the save file from the usb before i inject it back into it and still no joy :(

Actually i had the same problem until i fully read the first post that says this editor will create a modded save in a folder where the editor is. so just look in the folder where u have the editor and there should be a folder that says modded ff13 save, in that folder is where the modded save is at, hope this helps

i have tried to use this editor for 30 munnites and it wont work i dont understand where the save goes after im done editing can anyone explain fully because this is really not my day today .... when im done editing where does the save go and why could it not just do the file u open why is this so complicated man just had to be different i quess... just to make others want to break their computer because its not doing what u say it should by chance do u have a older version that edit the save where ever u put it like the one that just maxes magic and power

okay ill try to explain but not very good at it here goes:
1. After u edit ur save and click file save the editor will say it has rehashed the save
2. Then u can close the editor
3. Then u need to go the folder or place where u downloaded the editor
4. When u are there, there should be a folder that say modded_ff13_save
5. In that folder is where the modded save is, that is the save that u put back into ur 360 using whatever method u used to get ur original save out of ur 360
6. U can do this by using modio or concept or usbxtaf, i use modio cause it is easy to use

Sorry if this is confusing but hope this helps and if not try sending genesis or sepiroth a private message and they should be able to help better than i can

i would make a vid but i dont know how, but if u downloaded the editor to the desktop:
1. When u extract the rar file it should make a folder on ur desktop named Final Fantasy 13
2. In that folder is the editor and the kv.bin
3. After u edit ur save close that editor
4. Go back into the Final Fantasy 13 folder
5. You should see a new folder that wasnt there before, thats named modded_ff13_save
6. Go into that folder and ur modded save should be there hope this helps

For me i manually put 999999 into each characters str and magic, i also unlock rare accessories with the editor so i could have the genji glove which increases the cap damage from 99999 to 999999 so every time i hit a badguy it did 999999 this is how high i got my damage which i believe is how high the damage goes but im sure when u fight the enemies that have more than 1 mil hp u probably will do more damage overall with each hit sense u hit a max of six times with a full atb gauge. but im still at the beginning of the game so cant test this out right now, hope this helps

yea i modded the game save for 5 star on all lcie missions but i cant get 5 stars on this mission where u figt this thing that comes out of SPHERE so i think game hates me :(

The only solution for that was to change the strength and magic to default value and fight that thing normaly,of course you need to have the ultimate weapon for all the characters. As for me I change the accessory that give me 100% damage defence and 100% status effect defence... put him down in 3.54 min....

can you do a save like that as soon as all the characters are available and upload it.
i'd like to mess around and 5 star the final boss and a few other missions, i still can't get a 5 star because all my characters were max level and best equipment (if i remember right the game shortens the time it need's to take the higher your level is and the better your equipment, i can't really remmember because it's been ages since i played it).

yeah the game does shorten the time the stronger u are and the better the equipment, also as for save it may take awhile because already beat this game on ps3 and just wanted to try to beat it with mods on 360 this time but i only play every once an awhile so im not sure how long it will take me to make this save. also im wondering why not just edit ur save with genesis editor.

Even with low level character,if you use the editor to change their stats the game still shorten the time to earn 5 stars.I try it many time and realize that it doesnt matter what level your characters are,if they are strong the game will shorten the time....I fight the last boss with moded character the game give me 16 seconds to earn 5 stars even with the Golden Watch...

OK, first off. This tool is not promised. I am just sharing this tool in case
anyone wants to have complete control of their inventory in FFXIII for Xbox360.
That being said, I offer no support for this tool. If you can't figure out how
to use it, don't ask me how. I will just guide you through how to use this tool
IN THIS README. Nothing more, nothing less. If you're lucky, other people may
be able to help you out. Again, I will not give any support of any form. If you
read this whole README and still having troubles, then move on and forget about
this tool or wait for some other more user-friendly ones.

Now for the how to part.

Before we begin, I suggest you learn how to open up your shell or command prompt
. Learn how to use it and familiarize yourself with it. Below are the checklist
you must do for this tool to work:

1. Extract your ff13-xx.dat save file from the CON package.
2. Decrypt that save file with ff13crypt by unknown v2.
3. Make a back up of that save somewhere anywhere.

Now that's out of the way, to use the tool, enter in command prompt:

ff13-invedit.exe -e ff13-xx.dat

Remember that you have to replace ff13-xx.dat with whatever save file you have.
The command above will extract all your inventory listing to an inventory.txt
file. This is the file that you must edit to edit your inventory. Once you open
this file you will see the following file structure:

[ITEMS]
<item_id>:<quantity>
[WEAPONS]
<weapon_id>:<equipped>:<level>:<multiplier>:<experience>
[ACCESSORIES]
<accessory_id>:<equipped>:<level>:<multiplier>:<experience>
[COMPONENTS]

[END]

Explanation of each field:

[ITEMS], [WEAPONS], [ACCESSORIES], [COMPONENTS], [KEYITEMS], [END]
These are section headings. Do not modify these or you will not be able to
inject your inventory.txt back to your savefile.

<item_id>, <weapon_id>, <accessory_id>, <component_id>, <keyitem_id>
These are game ID's of the items. You can look it up at xbox360-content.com.

<quantity>
This is the number of the specified item you have in your inventory. I think
you can add up to 65535, but to be on the safe side, I suggest not going over
99.

<equipped> ===>>> DO NOT EDIT THIS VALUE!!!
This indicates whether the item is equipped or not. This will be '1' if equipped
or '0' if not. As I point out, DO NOT EDIT THIS VALUE! The purpose of this is
to let you know if you have that item equipped. If it is equipped, I suggest
not taking it out of your inventory. If you do, then I think your game will
crash. You can still modify the level, experience, and multiplier of any
equipped item just make sure to not delete them.

<level>
The level of the item. Not sure if it can go above 100. But when I tried to
set a maxxed Omega Weapon to level 1, it actually went to level 30+ -which is
its supposedly lowest level.

<multiplier> ===>>> ONLY SET TO EITHER: 1.0, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0, 3.0
As mentioned in the warning, only set to the above numbers or the tool will
crash? Or so I think... I can fix this, but I am lazy.

<experience>
I am not sure how this affects the game. But you can set it at most 4 bytes.
So max experience is 4294967295.

Now that you are done editing your inventory.txt, it's time to put it back
to your savefile. To do so, enter:

ff13-invedit.exe -i ff13-xx.dat

Before doing the above command, make sure your inventory.txt is in the same
folder or the tool will crash.

There! All done. Now encrypt your savefile with ff13crypt and inject the
savefile back to the CON package. Re-hash, then put back to HDD/MU.

If you can't run the tool, the source is included. I always write using
standardized C/C++ so it will compile across any compilers.

Yeah that 1 ways of doing it,but even with edited accessories it will take about 2.00 or 3.00 minutes to defeat the stronger quest and that final quest is a pain..if you ask me because of that barrier thing...

to your savefile. To do so, enter:

ff13-invedit.exe -i ff13-xx.dat

Before doing the above command, make sure your inventory.txt is in the same
folder or the tool will crash.

There! All done. Now encrypt your savefile with ff13crypt and inject the
savefile back to the CON package. Re-hash, then put back to HDD/MU.

If you can't run the tool, the source is included. I always write using
standardized C/C++ so it will compile across any compilers.

Yes it does,anything that gonna affect the characters stats(str/mag) will shorten the time given to earn 5 stars....sadly

Just confirmed it while ago,I make accessory(Kaiser Knuckle) with knocking 99999999 str and the game cut the time short for earning 5 star....

Okey I need help here,I don have any poblem with this editor before...but somehow I just can get it to open any of the save anymore...
It kept giving me the error message and this is what it say

I'm having a bit of an issue with the Ragnarok portion of the tool. Is there a certain point in the game you have to get to before the "Unlock Crystarium" will actually work? I used it at the very beginning of the game and it worked, but once everyone became L'Cie, their crystariums were locked again. I started a new game, played until they became L'Cie, and tried unlocking it after that, and it still doesn't unlock all levels. I get the message that says now you can harness the full power of L'Cie etc, and can access all roles etc, but it only gives each character access to 5 roles instead of all 6, and you can't actually advance any farther then the first role in each. The only thing I want to do is unlock the crystarium so I can level up at any time, without the cap at certain parts in the story. I can post a video of what I'm talking about if anyone is confused by it. Thanks to anyone who can help me here.

There is the save. If possible, would you be able to make the editor just unlock the crystarium without actually maxing it? As weird as it sounds, I actually like the level grinding; I just don't like that it caps how much I can level at any given point, and that I can't unlock most abilities until late in the game. If not, no big deal. Thanks!

Was wondering if it is possible to edit the stats of the eidolons so lets say if you used zantetsuken the instant death ability could be used on any amount of hp and it would not affect your battle time or are the summon's stats not stored on the save file? And if not could you edit something on the save file that would affect the stats i.e changing the crystarium number greater then 10? I already tried changing the role level greater then 5. It works but nothing happens to the eidolons stats.

The following steps must be followed in order for this to work (BTW - These are the steps I use, so they may not match everyone else).

1. Get a USB Thumb/Pen Drive and utilize it to copy the save from your Xbox 360 to the external drive.
2. I use USBXTAFGUI_v44 to extract the save to my PC desktop.
3. I then use the FF XIII editor to change the values to what I want and then click save.
4. REMEMBER the save is put into a folder called modded_ff13_save.
5. I copy this save to the desktop (overwriting the original one).
6. I then use Modio to rehash/resign and save the file to the external usb device (again overwriting the original).
7. Finally load the save when your playing FF XIII.

Be aware that the give rare items will overwrite the original items you have so its best to do this ONCE and at the very beginning of the game. The other give items code is all you need to beat the game and get the best weapons.

If you need more assistance you can email or PM me and I will help you out. Secondly I have a FF XIII save set on this site at the very beginning that some of you traditional players might find useful. I have provided steps on how to load that save in the thread it is located in.

Anyone noticing you can't use summons sometimes after using the editor to unlock them all? Idk maybe it's something I did but it happens a lot where I cant use summons. Anyone else run into this problem and if so is there a way to fix it? I can use em sometimes but then after I unlock a new characters summon I cant use the other people's summon anymore. Weird.. And anyone noticed after you use the editor your main settings change? Like brightness goes to brightness+2 which I found odd and everything else gets changed around. I only had it on default before.

This editor is very good! but I ran into some problems using one of my games, hunts and cingetos Raktavija, if I modify the parameters of str. and mag. of my pjs,
I never get the 5 stars than 4, even if you kill these enemies in 2 or 3 seconds.

to one the same thing has happened to you?. For the other things, items, gil, crystalum, etc ... work 100%

Just want to let you know I had some trouble with this and Modio. The modded file saved fine to the computer. But after transferring it to USB and back to the the xbox the save file would appear but not be read. I transfered it back to see if something was wrong and... well, every stat was "-164992746" or something to that effect. Everything (gil, strength, experience, Creisalarium points, etc.) was negative and in the 10-100 millions. Even the progress was gone; where it said what chapter and place before there was nothing at all.

I fixed it using the Horizon program. That seemed to work fine for putting it back on the USB.

Not sure if it was just a hick-up or what. But I figured I should let you know. Other than that, wonderful editor. Very simple and easy to use. Have a great day!

You probably can solve this problme if you use 32 bit OS, not 64 bit.

I mean you have to use another computer which is 32 bit. ^^.

OK. Here is what I did.

First trial was using my old computer, which is 32 bit computer.
And the result was good.

Second trial was using VirtualBox (Window XP 32 bit Installed) on my new computer, which is 64 bit computer.
The result was good. Look at the image I put.
Left side is on VirtualBox.
Right side is on my 64 bit computer.

If it doesn't work for you, I suggest you'd better try this on other computers.

I had thee same issue as dreadoom. Here is what I did that seemed to give me proper mod:

1. Move the save from xbox to USB.
2. Use Horizon to open the USB.
3. Extract the save file to the desktop.
4. Delete the save file that is on the USB. (Important, do not just save over the previous file. This is where I believe it messed up for me.)
5. Open the save editor and open the save file just saved to the desktop.
6. Modify the file how you wish. (I just gave lots of Crysogen points, Gil, and unlocked the items/stores)
7. Save the file, which puts the modded save in the modded save folder.
8. Close the editor.
9. Use Horizon to inject the modded file onto the USB. (Do Not Rehash/Resign, the editor has done that!)
10. Move the file back from the USB to the Xbox storage.

My problem seemed to be with modio and not deleting the file off the USB. After that, I have done it a good 10 times using the method I posted above and it has worked fine sense.

As i have noticedsome have had problems and most have not. I however have ran into a few things or problems some like others and some not. I have had the game freeze on me the next battle after getting eidolon odin but was bale to fix the problem by not using the ragnarak option in editor. This time around however im getting a freeze during the first battle of disk 2 nothing to do with eidolons. So im wondering what the problem is. Any suggestions?

Nevermind on the problem i figured it out while reading other forums about FF13 freezes and it was all do to my atb lvl being over 6 so fixing it now hope it works.

This helped out at first, but lately i cant re-edit my file. The times you need to do the missions for gets very hard when you got maxed strength due to strength scaling wierdly because the devs didn´t want people to overkill them.

This is the problem I am running into when using this save editor. I extract the save with Horizon. Then I open the save with the editor and edit my save. I don't go over the top with the characters stats at all. I then save and take the modded save and "Inject" the file into the game save. I check to make sure the contents of the package is in the save file, and when I do, the contents are gone. When I plug the usb back into my Xbox to load the save, the game save with load but then return to the title screen. So I repeat the process again with the back up save I put on my computer, extract game save using Horizon, opening the save with FFXIII save editor, edit the characters I have unlocked, save, inject the modded save into the file on USB, and still same results with bringing back to the Title screen after I load the game. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there anyone who can help with the problem I am having?
