Anyone here played Earth defense force 2017?

Who here likes giant monster movies? Who here likes stories where Earth gets invaded by aliens? Who here likes to play a soldier in a massively destructible environment fighting off the invaders? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then EDF 2017 you should check out.

This is one of my favorites titles for the 360 that doesn't get much attention since it's a budget title. It's worth giving a shot with over 150 weapons to find and over 40 levels to play and 5 difficulty level to choose from. You get hoards of bugs attacking you from the ground, waves of gunships hitting you from above, giant robots marching across the city and huge bosses.

The game also has a sequel called Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. The game just came out this month. It made many improvements to the 360 title such as online co-op and survival, more class variety to pick and over 300 weapons and DLC. This is also a budget title you can pick up for 40 bucks. copies of this game are scarce for this game in places like Game Stop so it's better to get it online. I want get the word out on how good the game is. Its a good game to play with your spouse or kids if you got any.

I have already hacked the credits for the newest game. It is awesome thus far. I want to try and hack more so people can hack some stuff but the game is perfect without hacking. Although some of the weapons are EXPENSIVE once you reach Rank 5. Hit me up if you want to play. I am sorta stuck on misson 5 from chapter 1 since my AI is horrible and keeps dying.

I loved this game when it was released on the 360. PS2 Graphics but the gameplay is hella addicting. I remember watching the movie "Starship Troopers" and EDF reminded me of that movie. Cheesy but fun.

Haha I tried playing this with my girlfriend but she doesnt like spiders so she would play it. I dont think the game is worth 40 buck or even 20 though its very low quality and shallow.

I'm was playing that too but it's way too short, only 15 stages compared to 50 stages on EDF 2017 which is alot of grinding to level each class. I almost maxed out my tactical class and leveled the other classes to 3 but suddenly derailed since "Catherine" came out.

15 levels is short compared to the first game but I think that's what Remix Mode and survival mode is for, to keep the game fresh. Plus playing online is more fun which is the feature the previous game didn't have a slightly better game.

i played the hell out of the original and have to say that the sequel is sorely lacking. the only thing that saves it from total neglect is its online co-op feature, something that everyone was begging for in the original. the original was way longer, better looking, had way more variety of environments instead of ONLY taking place in the city, had way more action on screen, had a better b movie feel to it, had better and more weapons and was just overall a much better game than insect armageddon which is sad because i had high expectations from this game when it was first announced. i think its funny that for some of the dialogue in "ia" they talk smack about the tokyo edf when they had to deal with a hell of a lot more crap than tf lightning ever had to. considering both games were the same price at release and edf 2017 came out years earlier and still outshines "ia" makes it even more sad. this game has rush job written all over it thinking theyd make a quick buck. also the voice acting was just plain bad. not just cheesy like in the original but just plain bad. bad voice acting doesnt automatically make it charming in a b-movie-ish kinda way. anyone who has played the original knows what i mean. ia is just a huge disappointment.
