Hey guys, here is my Editor for Deus Ex.


NOTE: Only use the Editor IF you are past the Prologue & download "Fixed freezing issue.rar" if you have freezing problems.

Super Advanced Save Editor v 3.7

# = location
N = normal
U = upgraded
1 = 1

#1 = location 1
N#1 = normal location 1
U#1 = upgraded location 1

Green color = new location (current?)
DarkKhaki color = old location

Note: inventory should support upgraded items, if not then use the custom iD search.
Added Search & Replace. ( Tool supports Upgraded items/wpns and DLC items/wpns)
Added more normal items/wpn, upgraded items/wpns and DLC items/wpns to custom ID search.
Made the tool a little bit smaller.

.: Tutorial :.

1. Click on the "Open" button > select your GAMER# or GAMEA# file.
2. See if your values are correct ( if you aren't sure then edited all locations)
3. edit your xp/prax/item values.
3.click the "save" button
4. you're done now, you don't need to rehash your file again with another tool like modio or horizon.

.: Custom ID Search Tutorial :.

1. Each item/wpn/etc. has an ID.
2. Each normal ID starts with "00" and ends with "00" and each upgraded ID starts with "00" and ends with "01"
3. The maximum length of an ID = 10 hexadecimal values.
4. Checkout the Item ID list, if you want to search for painkillers then copy the ID of painkillers from the Item Id List "001F5101" and paste in the search box, make sure the ID ends with "00" like this --> "001F510100" <-- = (normal ID) | (Upgraded ID) = -->> "001F510101"
5. Click the Search button.
6. Edit the available locations.
7. save.

.: Inventory Items/Wpns Tutorial :.

1.a. if you are at the start/beginning of the game then click the DarkKhaki "My old value??" button.
1.b. if you are not at the start/beginning of the game then click the green "my current value??" button.
1.c . if you are not sure (lol) then scan and edit all locations ( or you can test each locations with custom ID search)
2. click the "max all" button
3. save.

To use just open your GAMER# or GAMEA# file.

!UPDATE v2011 v3.4 Editor has been re-coded and has a new look to it. The Editor auto extracts after you press "Open" and auto injects/Rehashs/Resigns the save for you after you press "Save". (BIG Thanks to Sephiroth (http://www.360haven.com/forums/member.php?1-Sephiroth) for this update!)

Are you extracting ALL the files in the .rar file (and putting them in the same folder)? Make sure the Editor and PackageIO.dll are together.

typically I have the same problem with your editors idle either I can open them but they dont see my saves or they flat out dont work ill download this and give it a go.

My Kingdom Under Fire Editor I made ALONG time ago (before I knew how to code readers). So therefore it was made to not show you your current stats of your save.

After the change of XP's and after earning some xp's. I got 20 Praxis points to use on my upgrades :)
About level, i dont know yet... Don't see a level option.

Can you also check on ammo/items?
If needed will make some saves for it.

I get a Microsoft .NET Framework crash when it's about to open the .sav file. Both the editor and the PackageIO.dll are together and i'm starting it with run in admin. Using win 7 here. Edit: Also using the latest 1.1 editor.

Tried to hex it myself. Gave myself 200.000 xp editing exp alone does nothing it seems. Didn't get any praxis to use =/, and if you don't get them exp is useless :p.

open the gamer1 file with conmanager and extract .sav file thats the one u need to open in editor and then replace it with con manager in gamer1

When posting errors, you guys mind being more descriptive, I dunno...possible step by step on that you are doing?

I dunno about Idle, but after a while of getting numerous people posting the same error without helping me by being descriptive would get on my nerves and I would start ignoring the error posts since nobody wants to help me fix the issue. (Thats just me).

So just remember, regardless of any editor, when coming across an error and posting it. BE as descriptive as possible. What steps you took, what you are using, etc...
This helps you and it also helps the programmer fix the issue. :D

I think your pointer is still off a little, it spent a good five minutes trying to read the file and gave up with the unhandled error crap ive grown to hate in my own programs, this one mentions your readint code so its most likely the pointer, ive had a look at the saves myself, quite touch and go.
Do you have exception messages (ex.Message) set up at relevant try points to tell you exactly whats wrong? Might help with debugging.

I have 1 praxis, 11025 total xp and 3695 credits, next praxis at 3975.

I have a problem whit the editor when it's try to load any savedata. I wait 10-15 seconds and then I obtain this error. Sorry for the languague of the error but I am spanish.

Ya you can make one, I only made mine for fun, I knew another (better) modder would make a more advanced Editor :P

As for the people having errors, I will look in to the errors as soon as I can. As I said, I don't have the game, I oly had a few saves (and the saves I had worked for the Editor).

anyone else manage to get past the exp not saving and simply resetting upon save load in? also I was thinking maybe someone else figured this out already but the level modifier maybe its a praxis modifier , I say this as once I load in my save level is 1 which at the time was the same value as my praxis points. Either way though editing them didn't do anything.

also takes a good 30 - 50 second to load my save, and crashs when i try to close the editor.

EDIT: my mistake, i backed up all saves (GameA1, GameA2 & Game1) deleted them off my xbox.
edited GameA1 and all changed worked. only put the GameA1 back on the xbox, put level up to 12. dont know what it changed.

Every 5,000 Experience Points is 1 Level which gives you 1 Praxis Point. If you look at my Stats in the Picture you can tell that i've got 12135 exp and need 2965 exp to get my next Praxis Point (Which you can also see as a Level up), so i'm a Level 3 about to level up to level 4.

Well, it's impossible to do it at the very beginning because you don't get your Robotic implants after the Prologue that shows your Credits, Praxis and Exp.

lol you love finding the difficulty offset (you found it for my Knights Contract Editor). I'll look into adding it.

I've used my GameSave called GAMER1.

1.) Get your SaveFile that's named GAMER1
2.) Open that SaveFile with Horizon or Le Fluffie
3.) Extract from that SaveFile (GAMER1) the file called Savegame.sav
4.) Open up the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Save Editor
5.) With the Save Editor you open up the Savegame.sav File
6.) Edit the Value you want then hit Save and close the Editor
7.) Inject the Savegame.save back to your GAMER1 SaveFile
8.) Rehash/Resign and put the GAMER1 SaveFile back onto your HDD or USB Stick

Just tried but the editor refuses to open your save. Keep getting an handling exeption error saying the index is out of range.

Worked fine on my save, strange this one wont load. Perhaps try uploading another save and see how it goes?

IT's pretty good. You have to do a lot of stealthy work. Prob. don't want to get off track of the OP about the editor.

I'm loving the Game, i haven't enjoyed a Game this much since Dead Space 2 was released. There's so many ways to Complete and do stuff, you can either go John Rambo on People or Solid Snake Style... hell you can even find tons of other ways to get to your Target. They really stayed true to the Deus Ex Series with this Sequel. :)

P.S: An Inventory Editor would be amazing to add Upgrade Parts etc... because i've only found 2 Stores and they have barely anything on Sale not to mention once you buy all their Items they are out of Stock.

I have a problem not to long after i modded my save i got to the part. Tai Yong Medical - Penthouse
And right as i'm about to enter the plane to get picked up the game Freezs everytime. I've installed the game to the system and still have the problem.

I have a problem not to long after i modded my save i got to the part. Tai Yong Medical - Penthouse
And right as i'm about to enter the plane to get picked up the game Freezs everytime. I've installed the game to the system and still have the problem.

I've tried Editing your Values lower to see if that would work also but the Game seems to always Freeze up with you SaveFile.

when you modded Wolfenstein it use to do that....the fix was to load and remove the memory unit so when you choose a new device it creates the same save on the new device.

Nice work mbrking, I don't know how to do an item/weapon editor so I can't add that :( maybe Jappi88 can add that...

For those having an UNKNOWN Difficulty it is because on saves that are further in the game the Difficulty doesn't go by 01-03, it goes by 9D-9F. I didn't know that when I coded v1.4, but I will have that fixed for v1.5.

hmm the inventory offset is in each save at another place
give me more time im lookin 4 a easy way to find the inventory location and i never searched the total amount..

What are people using for there extracting and injecting of savegame.sav? I tried using both 360rev and also horizon. Not sure why this is not working. I am currently using Gamer 6 save from here. I went a little further in the game and bought everything from the gun vendor in Detroit. Saved game in new slot. Opened up said game and extracted the savegame.sav from it. Opened it up in the 1.4 editor. made change to praxis only. saved. waited. injected savegame.sav back into the gamer save I obtained from xbox earlier. rehashed/resigned, put on hdd. start up game and select gamer I just put up there and everything is the same.

Honestly I think I was lucky. I tried to edit my save again. Its the same save as before. But I keep getting an unhandled microsoft .net framework exception when opening the editor. The editor wont open. The unhandled exception changes every time Ie 5876,1980,5032.

first of all! thank u idlehands for the time and labour u put in this editor once more. but i must admit this is the first editor which does not work for me either!
i been modding savegames now for quite a while and i handle most of the routines and i use good software like horizon or 360revolution,
so i can edit my save with the editor. the extracted savegame-file loads just great, takes a while but it loads up correct. now when i did my changes and hit the save button in ur editor i rehash and resign with horizon and put the file back into the con file. then i rehash and resign this file and put it back on my MU drive.
but when i load up the save in game there has nothing changed. so this is really the first time i could not manage to get around with an editor. :-)
i got the pal version of the game, but i doubt this makes a difference...but who knows, right?
so i guess i need to stick to manually hexing this game unless some of u smart-brains figure out a resolution :)

I extracted the savegame.sav from GAMER1 then I opened the savegame.sav in save editor but i had to wait at least 30 seconds at first it showed my that the app is not responding then it load the values but the difficulty showed as unknown then i edited the values in the editor and clicked save then i reinject it back
to GAMER1 them i rehashed it then i loaded the save in the game by going to LOAD GAME but the difficulty was unknown but the values was changed and when i saved again the difficulty when back to normal

Exact same problem here. Editor changed nothing and i think i played on with a clean savegame. So maybe its a game related issue? But maybe i used a modded savegame and thats the reason.

I access my Xbox directly via PC =) A Samba Fileserver is running in the background of my 360. Of course i have a JTAG ;)

Im trying to edit my save in hex workshop or HXD and I searched for my total XP 36379 in my gamer file and replaced it with 99999 saved it injected it back into my GAMER file rehashed resigned upped to xbox load GAMER file and still the same 36379. crazy! I replaced all instances of that value. weird.

thats the only problem i have come across so far is when u have to go to montreal at the heli pad it freezes and crashes the console but i did just notice when ur holding forward it freezes and moves alittle and then freezes and crashes

Maybe try to change the compatibility??? Do so by right-clicking the .exe and go to Properties>Compatibility and click the Checkbox to enable the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and try to change it to "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". and make sure you also run it as Admin. No need for a new save, just extract your savegame.data file from your GAMER# or GAMERA save, modify and hit save. Once you have injected your savegame.data file back it should be good to go.

The new editor is working now. My items change. The only saves I have now are on the roof before you get into the helicopter and move on to the next city. The pilot says some alpha echo echo commands and then force crash. I guess I'll try and start from scratch, just don't want to get to that spot and it happens again. Not sure how everyone else got past this point. The editor is awesome by the way. I have spent most of the day today, looking at the ammo while I was waiting for anyone to up a save past the crash point. I am not getting anywhere with the ammo though.

EDIT: I did switch from using 360rev and horizon to modio 3.0, and I have not had an issue, even before the new update.

Im on freestyle dash and it prevents from freezing and sends you to the dashboard, instead of freezing and having to restart your system. Yes I am on a modded save.

the only thing i have changed on my save is the praxis thast it and i could only do so when i had aleast one of them.

and for those ppl who have been having problems with crashs i have just done a new save and just modded the praxis with the new updated editor and i have been able to get on the heli with no problems so iam not at the park :D but the only thing i havent done any side quests lol so if anyone wants a copy let me know and ill up load one for u, i have 2 saves one before the heli so u can do the side quests if u like and one after the heli

the only thing i did different was when i got my first praxis after the first mission is change it to 99 cos its more than enought to max out saved it an it worked an when u go to load it up on the 360 u cant tell if it workd before u load it cos the year and time is way off

:P i didn't saw that, and if i use the latest version on TLOR FETT save.. editor giving me a error, its talking about error size not enough to be STFS..

WHY the hell ive got a freezing every time, when i try to get the hell away from China to Montreal =( Even after using *new* version of SaveEditor... or it wont work anyway? Help me, im stucked...

If your gonna do inventory edits might i suggest some sexy comboboxes complete with matching database? i recently finished that particular boot camp so id love to help with that section, that and im bored out of my damn mind.

Also here is my completed save, right at the end. Believe it or not there's literally 1 spoiler and its very minor, the endings themselves are spoiler free which in a way sucks. There are 4 endings in all including one to your left down the hall, all are as crap as eachother, im not even sure which one is considered canon, they all kind of suck.
I also have some leftover upgrade points because the remaining stuff is useless to me.
Enjoy, I'm armed to the teeth.
Most of the game was done in stealth but i was more then happy to do headshots if things went to hell, i also have an extremely long list of turret kills because carrying one of those down a hallway is everymans right.

the editor that was updated this morning seems to be the only one that lets u get on the heli but it has to be a save that hasnt been touched by a prevous version of the editor.... ive just got to china again now so once iam at the heli to montreal ill find out if this one works it has so far
