HEY Guys,

I think everyone wont mod his inventory here is a small TuT

this is the easyst way to mod your inventory

bevor u do this open my save and bookmark with hexworkshop and
check the inventory startpoint and end point and how the items r sorted

Example gamesave with bookmark
1979

INVENTORY TUT

1.
remember your items (example 5 weapons, 4 genades, 6 nuke virus software = 10 items)

if u have 10 items u will see 10 items id´s in hexworkshop

2.
open gamesave in hexworkshop

3.
search 4 that no. in HEX 000000000000450500 u will have 1 search result
but if u have more then one the 1st one is the right one and u can check this easy,
remember your items (example 5 weapons, 4 genades, 6 nuke virus software = 10 items)

4.
Mod your gamesave, save the file and resign u. rehash (i use con manager 2.2.0.0)

RED = Item ID

GREEN = Amount --> FFFF is max Amount

WEAPON MOD TUT

use 1st the inventory tut u need ammo to use the modded weapons

1.
clean up inventory and have only weapons (its easier to mod them)

2.
open gamesave in hexworkshop

3.
search 4 that no. in HEX 000000000000450500

4.
replace ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE and Pink with FF 4 a SPECIAL WEAPON

check my pic mod them, save, resign and rehash :) have fun

Im trying to search my inventory numbers in Hex Workshop. Your tut says "example 5 weapons, 4 genades, 6 nuke virus software = 10 items" how does 5 + 4 + 6 = 10? Wouldn't that be 15? Where are you getting 000000000000450500 from? I dropped some items to get a handle on this. I have 5 guns 3 grenades and 4 virus software. Which number do I search for? I opened your bookmarks under my save and the value says all zeroes in the number to look for area?

the max amount nuke virus is 20 in one slot but if u have 21 u got 2 items

example 5 weapons, 4 genades, 6 nuke virus software, 20 nuke virus software = 11 items = 11 item ids

and u cant use my bookmark 4 your save this is only 4 my save


if u have problems send me your save and i will create a bookmark 4 u

Thanks Ravanofdarkness, I just can't get my head around how the items total up. And also where you got the 000000000000450500 from. I was thinking the base converter to convert from decimal to hex but that doesn't get that value either. Do you add up all of the ammo as well. like IE machine pistol ammo has 2 slots one is full at 50 and the other is 22. would this be considered 2 items then?

It should be stackable since you can't usally stack Weapons or Upgrades but when you FF FF Hex them they have tons of stuff Stacked upon them.

Anyone willing to test this tool for me.


1. load your gamesave and wait until it says "file loaded"
2. edit credits to max 999999, praxis to max 99 and exp to 99999999.
3.save. (do not close the tool)
4. click on the re-scan button and wait until it says "file loaded"
5. edit credits to 888888, praxis to 88 and exp to 888888888.
6. save,exit and test the results in game please.

I'm not sure if it's just me or everyone, but does doing the FF trick to the P.E.P.S make it's clip around 2500 and everytime you shoot it makes a sound as if it's outta rounds (it actually doesn't shoot anything, but the ammo goes down by one)

Nowhere in the tutorial is it mentioned to do that. So why not try not doing that, the empty space could be there for a reason.

Just pickup something you don't need and then change the ID numbers to something you want, simple.

I put a plasma rifle into my inventory by replacing the shotgun in hex, then turned the shotgun shells into plasma rifle ammo and changed the values to FF FF for the amount of ammo.
But mine works if I turn a weapon into another weapon and ammo into another ammo/cyberboost energy etc. And of course Rehash/Resign

Edit-Just tried again there was 2 values originally so i changed both also tried to id swapped the power jars that give 3 energy bars i had 1 in inventory there where 6 instance i changed 1 of them which oviously was the first one changed to ffff which then changed nothing in game the auto hack thing worked i have 65000 but now i am scared that i screwed something up am i ok or should i post my backup and have a pro look at it ?

I just swapped the ids between a grenade and the auto hack device and it's working fine!!
I also changed the regular sniper rifle to the silenced sniper rifle using the pre-order ids and it's all good too!!

Really? That's kind of half-assed of the developers. I figured the pre-orders were just unlock codes to have the items work in-game, now they're not even that.

Thank you so much for the save. It does seem that there's a problem concerning the rate of fire in that the PEPS and the Tranq rifle do not shoot. I guess there's a conflict with the "charge up"timer both weapons have.

Oh I could fix the fire rate with no problem. I just hadn't messed with those before so I could just set those back to normal. Thats not hard to do at all. I knew there was a byte that I should have left alone with those guns. But everything else works fine right?

Yup. other weapons seem to work, just the ones that charge up seem to be not functional.

Ok after experimenting for a while with the hex values for both the P.E.P.S. and the Tranquilizer Rifle I found out what was preventing the guns from actually firing a projectile. If the reload speed is set too high such as "FF" then it makes the gun go through the animation too quick and I think the game assumes no ammo is being reloaded into the weapon and therefore its like shooting any other gun when you really are out of ammo. Even though it shows you have however much ammo you might have. So make sure to keep the value for the reload speed set at "00" for those two weapons at least; that's how I fixed my save with that issue. Hope this helps.

swap one of ur inventory item ID u have (lets say stop virus) with auto hacks ID and change the amount to FFFF
that`ll give u 65535 auto hacks...
u can use any inventory ID u have on ur inv just know wich one u have and the amount so it`ll be easier to find

Well just about every game I've played in which you can mod you inventory it has always just been possible to swap one item for another. If you try to add something in the hex code that isn't there initially it will most likely mess up and corrupt the file.

I've tried swapping the inventory between my end game save and a new one right after the prologue (both had the same number of itens) and after loading it froze (black screen), don't know if i did something wrong though, not very good at hex editing myself.

Yes it gives that amount.
Side Note: There is a problem in game trying to equip the weapons with parts if you have edited them to that many. I guess because they are not meant to stack in game.

I have had to mess around with different location like you said to edit inventory items. Some times it the first instance some times its the second that needs editing. Seems to not matter editing both cause I have done that and everything came out 65535 in my inventory.

dont know if anyone mention above, if you swap the weapon you current equip to other weapon, the game will crash, so be careful...

also, if you want to edit your inventory and if it come out more then 1 value. play the game again pick up some stuff or save again, sometimes do a search again, it will come out only 1 value...

I'm not one hundred percent sure but you cant get any weapons until you get in the chopper

I think it's possible to swap the item for a weapon, actually i swap a Pro Cyber Energy Bar for a Jar and nothing happened, same with weapons mods i swap some i didn't needed for others and everything were fine, just have to be careful swapping the weapon you have equipped because the game will crash, but in your case i think that isn't a problem. :)

I just had to say...awesome job. I just finished hex editing my inventory in an unmodded save file and everything works great. This was my first time hex modding and it took a couple of hours, but I got the hang of it. I even "bookmarked" my inventory items and replaced 1 item with the auto hacker. Sweet! Thanks again!!

If you're changing quantities you might as well use the editor.
