There's a brand new Dead or Alive game in development, and it's heading to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi offered "a glimpse in the future" of the DOA franchise during tonight's TGS 2011 Tecmo event, during which he asked that we shut off all recording equipment (thus the lack of a thrilling image above).

In a teaser trailer of a pre-Alpha (read: very early) build of Dead or Alive 5, Ninja Gaiden's Ryu Hayabusa faces off against rival Hayate on top of a brightly lit urban area -- perhaps the Shibuya digs we're currently writing this from? Hayashi teased dramatic new levels, and even went as far as to call the game "fighting entertainment," rather than "just a fighting game." (Note: It's a fighting game.)

Bout bloody time they did another one, always loved this series.

Hope the last boss isn't as cheap and annoying as the one from DOA4 though, dont think my pads could take any more rage quits.

OH I KNOW! I hated her! The bosses got progressively harder and harder as the series went on. But at least DOA Dimensions didn't have an ultra hard main boss (though it did have a shitty tag-team system).

ABOUT TIME! I only hope that this time around they get to make a fun and balanced final boss...Ever since Dead or Alive 3, the bosses have been horribly unfair and not fun to play against.

I enjoyed that trailer, although the series was starting to get a little repetative it does look like they are bringing something new to the table.
