1. Use La Fluffie to extract the USER_DATA file.
2. Mod USER_DATA and fix checksum.
3. Inject modded USER_DATA file back in using La Fluffie
4. Close the save file (La Fluffie automatically saves changes when you close the save)
5. Fix hash with 360 Hash Block Calculator
You should see no change in file size. I've been using this method and I've had no corruption at all and I've modded my save at least 30 times and exited, reloaded my save at least fifty times.
I followed your instruction carefully but I'm always getting failed to load every time. I've been successfully modding the saves using other methods but it reduces the size of the save and it always eventually ended up corrupting. I wanted to try it your way but it I'm always getting failed to load. What am I doing wrong?

just letting people know that i did upload an updated structure file in the second post. Tomorrow i will add item id's to it so the drop down boxes work correctly.

Hello guys, I've learned how to hex the souls and humanity, but I am having trouble hexing items. (I'm new to hexing) I'm trying to figure out how to use the structures you guys are talking about. Is there anyone that can help and explain how to hex items? Like on the shards you use to upgrade I can find the id but I dont know what to change to make the quantity of the item change to 99. Also would love to know how to add items to my user data. Anyone able to help me out? I'd greatly appreciate it.

The part where it explains +5 weapons in 1st page is confusing there both the same ids and same +5.

thanks to you. based on ur guide and the programs u mentioned i finally was able to modify my items with hex without messing with the file size wich always turned the save corrupted once i played for a few hours. :)

Here is my process for manually modding the save:
1. Rest at a bonfire, then Quit the game.
2. Extract your DRAKS0005 file from your USB.
3. Open the DRAKS0005 file in Horizon or Modio and click the Contents tab.
4. Extract the USER_DATA that your character is stored in, then close your DRAKS0005 file.
5. Open both the USER_DATA and DRAKS0005 in Hex Workshop.
6. Edit the USER_DATA first (DON'T FIX THE CHECKSUM YET).
7. Go to your DRAKS0005 and Search for your characters name (make sure to click the Unicode String box).
8. Make sure you find your name with your stats above the name (there should be 3 of your name in the DRAKS0005 file).
9. Copy/Paste the edited info from USER_DATA to DRAKS0005.
10. Go back to USER_DATA and copy the Checksum and search for it in the DRAKS0005 file.
11. Calculate the Checksum of USER_DATA and replace the old Checksum in DRAKS0005 with the new one.
12. Save, Rehash and Resign the save and replace it back on your USB (DON'T ADD THE USER_DATA BACK INTO THE DRAKS0005 FILE).

Can you explain part 7-9 in a bit more detail? how do we find our character names on the drake file w/o having to scroll down looking for it? and it is possible to copy and paste character data from a previous edited file thats hasn't been corrupted yet? i have a backup save thats not corrupted yet but once i beat a boss or run around in the game it gets corrupted. im hoping its possible to just copy my char data to a fresh file cause i really don't want to start over in recollecting all my armor and items.

Your items are kept in the inventory in sequential order as you obtain them. To add an item, find the last item in your inventory and add the new item after that, replacing the placeholder FFFFF...000000....FFFFFF....etc.
For example, items in your inventory in HexWorkshop will look something like this:

So, if you want to add 99 humanity you would replace the first sequence of placeholder FFFFF00000FFFFFF00000...etc. with 40000000000001F40000006300000049010000000000000000 000000.
I added a bunch of stuff last night and it worked fine. Just be sure your quantity and inventory sequence numbers are in HEX. I'm no expert by any means so I hope this makes sense.

I updated my post on the first page with a structure viewer that has all the item IDs i had on my compter. I will update it with what's all on the list after work. :P Yay for dropdown boxes.

Just a quick question hopefully someone will read this. When you guys who get corrupted saves pull your save to your pc are you using the same old container from a previous DRAK005 or pulling a new one each time?

I've updated the 2nd post with more ids and gave some users the hexedit rank. I stated my save with all items, key items, weapons, armor etc etc...

has anyone figured out a fix for the corrupt saves yet? if u have a working save right before the corruption starts? i can load one of my last saves but anything saved after that is corrupt!. anyone know how to fix it

basicly you just double click on the structure you want to load. I sugest the Save structure since it also includes the items as well. Then on the bottom left of the hex workshop screen you will see Struct Save, double click that and it will open up more secions and lable everything. You can edit stuff from the structure itself as well.

now we just need to find the byte for breast size...but in all seriousness I'm assuming hair is around there too so if you can find hair or facial hair I'm going to turn my character into the final boss since I already have his armor and sword. then just run around raping kids while their confused.
Yo! I was just wondering if anyone can help answer a quick question? I'm a noob to hex code modding and everything related to it, but I got the gist of modding the soul and humanity count. Problem is whenever I rest at a bonfire and quit and attempt to restart the save game doesn't load. It gives me the "FAILURE TO LOAD SAVE GAME" pop-up over and over. Could anyone give me a clear answer on how to fix this?
I've tried going to previous pages of this thread and reading up on some ways to do it but some of the steps I do not get. Also, I only play in offline mode. I have a strong fear of getting banned lol.

I'm pretty sure it's an item you get when you join the Blades of Darkmoon covenant. You use it to invade the worlds of sinners, like members of the Darkwraith covenant who've killed players in their own worlds, and get vengeance.

I have so far been able to edit item quantities. I have also encountered the failed to load error. Since then, I have been editing as IdleHands88 has mentioned and NOT inject the USER_DATA file, but mod the CON file instead. That being said, I have been using the Hash Calc tool to recalculate the Hash. No change in file size and works so far *knock on wood*. The trouble I'm having is that I can't seem to add any items. There seem to be blocks of items scattered throughout the USER_DATA file separated by sequences of "FFFFFFFF00000000FFFFFFFF00000000..." and "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF00000000FFFFFFFF00000000". I recall a post mentioning that those are placeholders and should be replaced by the item you are looking to add. It also seems that each item is 28 bytes but I am unsure of how the 28 bytes would fit in the sequence.
for example, I have:

I am aware of the bold sections...but that is it. the following few lines/items are as follows:

Until someone has the time to make a nice tutorial though I would suggest just overwriting existing items. I know while we were still working on it earlier in the week if there was an item I needed, such as the white/blue/red slabs, i would just replace the code in place for an item I didn't care for, such as the souls items. The "Soul of Nameless" "Large Soul of Nameless" "Soul of Warrior", you'll never end up using these since you can modify your souls directly so they serve as nice drop-in spots for items you're looking to add. Same make sure any items you swap in are for the appropriate item type (weapons 4 weapons, armors 4 armors, etc)

Until someone has the time to make a nice tutorial though I would suggest just overwriting existing items. I know while we were still working on it earlier in the week if there was an item I needed, such as the white/blue/red slabs, i would just replace the code in place for an item I didn't care for, such as the souls items. thanks, i'll try that later. but do i only replace the section starting with 40 ending with XXXX as item number? namely, the sections i didn't place in bold; should they remain the same as they were even if i am changing the item? i.e. nameless soul to titanite.

The full item has 22 0's after that last 01 (for items. Weapons have one or more of those ending 0's replaced with values for durability, upgrade, etc.). You need to replace the next FFFFF....000000....FFFFFFF.....etc. sequence with the FULL item number, including those last 22 0's. In your example, you would paste in 40000000000002BC000000010004B12D010000000000000000 000000 to add that item. Note that the 04B12D sequence is all part of the inventory location.
I've had some problems with added items showing in my inventory but being unusable. I fixed this once by unequiping everything and then they were useable. However, last night I added a bunch of stuff and a lot of the items are unuseable (can't drop, can't use, etc.). Even after unequiping everything, I still can't use them. I am pretty certain this is because of those other values in the inventory sequence number being incorrect. I left them as 0's and only added the next hex value in my sequence, e.g., EE, EF, etc. I think we need the whole sequence, not just those two bytes to ensure the items are useable. Problem is, as far as I can tell the other values in the inventory sequence number are completely random. They don't seem to follow any particular pattern.
I think what we need is someone who has a couple hundred legit items (that have been added in game by looting/purchasing) in their inventory to unequip everything, save their file, and go in and copy/paste here their entire inventory so we can see all of the sequence numbers in their entirety for a loaded inventory.

I was able to mod items effectively with hex worshop. I didn't add anything new since I have the things I need for the most part but I switched the quantity.
demon titanite, titanite chunk, titanite slab, twinkling titanite were all I needed.
after a bit of playing signed off properly, data wasn't corrupted but file USER_DATA was gone yet again.
I guess I'm better off waiting on an editor since I can't effectively follow idlehands instruction on editing the CON file instead of the USER_DATA.

dont worry once I have all every weapon armor etc there will be a save at the start of the game that has everything and max stats and ill have one with legit stats as well. Both of those save u will be able to edit without having to worry about it getting corrupted.

Tip:
If you have for example "0001E078 - Stone Leggings" and subtract 03E8, you will find "0001DC90 - Stone Gauntlets", if u subtract more 03E8 u will find "0001D8A8 - Stone Armor", one more time if u subtract 03E8 u will find "0001D4C0 - Stone Helm"
The order of subtraction is: Leggings > Gauntlets > Armor >Helm, so if you have any of these items you can find the rest of the set.
The tip works with shield's, swords, talismans,you just need add or subtract the value "03E8" and will find some items.

The bytes in green represent the items overall inventory position, regardless of being on your character or within the bottomless bag. So an item with 02B5C0D9 will always be the item that is highest listed within your "Weapons" tab. When you go to the bottomless bag, you'll notice that an item can be listed higher in bag order even if it is not an item on your character, this is why this code is important. Listed below are the corresponding codes for the first 7 bag slots top to bottom, anyone looking to discover the hex for a particular item this should get you rolling, simple make sure the item is in corresponding slot, ctrl+f, and viola.

I'm wondering if you can expand on this a bit. Is the 02B5C0 sequence specific to weapons? Do you know what this sequence is for rings, keys, upgrade items, etc.? The reason I am asking is that when we want to add items to our inventory, it would help if we added them using the full inventory position and not just the last two bytes of the position.
For example, let's say I start a new toon and want to edit in a bunch of stuff. He'll only start out with a couple keys, some armor, and a weapon. How do I know what to put in for the inventory location for new items I want to add, other than sequentially increasing the last two bytes, e.g., 40, 41, 42, 43, etc.? I've been simply leaving these as 0's, e.g., 00000041, 00000042, etc., but I've had problems with items being unuseable, even after unequiping everything.

Tip:
If you have for example "0001E078 - Stone Leggings" and subtract 03E8, you will find "0001DC90 - Stone Gauntlets", if u subtract more 03E8 u will find "0001D8A8 - Stone Armor", one more time if u subtract 03E8 u will find "0001D4C0 - Stone Helm"
The order of subtraction is: Leggings > Gauntlets > Armor >Helm, so if you have any of these items you can find the rest of the set.
The tip works with shield's, swords, talismans,you just need add or subtract the value "03E8" and will find some items.

All you guy do is cry about ur saves not working clearly U R doing something wrong. I've been avoiding all the post about saves, trying to be nice. If you don't have anything useful to add then please don't post. I am not trying to be mean or anything just saying. We start this thread up because to many people where asking a for saves and cry they cant get there saves to work. So again, if you don't have anything useful to add then please don't post.

I managed to edit if the first door was open or not. Depending on where this goes, it might be possable to make a save with every door already open from the start. :P Sequence breaking
Edit: in thoery i should be able to find the npc flags as well.

The list of things that you could be doing wrong is a large one. You may be adjusting the wrong values in the wrong file (play with the player data not the whole save), you may be incorrectly fixing the checksum, you may be doing a rehash badly or not doing it at all. I played around with a bunch of corruptions with the first release editor, I found that stepping away from bonfires before saving helped.
I would say that if you can't get the item edits to work, just stick with the editor until a simple solution is released. Let the good people here work on providing everyone with continuing awesomeness rather than debugging the thousands of different things people are doing wrong.
If you are still intent on hexing, follow the tutorial in here for the souls/humanity and start searching for items to adjust.

Thanks. From my research, it appears these sequences are completely random. I cannot see any pattern whatsoever. Even your 7 posted sequences have no identifiable pattern that I can see. I think if we want to add a bunch of items to a fresh toon, we are going to need someone to post a list of their inventory location sequences from a legit save. Otherwise, there is no way to know what to use. Although you posted seven such sequences for weapons, there is no way to know what the 8th, 9th, 10th, etc. sequence should be. Like I said, I've had problems with items being unusable (even after unequiping everything) when I use 000000.

For those of you needing help with corrupted save files READ THIS THOROUGHLY PLEASE:
Please don't bother reading this if you know what your doing, I don't want complaints of a wall of text or some shit like that, I'm only trying to help people that are on their wits end with this corruption bullshit... I was one of them.
I noticed a lot of people getting corrupted save files, first of all, I've dealt with this for a good 4 or 5 hours before finally coming upon a solution to the issue using gathered information. I've been asking on these boards for help but I keep getting the same ridiculous answers, every one has a different method of getting things to work, none have worked for me but recently I tried combining a few method's and developed one that works for me. I already had a save file that kept corrupting itself if I tried to save it and I managed to fix it, so if you're in doubt, heed my advice.
I've been tinkering with various scenario's and combinations and I've finally found one that works. I've been playing an edited save for a good 34 hours now, saving and quitting every so often as well as backing up the save (USER_DATA) after every major mile stone (boss battle) and the save has NOT deleted itself, got corrupted or even failed to load / save.
If your save file is already corrupted but you can extract the USER_DATA file out of it, then here's what you should do every time you mod the file:
1. Do not attempt to ever move the file from one location to another, I noticed that this corrupts the data like crazy. If you have the save file on your HD, leave it on the HD, if it's on a USB stick, leave it on the USB stick.
2. Download HORIZON (It just got TWO updates in the past couple days... what for? I have no idea, but it seems to be working better than before)
3. Attach your HD or USB to your PC and load up Horizon. Find your save data to Dark Souls and drag it in to the empty spot in the middle of Horizon. This will open the file directly from your HD. Extract USER_DATA.
4. Make a back up copy of your USER_DATA file. Make sure that the USER_DATA file itself is working. Usually the container file (DRAKS0005) gets corrupt but you can still extract the USER_DATA file from it, this is FINE. If you can actually extract the USER_DATA file out of the CON (DRAKS0005) then you're on the right track.
5. Mod the copy of the USER_DATA file with whatever, make sure to fix the check sum properly (there's video's on this).
[NOTE]
- It doesn't matter if you're online or offline because I've been playing online the entire time while editing my save. I just took my character off the leader boards when I made him so no one would see that I have a level 523 character. Also, I've been invaded only 8 times, kicked all their asses and I never invade any one...ever.
- If you're new to this, DO NOT edit your souls to ridiculous amounts, it WILL corrupt the file. Give yourself a hearty amount, just not too much. A good number in hex is: 00 98 96 7F which is 9, 999, 999 souls. Then waste as many as you can in to upgrading your stats and never go that high again. Usually I give myself about 500K if I die while retrieving my corpse and lose my remaining souls.
- Editing humanity to 99 seems to be fine as well as raising stats. I wouldn't touch the item discovery because it's purely cosmetic...meaning even if you have 10K item discovery, the game still bases the item find % on your stored humanity level. The highest my guy ever had was like 410 or something like that with 99 humanity and some other stuff equipped (ring I think).
- Editing EXISTING items in your inventory is also OKAY so long as you found the item already. I would not even attempt at importing items or replacing items with other items if you're having corruption problems or if you're new to hexing. I've tried this, it screws your save up and will most likely cause corruption. I didn't do it wrong either, the game just doesn't like it's inventory being fucked with. If you have even a single Dragon Scale or Twin Humanity edit those items to 99 and you'll be fine, just don't waste them all. Keep 1 or 2 for future editing.
6. After you've modded the USER_DATA file and fixed the check sum with Hexworkshop, save the file, then save it again just to be sure...I always save the file twice just in case.
7. Now that you have an original copy and a modded copy of USER_DATA, delete your DRAKS0005 save off the Xbox 360 completely. Do not re-insert the USER_DATA in to the old CON (DRAKS0005) file.
8. Plug your HD or USB back in to your Xbox 360 and go make a fresh character. Keep tapping the A button to just pick the default settings and start the game up. As soon as you see your character, do not pick up the key to the cell or open the door, or walk around, just save and exit the proper way.
9. Once you see the Bandai logo hold the middle button on your Xbox (DO NOT DASH OUT) and shut the system off completely. Load your HD / USB back on to your computer and open Horizon.
10. Extract the entire DRAKS0005 file off of your HD / USB and put it in a folder called Fresh CON or something like that. You'll notice the file size is 8.5 megs. Now you should have a copy of your newly created CON on your HD and the original file on your Xbox 360.
10. Go to your HD / USB manager in Horizon and drag the new 8.5 meg file right from the HD / USB to the middle of Horizon to open up the Rehash / Resign / Extraction tool. Replace the USER_DATA file with the modded USER_DATA file from before.
11. Rehash and Resign the file directly on your Xbox 360, don't even bother doing it on your computer, just do it straight on the Xbox 360. I noticed this helps with corruption A LOT. If you move the file around too much and try to over write the previous one, it corrupts more often. You'll notice the once 8.5 meg file will shrink to 4.61 megs or 4.99 megs, can't remember which but that's normal.
12. Exit out of Horizon and load your HD / USB back on your 360. The file should load fine but you're not done saving it from corruption just YET. Press start and go to load game. You'll notice that your freshly made character is still there and your old modded character is no where to be found. Don't worry. Click A on the fresh noob character and BAM. Your old modded character will load.
13. Before DOING ANYTHING, save and quit out right away. This will finalize the modding process and will solidify your character to the save file. I'm pretty sure what this does is updates the USER_DATA0a file which is kind of like a system file of what accomplishments your character has done in the game, such as bosses beat, bon fires found...etc.
14. Load the file up again, if it loads, you're gravy...but just to be on the safe side, save and quit and load it a second time. If it loads a second time, you should be golden.
15. Every time you beat a boss or something, save and quit, take your HD / USB off the Xbox 360 and go extract the USER_DATA file DIRECTLY FROM THE SAVE FILE ON THE XBOX...don't move the file off the Xbox or USB. Just extract the USER_DATA file for a back up and go play again. I've been doing this for the past 4 hours now, and I haven't had the data delete on me or corrupt at all. It may seem kind of annoying having to back the file up over and over but at one point I had to re-do about 3 hours of work...it wasn't cool. So take the precaution and back it up every once in a while just in case.
16. Every time you wanna mod something from here on out follow the previous steps:
- Extract the USER_DATA file & make a copy of it.
- Mod the copy.
- Delete your old 5 meg save off the Xbox 360.
- Drag the backed up Fresh CON file (8.5 megs) right on to the 360. (If this doesn't seem to work for you then go make a fresh one, takes like 15 seconds and it will save you some frustration)
- Replace the USER_DATA file of the Fresh Con file with the newly modded one.
- Rehash & Resign. It will shrink the file from 8.5 to 5 megs.
- Load the game, load your character and save and quit out TWICE just to be sure.
- PLAY for hours...or until you need to mod again.
This is how I'm doing it now and the game loads and saves without error. Like I said, don't get too crazy with the modding if you're a noob, leave it to the people holding back secrets of how they actually mod the file. ;P

Hey guys, I'm new to this whole hexing thing and so far I've managed far enough to know how to look for my items and change the amount I have. My problem now is after editing my user data one time and loading up my game it worked! That's the good news. The bad news is, when I tried a second time after saving, for example, I wanted to add more Twinkling Titanites since I ran out, I edited again with no issues but when I tried to load my game, the screen froze on the loading screen after I chose my save file to load. What did I do wrong? =\ Thanks in advanced.
EDIT: ...and now I'm running into STFS issues. Whenever I try to replace my User Data with an edited one using Horizon, its giving me this error "STFS: Invalid number of free blocks while allocating blocks" WHat does that mean? I'm soooo lost =( Please help.

Yeah, i had just re-edited my post, when I was locating the new item IDs i noticed this as well, it seems that the sequence I had originally had in the post changed between saves, not sure what caused this but since then I've just been using durability as an identifier for weapons/armor.

in the research I was doing earlier I'm almost 100% that variables involving status effects and/or actual weapon stats is located within the .iso for the game, not the save.

You rehash and resign through modio or horizon. The easiest way i have found is always use your current drak005 file. dont reuse the old container(drak005) it will corrupt at least thats what happened to me when I used and old save in my new container. and vice versa

I believe he means to copy\inject everything into the usb drive first, then rehash. If you hash on your PC then move the file to the usb, you run a risk or corrupting it.
The filesystem itself can mess these saves up just by looking at them, this is why you want to do as much of the end fixing directly on the usb save as you can.

I always have rehased on the pc then save to the usb drive. I haven't had an issue so far. Maybe there are to many methods flying around with the saves.

Agreed, there is more religion than science in getting this to work it seems. Pretty sure that I copy off the drive, do my edits and hash on pc then put back on drive. Works without corruption for me. I have yet to do the whole inject into a brand new save step, seems like too much effort. Only thing I managed to screw up so far was changing a bunch of item values, but not seeing any change in the game. Not entirely sure what I tweaked that time.

Seeing as how there are so many ways to pull data from the usb. Lefflufle, modio, horizon there should be guides to them instead of so much fragmentation and trial an error. I think by far the modio way I use is great.

at the same time i think a lot of it comes down to not just preference but compatibility as well. on previous projects i've generally worked with horizon but kept receiving a hash block index error this time around on horizon and had to use modio. Despite that, haven't had any issues with modio with this game. All that aside, a majority of people having trouble seem to next to none if any hexing experience and tbh the lack on translation in the data interpreter doesn't make this game the best choice to try hexing for someone that's a beginner.

For my part, it's worked like this:
Originally I was trying to do most of the file manipulation with Modio. Everything else was the same (edits in Hex workshop, etc.). The saves would come back corrupted, or would become so quickly.
Then I tried Horizon, and it seemed to work better (not corrupt). However, with multiple edits of the same file (and characters other than the first), there seemed to be frequently occurring tendency for user_data files to go missing. Without any of the player information even present in a file (aside from the header/container info), it becomes impossible to recover your character.
I figured something was happening with container, considering the large difference in ending file-size, and that may just be how Horizon handles it. At some point they're screwing with the non-character-related savedata, and that results in the overall file become A) corrupt with some file editors B) vanishing files with subsequent edit attempts in horizon.
In any event, by keeping a new-ish unmodded save on the desktop, instead of repeating the rehash/resign on a previously edited game file, I always insert the new user data into an current unmodded save. However Horizon is initially screwing up the container, the save is loadable and functional after one edit. So, fresh container everytime. This has been suggested by other people earlier in the thread - not my idea. I don't know the particulars of the bugs, but I've managed to avoid them so far...

I am curious about something I seen many many pages back I seen a guy with 8000 for discovery. Where is that hex number located? I would also like that glowing thing as well for the eyes and hair. maybe I have missed it. if its here would someone be kind enough to point it out for me?

this is true but in theory you could also jump to a bonfire you havent discovered yet, sequence break if you will. Mostly good for new game plus.

When a spell is in the slot its ID will be there, in other words:
E300 = 000BFE (4000000000[000BFE] - Crystal Soul Spear)
The next 4 bytes seem to be the amount of times the spell can be cast multiplied by 3. (I've no idea why, but I've verified this for every spell I have equipped and it is correct.)
For example 'Crystal Soul Spear' can be cast 10 times: 0000001E (10*3=0x1E)
I do not know if this number changes as you cast them (and lower your uses). I did this at a bonfire where I always had maximum uses/castings available.
(A complete example of what 'Crystal Soul Spear' would look like in hex in any slot is: 00000BFE 0000001E)
If you have a two slot spell it will only fill one slot.
The region auto contracts to the equipped slots you have. Any unused slots (weather not equipped or not available) will be FFFFFFFF 00000000.
EDIT: I was mixing Crystal Soul Spear and Homing Crystal Soulmass in my examples. (copy paste error) All fixed now.

The standard pyro flame goes to +15, the ascended one (an NPC will replace your +15 one with this) goes to +5.
Sooo.. it gets even better! The stat scaling on the pyro flame is just for the melee damage I hear, it's the actual upgrades to the flame that improve the magical damage. Since it's a stat-blind art (none of the spells have stat reqs either), pyromancy is somewhat interesting as an option for classes with 0 faith/int.
EDIT:
Almost forgot, I tried putting some of the ember key items on my character to see if I could upgrade the smith like that. Despite having the Very Large Ember, the smith made no comment, and I couldn't upgrade the smith like that. Perhaps finding the ember in the game world flips a flag, and having the item in your inventory is incidental.

seeing as i dont want to waste hours on end search this forum.. was just wondering if anyone found a way to edit the item discovery(drop rate)in the game.. so far i have used the save editor snuggly the barter and still waiting to see if they make a update to add that but for now im looking around and still havent found one thing that can edit that to make it higher to find weapon/armor alot faster for enemies.. thanks alot to anyone who can help me with this

I didn't make that far when I killed the other blacksmiths.
I figured it was something like that, since you have to manage two bells, sen's fortress, and most of Anor Londo before you can find that smith. The smith's gear is interesting. The game is somewhat short on blunt/strike weapons that aren't either wooden clubs (there are 4 different wooden clubs) or items with massive stat requirements. If you don't want to go tribal, morningstar seems like your only early option (but the description says it does thrust damage instead).
Meanwhile, 3 different smiths drop 3 different blunt weapons. Just about the only people in the game you'd never want to kill.... The Anor Londo one does lightning damage apparently, and looks pretty good stat-wise.
EDIT: Other stuff:
The "add 1000" to get other pieces of an armor set bit didn't work with the Dusk Crown (which is the hat for the set with antiquated clothing). If I had to speculate, perhaps it's because it's un-upgradable? Does that 1000 thing work for sets that only go to +5, or sets that can't be upgraded? Or maybe it's not considered part of a set.
I'm a little curious if when you edit in an "invalid" item that doesn't show up at all in-game (like I just did), are there any repercussions? Should I go back and use a save without the non-functioning items?

I tried to mod the file without the checksum step, and I get "invaild save file" when trying to load it ingame.

Go to the bottom of your User Data in Hex Workshop. The checksum is the last 32 characters of the file. Highlight everything (top to bottom) but the last 32 characters, generate a checksum MD5 128 bit. The new generated number is your new checksum. Copy that and paste it over the last 32 characters.
You can check your skills with an unaltered file, the number you generate should match the last 32 characters.

I've posted how to twice now (Magnus you should add to the first post)
Here is my process for manually modding the save:
1. Rest at a bonfire, then Quit the game.
2. Extract your DRAKS0005 file from your USB.
3. Open the DRAKS0005 file in Horizon or Modio and click the Contents tab.
4. Extract the USER_DATA that your character is stored in, then close your DRAKS0005 file.
5. Open both the USER_DATA and DRAKS0005 in Hex Workshop.
6. Edit the USER_DATA first (DON'T FIX THE CHECKSUM YET).
7. Go to your DRAKS0005 and Search for your characters name (make sure to click the Unicode String box).
8. Make sure you find your name with your stats above the name (there should be 3 of your name in the DRAKS0005 file).
9. Copy/Paste the edited info from USER_DATA to DRAKS0005.
10. Go back to USER_DATA and copy the Checksum and search for it in the DRAKS0005 file.
11. Calculate the Checksum of USER_DATA and replace the old Checksum in DRAKS0005 with the new one.
12. Save, Rehash and Resign the save and replace it back on your USB (DON'T ADD THE USER_DATA BACK INTO THE DRAKS0005 FILE).

this thread is quickly turning into the previous one...not to sound rude but way to many people that have no idea what they're doing asking for help. this thread is NOT for asking for help with your corrupted, lost, destroyed, or non-working save. also if you're having trouble editing whether its your souls, weapons, items, USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. There's a number of mini-guides that have been posted and even a few tutorials, so sick of every other post it being someone that joined 2 days ago saying "i tried to load my save and didn't re-hash or checksum and now its not working whyyyyyyy???"

Very simple solution to your problem, stop giving a fuck. Also your post is entirely pointless because you just posted something that has nothing AT ALL to do with this thread. Let the mods to their job if they see posts unfit.
I managed to edit some quantity on items with the structure, and the save worked ingame but there were no changes, I still had the same amount of items that I had before I started to edit.
I've posted how to twice now (Magnus you should add to the first post)
Here is my process for manually modding the save:
1. Rest at a bonfire, then Quit the game.
2. Extract your DRAKS0005 file from your USB.
3. Open the DRAKS0005 file in Horizon or Modio and click the Contents tab.
4. Extract the USER_DATA that your character is stored in, then close your DRAKS0005 file.
5. Open both the USER_DATA and DRAKS0005 in Hex Workshop.
6. Edit the USER_DATA first (DON'T FIX THE CHECKSUM YET).

The mods... Magnus IS a mod and he asked for people to stay on topic with just posting things related to modding the game, not for help with modding the game for new people.
for step 8 you HAVE to search for your name because that is the easiest way to find your user data in the full save. for step 9 you have to copy/paste the exact info you edited in the USER_DATA into the full save (for the checksum to be correct). If you still need help use the search or make a new topic, stop spamming this one...

The structure file is coming along nicely. Thanks to the info earlier i was able to get the spells section added and i also found the equpied gesture list. I havent found out how to change what gestures you have unlocked yet though. That should come soon after i find another npc to learn a gesture from. I found a value that adds the curse skull to your humanity counter but not the curse effect itself oddly so i get to have fun trying to find the status ailments. I will update the file in the second post at some point.
Edit: How many people actually find my structure file usefull?

I dl'ed your structure file, and loaded it into Hex Workshop, but it wasn't clear to me exactly what to do after that. I say this as a person capable of hex editing, but not someone who would say.. write an editor. So, it's possible their use or that part of Hex Workshop is just over my head.

Anyway, if I can figure out how one identifies the items in your inventory, I'll be set to add a bunch of as-yet unlisted items.

Apparently items such as embers are not usable when you edit them in, every blacksmith just ignores them in my inventory, this also seems to be the case with keys. Is there something specific in there Id's that needs to be changed in order for them to be recognizable? Also Chaos Blade + 5-000000000007ACDD
Also again, if someone could find the ID's of the Maiden Clothing Set, It would be highly appreciated.

Thank you very much, also on my last post, switching a key for another key, or an ember for an ember only changes the name apparently. Example, if I were to trade a large ember for an enchanted ember it would just be a large ember with the name of an enchanted ember. If that makes sense.

Ok... pretty sure those are right. I got confused at first, and was using the wrong durability numbers to reference the items. If there's any issues, let me know, but I think these are all new additions (sorry about the upgrades vs. plain, I'd already upgraded several of these things before I decided to give finding these a shot).
If anyone's got digits for the antiquated armor set (couldn't seem to add 1k in hex to the Crown of Dusk to get it), that would be much obliged (I killed her accidentally). Still looking to find... Priscilla's Dagger and the Sanctus Shield (the former is hosed on my save, so I'll have to wait for someone else to get it).

In Demon Souls you still had to actually kill the Flamelurker and Armor Spider demons on your current playthrough before Blacksmith Ed would use your boss souls. You could have legitimately earned souls on you from another playthrough and he still wouldn't do anything with them until you at least earned those two souls this time around. I am not 100% positive if this affects this game or not, but that could be why they ignore the embers you have.

Actually I found a fool proof way of making sure you're modding the right offsets in the DRAK00005 CON. Instead of searching for your Characters name and getting confused about where to edit, just look up your Characters Level and Soul amount since there is only 1 instance of it in the DRAK00005. Lets just Say you are a level 11 and you have 4068 souls, when editing look up (0B00000FE4) in DRAK00005. Your character stats are just above and your inventory is just below this point. Hope this helps anyone who is getting confused because of the multiple instances of your characters name. You're Welcome :0)
New Formula For Manaully Editing DRAK00005:

i dont think this is true for this game. I know after I killed Gwyn and received his soul I went to the bonfire that was left behind after defeating him and it ended up queueing the final cutscene and credit roll so I had to get to the 3rd blacksmith on playthrough 2 to be able to use his soul.

All ids we have are on the 2nd post. :P The Maiden stuff he use the helm to add 1000 bytes to it to get the armor then 1000 bytes for the glove then 1000 bytes for the legs.. All helms can be done like that to find the known sets. turk645 and I have yet to do so for the gear.

Awesome! The washing pole is a katana though, not a pole. The Gravelord and Painting Guardian are both curved swords, not straight too.
Are you sure about the gear thing? When I added 1000 to the Dusk Crown (in hex), it wasn't giving me the rest of that outfit. It made me wonder if outfits that are irregular are exceptions to that rule (the dusk crown can't be upgraded, but the rest of the antiquated set can be, similarly some of Logan's stuff is considered "special"(only upgrades to +5 with twinkling) and some of it is not... (goes to +10)) - I've only tried/failed with the dusk crown though.
I'm going to see what else I can find on this save, I still have Nito and Izalith to go. I died a freakish amount of times getting Seath's tail.
I'd like to note that some items (like the tails) you don't get multiple shots to get per playthrough, but it's less obvious. Turk already posted the Chesty hat and Sack hat which are two of such items. Weapon-wise, the Titanite Catch pole is a drop from the big statue demons, but they don't respawn. There's aren't many items like that, so keep an eye out (I've got one more shot to get that pole I think).

I finally flash my chip but my cygnos nand doesnt have the right ecc in it or something. I am trying to get a read or write on the cygnos but it wantting to act up... :(

i gave up on seaths tail, couldn't quite manage to cut that dman thing off. nito didn't drop anything for me and neither did the izalith bosses, you don't actually fight her but more a series of chaos bosses. my buddy what played demon souls into the ground mentioned to me that certain items you wouldn't get till the second playthrough though so perhaps they drop something the second time around?

Well I succeeded with Seath eventually (re: my post with the moonlight sword), it was Priscilla that screwed me by falling down dead before becoming visible so I could actually see the tail to attack it.... :/
I know the bosses just drop souls, I guess I meant.. those areas would provide a potential for different loot. In this case, I got Grant and Sanctus near Nito. It also appears that the giant statue demon on the shortcut route to the Bed of Chaos boss respawns! That means... I guess you could just kill him over and over if you want to try to get Catch Pole.. that's kinda tedious though. Same problem with the female ghosts in New Londo. The males drop the jagged edge of ghost, and they're pretty common (the sword isn't, but if you kill enough of em...). The females on the other hand... there's two I think, neither are near bonfires. The drop the Ghostblade. That seems like it's going to be a pain to get.
There's a few items that I know are "second playthrough" items, but it's almost entirely just the Gwyn-related stuff. The stuff you can make with his soul, and his clothes off the guy that sells... well.. old boss clothes.

The Dusk crown + the antiquated set is an outfit worn by the lady Dusk. Similar to how the Dark Sun goes with the Moonlight outfit (note, I didn't try to do the add 1000 bit with the Dark Sun crown). I was asking more generally how much it's been tested, since the increments of 1000 made sense for normal armors that go to +10 I figured, but I wasn't sure if outfits that either didn't upgrade at all (some of the armors) or with varying upgrades (to +5, or parts to +5 and the rest to +10) would follow the same pattern.
Cygnos huh? That's pretty fancy, I still haven't gotten around to JTAG'ing the disassembled 360 on my table. Good luck!

I guess...my question is...why is the tut video not being re-uped? I dont understand how to add more items to my inventory,am i suppose to just edit the ones i have? i mean i loaded his bookmark to my user data file but..once more step 6 just says edit user_data..there are only about 5-6 threads about hexing user data on this site and 4 of them are questions on how to do it. I understand that i can swap some items and spells but im just asking how to add to the inventory.For example i want all spells,i found some of my spells in user data but does that mean i have to exchange it for another spell?

I'm going to see about adding some stuff in a bit (I need to damage things, alter durability...), but I wanted to note that it "looks" like adding spells can disable the related achievement.
On my current character (who is a mage) I added a bunch of heavy soul arrows when I first made him, and later I added some crystal soul spears and regular soul spears before I found them normally. Now, I bought and found all the spells in the game too. I got the white dragon breath, resist curse, strong magic shield, etc. -- all the non-bought spells normally.
When I picked up the last spell, the magic achievement didn't pop, however I did get pyromancy achievement when I picked up the last of those (which I never added to my game). Soooo... yeah. It's making me think the cleric character I made which I added some spells to early on won't get that achievement after I find all the miracles either. Not sure how it's being tracked exactly. Something to be aware of with the editing I suppose.
Edit: It occurs to me, depending on how they track it, that could also affect the Knight's achievement for all rare weapons (assuming that's what happened with me and the magic one). If that's the case, something to be aware of if you add any "unique" weapons to your game. Otherwise, if someone here has both edited special weapons in and got the achievement - please say so. If it just tracks the normal addition to inventory, then you might still be able to add boss souls, then make those weapons (since the weapon ID would be created after the fact in-game), but not other unique weapons.

My guess is that the achievment checks based on inventory updates and vender flags since spells are only bought, except for starting class which is an easy flagg to trigger at the start of the game. As for the legendary weapons one, my guess is that is based on inventory update/flags on pickup where in theory you would just drop the item and pick it back up to trigger the flag for that one weapon. I know i got the demon souls one from duping with magnus so it's probably that simple for weapons at least :P.

Has anyone figured out what the values stand for towards the end of the key items ID?

I understand the rest of the ID values but, but those specific values throw me off. I suppose if it is related to item location, then I could throw in any hex value that hasn't already been used? Could someone clarify?
Also, turk645, is the xex that you modded available for the rest of us to download?
EDIT: Well I've just kept the values as FFFF and that seems to work just fine, so I guess those values aren't vitally important. :bigsmile:

I'm guessing some other katana had the same damage in my bottomless chest.
General notes: Server is a large curved sword, Sanctus is a shield, they don't call the meat cleaver "meat cleaver" in this one, and the large club is the "dropped" one - the found one (great club) is elsewhere in blight town. I took the Longsword from the top of the post with the list of hex values, it's used in the example of making a weapon crystal, but not actually listed on the page... XD
I tried to reduce the weapons to base where possible, but they won't let you go lower than +5. With boss soul weapons, that reduces it to the previous +10 weapon, so... that's what I got. I suppose with the math bit they note in first post, you could probably get those to basic? +5 is good though, you can go anywhere from there.
Here's hoping someone else comes through with Priscilla.. :P

I can confirm that the orange soapstone signs are saved in your file. I did managed to edit the location and text of it. Now the fun begins of trying to find unused strings. :P this is going to be a pain in the butt.
As for the items not working once added to the inventory, if this happens then just unequip everything and requip it. It will readjust the inventory in a way that will make the new item work.
:P my structure file has hit a snag due to the one section of the file that changes length without a known modifier. Once i can get past that i can get to things like the soapstone locations. After i do some research on the strings avalialbe to the stones i will start looking into the hostile/dead npc situation. Wonder if i can trigger every npc in the game to hate me XD.

so far i cant seem to find any unused strings. Im guessing the soapstone spots in the tutorial area are scripted and thusthere might not be any hidden strings. Editing the sign is kinda pointless but it is good to know. Gestures kinda falls under the same area, good to know but pointless, when there is nothing hidden and unused.
Also seems other player's signs save in your world. I just wonder if other signs save.
Edit: Seems i just edited my signs rating. Seems the little skull icon changes based on th rating it has.

They are in the structure file i posted for hex workshop. They are the very last entries.
:P also side note. Lots of flags get triggered for hurting one blacksmith.
Edit: Well the black smith stopped attacking me.... because he is now gone. No idea what i did to make him "dead"
Edit2: Ok i think i figured it out now. There are a few flags at work here. I managed to get the blacksmith back but i noticed a few odditites. Seems that when he was attacked it triggered a few environmetnal flags as well. :P his anvil is tipped over and the sword he was holding is gone.
It seems when you attack an npc, a flag is triggered as "attacked" but still alive. When this flag is triggered the npc itself dissepears in a sense. There is another flag that gets triggered that i think deals with if the agressive version will spawn or not. I havent tested it yet but i think a third flag will trigger when i kill said agressive npc and mark him as completely dead and thus paying sins wont reverse it.
Edit3: Is it normal to have 2 onion knights at the firelink bonfire? Editing flags caused them to spawn.

each color is a float value of 0-1. Think of it as a percentage where 0 is 0% and 1 is 100%. You use a combination of decimal numbers to get your color. Since the color is in RGB format then if you wanted say yellow you would then do red 1, green 1, blue 0. Grey would be 0.5 of each. Orange would be Red 1, green 0.4, blue 0. Etc, etc.
Also i think i almost solved the issue of save difference i was having trouble in with the structure. Seems the spot that i snagged on is actually the enemy death counter. It gets bigger the longer you servive and travel to other areas without using a bonfire. Now to just map it some and see if i can properly get the structure back on track.

I replaced a Ring of Sacrifice in my inventory with a Cloranthy Ring. It worked but after I unequipped it disappeared & reverted back into the Ring of Sacrifice. I was just wondering can replace and have it stay permanent or do you have add it to your inventory?

The items equiped are seperate from what is in your inventory. To be able to use it later you have to add it to your inventory and not your equipment.

:D i think i got the structure file to go about the entire save file. There are still a few snags but they are easily updatable. Some info like the soapstones are just all clumped together at the moment while i try to figure out how to get them to group properly like the items.

Also i updated the structure on the first page. It should cover the whole save now and has a few more things labled. Some things are a little vague due to trying to get the structure viewer to properly read it.

Perhaps I can figure out how it works this time...
Going by the list in the guide, we're lacking a Black Knight Weapon, Priscilla, Ghost Blade, and the Titanite Catch Pole for the achievement (the list I've seen on Gamefaqs is shorter). Three of those are random drops, one requires a tail cutting.. if anyone is so inclined.

Black Knights drops the BK weapons, but they're specific to type of Black Knight (they'll only drop the one they're using). I don't remember if the BK Shield is on the list, but you have to get that. I think it's the regular BK Sword we didn't have (I think I had Greatsword in my last list).
Priscilla drops off.. Priscilla, you have to cut off her tail.
Titanite Catch Pole drops off the hopping, one-legged statue demons (they shoot lightning... yeah). They're found in a bunch of places, but only one of them respawns.
Ghost Blade is female ghosts, yes.

Yeah, we're missing the one that's just called, "Black Knight Sword" (which is also a Greatsword, but let's not go there).
If you've been to the Smith by the forest, that's probably the first one you'll see. There's a demon between the smith and the forest entrance. That one has a chance to drop it.. they all do, I guess the item finding ring and plenty of humanity would help.

When I was looking for missing stuff earlier, I realized some things weren't there on page 1 (so I wasn't looking for them... yeah, stupid on my part). We have the lion's share of the weapon-types, it wouldn't be too hard to throw something together.

I just went and regressed/broke down the enchanted weapons I was logging at the smith. I think one of the first posts details how to add/subtract enchants/improvements, but I wanted to keep the math (and possibility of mistakes) simple on my end.

Did you by any chance just place the newly added structures in your Hex Editor structure folder? I just did that and it gave me the same error your describing. What you want to do is delete the structures your just added then re-add them by copy and pasting them. Hopefully this will fix your problem.

First post edited added a beta save for you guys to see I am not messing around when I say I am collecting everything.
Second post edited I've tested out all the weapons/armors that have a + with it Or u can see my read me for the save i've uploaded.
This is going to take longer to get everything. Demon souls didn't have as many upgradeable weapons and shields. Again Thank you guys for posting all ur IDs. Any base ID, +5, +10,+15 or maxed weapon/shield ID please post. It will save me alot of time since I am doing everything manually.

A few thuings should be noted for the people that haven't made any progress in the game.
1. The items are in the bottomless box when you go to a bonfire.
2. Achievements will pop out of order: specifically, the max weapons attributes. So if you haven't gotten to the part when you can meet the forge dark/divine or whatever weapons, don't take them out of the box if you haven't beaten the game. Also, if you don't have the achievement for all rare weapons which requires NG+ might be obvious if you get it before you beat the game.
EDIT: for the pvp people, don't mod your hair if you plan to pvp with the fog ring. it stays bright as heck even with it on, lol.

I noticed in Turk's screen shot it would have the item id and then the item name below that. When I look at it, the item names do not display. I see IDTYPE of goods, weapon, armor, rings, and one unknown one. Below that is int32 value that I "think" is the item ID.
Also my output displays : "WARNING: Array length greater then max array length (109829) for unknowna[000000000001AD05], setting to 30000."

Im just wondering if an older version isnt liking the case statement. Also the itemid will be unknown if it's not in the file yet as well. Even though it has a large number of items, it's not entirely complete.

New here but just wanted to give a big shout out to all those who are giving ID's awesome data mining guys keep up the good work.
Secondly I would add that I have found when modding the files. If you do not close the tool you used to extract the data file and then hack and replace all the while leaving the program up and the Dark0005 open (horizon) for instance. You tend to not get so many error's. Just tryin to be helpful.

Awesome! We're soooo close to a complete list, and I've been waiting for Priscilla for awhile! :D
I wasn't sure if anyone else had noticed this, but the game changes slightly when you edit your "key" items. Or at least, your keys.
Next to the fireshrine is a small ruined church area with a wading pool and statue. It's wear the game starts, and where Frampt shows up later, hard to miss. By the statue is a chest. Normally, that chest is already opened when you show up at the shrine at the beginning of the game. Pre-looted... whatever.
I noticed when I modded out some of the keys I had (replacing them with embers that I did not have...), I saw the chest was closed. When I opened the chest, it gave me back all the keys I'd edited out (basically the Asylum keys: cell, door, etc.). I found that interesting... it means the game or the save has some sort of check/flag for what keys you're SUPPOSED to have, or already had. When removed/edited out, it actually noticed. I don't think you could possibly have items in that chest without hex-editing your game if that's all the chest does (you can't sell your keys, or drop them). Soooo... interesting, no?

Perhaps its also linked to the newgame+ where you are robbed of key items including keys,embers and bonfire tools (blacksmith gear).
I always assumed it was just a chest i had already looted in a rush.
If the 'check' could be identified you could effectively trigger a resoration of your keys and such no?, i was quite pissed it took my embers, it annoyed me enough to declare i'd finished the game.
I imagine the chest doesn't have contents so much as have a script, but i can't back that up :p
Could you check for if that includes embers as well? If it replaces those i have a cunning plan... It involves lies, deceipt and hex.
Just had a quick sniff around the games files as well, i know next to nothing about compression but im seeing a lot of plaintext in there that i can safely say are file names, its header is also clearly marked out. Don't we have someone on-site who is good at getting these things to open up? Like i said i know nothing but on the surface this looks simple. i can also identify png files inside it.

This was after I used the "inserted" embers. You lose the embers from inventory after giving them to the smiths, so, I got the keys back - and it was a return to status quo. The smiths still did the upgrades requested of them. Interestingly, if it is a new game+ thing (this wasn't for me, but if it is normally), then maybe you'd keep the embers when you eventually found them in-game.. and have them given back at the start of a new game+? I don't know how the smiths react when you bring an ember by that you've already given them.

I am getting better at this and can now mod my stats and change the quantity of items.
How do I add an item I do not already have, say twinkling titanite? Do I just find one of the areas with FFFFFFFF and change it to 4000000 + item and quantity?
if you're not sure which byte to mod, you're better off buy some items you don't have and replace them with hex worshop.

It's a little more complicated than that. Yes, you replace the next placeholder FFFFF...00000......FFFFFFF....00000 sequence with the item you want to add, but you have to add more than 4000000 + item and quantity. There is also a inventory location number and a bunch of ending 0's that need to be added after the quantity.
Krispin is right - if you are not sure what you need to add, you are better off replacing something already in your inventory with whatever it is you want to add. This is as simple as changing an item ID and quantity as long as it's weapon for weapon, consumable for consumable, armor for armor, etc.

When you run them through visual studio as a datasource you already have your name and value then.
using - as a delimiter also shaves off so much time!

I havent used Access in ages and i an very rusty with programming :P. I only took a small bit of VB in high school.
Im using excel to actually output the hex needed to insert into the game to test the IDs :P

I modded the spells uses (someone posted how to a couple of pages back). I modded the uses to 999 :) However as soon as you rest at a bonfire they reset back to normal... To find the uses you have to take your amount of uses and multiply it by 3, for example if I had 11 uses then I would go 11x3=33 (33=21 in hex) so you would search for 00000021 in hex. Also an easier way is to search for the spell ID then the amount of uses (ie. 000014BE00000021 = Wraith of the Gods spell with 11 uses).

I'm having trouble getting the save(s) to work. I change the Device, Profile and Console ID but it still gives me my original save. I dunno what I am doing wrong, I try to upload the modded save into Modio but it gives me an error message. Something parameter is not valid. Help maybe?

Yea I had mine reset as well, instead I just added more of the spells I wanted. They stack so I have 40 lightning spears. Not exactly what you're looking for but maybe that'll help.

So if I find my Chaos Fireball ID and change the quantity of the spell rather than the uses to, say 11 11x4=44, I would get 44 uses of the spell instead of 4?

You can't equip 11 spells, plus with the Chaos Fireball Spell it uses 2 slots each, so you would only be able to equip 5 of them (5x4=20).

No, I mean the spell has a quantity. If you look under the spell list in your inventory, it says the spell then the quantity, and you can only equip one of each spell, so if I change the quantity of the spell itself, would it change the number of uses?

It will only change the amount of uses if you equip more then 1 on the atunement slots. 1=4 uses, 2=8 uses, 3=12 uses, etc. Changing the quantity of the item only gives you more of the item itself, you can only still equip only 1 spell on each slot no matter how many you have.

Okay, sorry it took me so long to get that. Also, while changing my characters appearance (hair, eye color), I found that FF FF FF FF in each color on hair makes white, but for eyes it makes cyan.
Anyone know what makes white for eyes? I having no luck.

That was my fault. It was in the wrong selection and i forgot to move it to the fists section where it belonged.
You can't equip 11 spells, plus with the Chaos Fireball Spell it uses 2 slots each, so you would only be able to equip 5 of them (5x4=20).
Actually in thoery you can over stack. If the item takes up two slots in game but only 1 in the save file then you can easily go overboard with the equipping ;)

I did the same thing and was able to give myself some titanite. My last attempt ended with the game playing for a few hours and then failed to load on next game, but this one seems pretty solid. Now I just need to figure out how to edit the save itself and or/ keep the 8mb filesize, but Im not sure it makes a difference.
I was able to find all the values in the savegame using the method in the first post, but I keep getting failed to load. I had the same problem with injecting the user_data until I stopped trying to use 99 (63) for the amount of titanite I was trying to and and lowering it to 50. No idea how that was working.

Uploaded a new save and a better bookmark you can thank Turk645 for telling me that we could change the values using the bookmark. The whole 4/5ish year of modding 360games with bookmarks I've never known that. I tell you, both the times I've work with Turk645 he always teaching me something to make things faster and better lol.
Alrighty guys I need someone with xbox live to help me today the 19th around 12pm eastern timezone. I need every weapon dropped to me any from 10 to 11 times. I am not sure.

Fire +5
Chaos +5

Occult +5
Lightning +5

And to make weapons/shield with the boss souls.
Any info would be great. Also if you have aim it would make things faster too.

You know i will be helping. As for a few other things i know i can help labled once i get there. There are body modifiaction values that i know 2 are used for the dragon form but the others i know are used for the egghead and what not, just not sure what they are yet since i havent been infected.
As for the lordvessal. My guess is that the flag will be somewhere hidden in the actual gameflags and not near the top. It should still be easily bookmarked though because most of the game flags are above the data that starts to very in size.

ok i found out how to enable all warp bonfires. works even on fresh chars which have only seen the 1st bonfire. but beware! for example the princess bonfire in anor londo or the abyss are boss rooms. if you move around there you will trigger the boss fight.
how to do it:
1) you have to give yourself the lordvessel. replace an existing key or better, add this key and increase the key count
2) set address 0x0001F13E in USER_DATA to FF
KEY

start warping with your lvl 3/4

you need the lordvessel listed in your inventory key tab. if it's there and you have FF set @ 0x0001F13E then you can use the warp at any bonfire. i tested it with new chars and old chars too.

Oh, it should be noted that so far i have found 1 whole item that doesnt exist in game. It seems that there is a miracle for test purposes that has the same effect as ring of sacrafice.

Has anyone found out if you can change run speed? Also with the Dark Wood Grain Ring you can change your roll/dodge animation, maybe it's possible to change even without the ring equipped, or even find a hidden animation???

I will have it in the list when i update IDs in a little bit. As for the animation thing. It all really depends on a few things. Odds are the answer is know but it's hard telling. I need to do more research into it :P
Edit: I think i now have ever base item id. I will be updating the second post with fixed id's soon. :P i just need to get them working in my structure viewer as well.

Second post has been updated with fixed and missing IDs. The structure has also been update with the id list. :) have fun with the base items.

I tried finding my name in the con file and made sure it looked the same as the user_data file and then changing the first chain helm under each, generating a new checksum, and saving but it fails every time in the 360 hash calculator and I get failed to load in game.

The con tends to have two copies of the save. One is for backup reasons. Try searching based on your playtime. Extract your userdata first, then copy the first line in the save. This contains the play time and thus will be unique to the correct one. Then do a search for that first line in the con. You should only get one result. Take note of the offset. Then when you do the search for the items, only edit the ones close to that offset
That worked great for finding the right area Turk.
This is refreshingly frustrating... This time I just changed the level only in the user data file and the drak005 file, found the old checksum in the con, generated a new one using the bookmark to exclude in the user data, and I still somehow failed the hash block calculator.
Going to try and read everything again.

You can also look that the offset that the USER_DATA is at if you click the contents tab:

I was toying with a few things and got some funny results. If you put a weapon in place of an arrow it will show the weapon on your back. When you try to fire nothing will come out but if you use only melee then it just looks funny with a giant weapon :P
Awesome guys! Thanks for all the help. I think I was nubbing up my attempts at editing the con by not actually using the calculate function of the hash block calculator. I am getting them to load right now with some super basic edits and keeping the filesize etc.
Edit: I was able to get the save to do exactly what I wanted while retaining the filesize etc. I am ashamed to admit how much time I wasted because I wasnt clicking Calculate Hash Blocks. For some reason I thought it did it automatically...
Now I feel a lot safer about my saves :D

While I was at work I figured out I had a blonde moment this morning. I dont need anyone help online duping weapons. All I have to do its copy all the weapon data and place all the weapon in he bottomless box and then replace the empty weapons with all I have and then take all out and copy that data. Then place it all back in and replace the data and I'll have 8 sets of all the weapons we have. Then do it again for 12. It will be fast then waiting to for u guys to drop the soap...:-r

I took the beta file that was uploaded 2 days ago, and I beat the game on the file. I have collected armour and other items that where not originally on the file. It is now on New Game+. Hope this helps with items ids. Would look them up myself but not sure how so here is the save game. 3544
Also, I see there is a new beta save. What is different?
