As in my other post this one is for HEX modders working with unencypted GS from Dead Island. I gathered a lot of sample GS and needed an easy way to see both the weapon and rarity. So I created a Windows Comand Prompt program called Weapons.exe. Familiarity with other console commands like DIR, CD, and HELP is required. You can download a copy from:

http://www.mediafire.com/?ahba6cyiu2tid6f

This routine will take an unencrypted Dead Island Game Save file
and show all the weapons it contains
Each weapon will be displayed in color as follows:

Color Rarity
--------------
White Common
Green Rare
Blue Very Rare
Violet Extremely Rare
Gold Epic Rare! (color is also called Orange

Useage for Weapons Version 1.01:

>Weapons filename

It will display a list all your weapons from GS in color of their rarity.

Not scanned, and I still took the risk with my beast security. Doesn't work and no instructions. virus found inside after running. using 3 scannners. (Kaspersky, ASO, McAfee) Feel free to prove otherwise with clean version and instructions but until then, I deem this Non-Legitimate.

I desided that I would do a virus scan for you guys. Virus Total found 3 results, so I wouldn't use it. Plus like CagedData (http://www.360haven.com/forums/member.php?13413-CagedData) said there are no instructions, but if you like to look yourself click here (http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=69a9ff66509a1a9b20803723a984f2e45cb 0967dd3edabf6eea0039ef5b7e7e1-1318340930).

Edit. It works even though it shows up 3 Virus. Here are a picture...

I am using Windows 7 and I ran Defender on my folder with the executables of Weapons.exe and Midas.exe in it. this is the result:

Clean! No Virus!

I have attached a picture as well.

Instructions?
1. Download file Weapons.exe to a folder.
2. Open a command prompt window.
3. Navigate to the folder.
4. Issue the command "Weapons" to prompt.
5. You should see the following response:

C:\Download\Game\DeadIsland>weapons
This routine will take an unencrypted Dead Island Game Save file
and show all the weapons it contains
Each weapon will be displayed in color as follows:

Color Rarity
--------------
White Common
Green Rare
Blue Very Rare
Violet Extremely Rare
Gold Epic Rare! (color is also called Orange

Useage for Weapons Version 1.01:

>Weapons filename

6. Now issue the command with an unencypted DI GS, for example:

C:\Download\Game\DeadIsland>weapons gs\save_8~
Filename In <gs\save_8~>
Starting...
reading in file...
gs\save_8~ len is 6748
Firearm_AutoRifleGen Craftplan_Shockrifle

Melee_WrenchGen None
Melee_BaseballBatGen Craftplan_Sawdiscaxecraft

Melee_Fists None
Melee_WakizashiGen None
Melee_WakizashiGen None

Throwable_Molotov None

7. While they look all the same here on the command prompt the first two are white the next Violet Then 3 green and so on. Of course it will display what is in your own GS not mine.

For those confused about what a command prompt is try the following websites:

http://www.mahalo.com/how-to-use-command-prompt/
or
http://www.ehow.com/how_4432163_use-command-prompt.html
or
type "how to use windows command prompt" without the quotes into your favorite search site.

I hope this clears up any confusion.

Seems the Virusscanners don't like PowerBasic... But anyway 3 Viruses attached in an uncompressed 29kb File? Not really! But its strange that the Scanners had so many false positives, must be something with the Powerbasic because normaly only compressed and/or encrypted Files are problematic... :newsmile056:

This is what Weapons.exe says if no filename is specified.

Anything with the command prompt usually has false positives. Idk, nothing happened to me.
