The video game adaptation of the classic H.G. Wells novel has been pegged for an October 26 launch on Xbox Live Arcade, developer Other Ocean has announced via its Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=160094010750149).
The side-scrolling platformer War of the Worlds (http://www.joystiq.com/game/war-of-the-worlds) loosely follows Wells' book, but also introduces new characters and events.
