When I double click on the application is says KV.bin is not found in application directory. Cannot continue.
What's wrong?
EDIT: I figured it out, extract contents to folder on desktop.

So I tried adding items in my inventory (Weapon and shield) using the bottomless box method but for some reason I see the item in my inventory with no image and name but when I go to the bottomless box menu I can't see it in there. So I can't to the bottomless box method because I can't select the item to put in the storage.
Any solutions to this or am I just doing something wrong?

Hi Jappi,
I have some questions I hope you can answer for me please.......
Question 1. When I load another person's save into the editor it shows up fine and everything works perfectly but when I try to load my own save made on my own xbox using my own copy of the game, it won't show up/load. When I click edit statics it shows as some modded save of CMKcrazay and not mine. Why would it show that if I am loading a save of my own? What am I missing here? I want my own saves to work if possible.
Question 2. In the screen shots of the editor that you have provided, it shows HP and Stamina at 999999/999999 and all others at 999. When you hit the MAX button they show up as these figures but when you load the game HP and Stamina are only 9999/999999 and all others are at 99 and not 999. Why is that?
Question 3. When I mod my health potions and other items to 99 with the editor and then load the game, they seem to convert to a lower number when I use them (eg. I had 99 health potions but when I used one it converted back to 20) Any idea why this happens?
Any help and/or info would be very much appreciated.
UPDATE: Never mind about Question 1 I solved it. It was a simple case of human error and a misplaced save file lol!

You cannot currently add armor. The creator is still working on that part.

Hi there,
I am having a problem, please help.

I noticed as I played that the little fire symbol (saving) came up a lot with every small action I was doing to indicate the game was auto saving. Is the auto save working on your modded game? Did you remember to hit Save+FIX STFS once you were finished modding the save before you put it back on your MU etc...? Is the save rehashing and resigning properly before you put it back? You may have over looked a small detail.

You do just load the Draks0005 save dont you, you dont extract anything from it first?

Well I just loaded Draks0005 into the editor as per the instructions I saw and it worked so I'm guessing YES to that question.

Just started to work, think it was either that I was not rehashing resigning after editing or was using the wrong program to transfer saves.
I was using USBXTAFGUI_v44 but used Horizon this time.

My problem is; I can move my save onto my USB no problem and can extract the file using USBXtaf, then I can edit all my stats (to a reasonable level to stay challenging) again i can move the edited save game back onto the USB (usbxtaf) however after I put the USB in the Xbox and move the file to the HD when i start the game my save game doesn't appear and I can only select "new game" rather than "load game". Could this be a fault of usbxtaf or the USB or even the Xbox?
I remember trying to import data for FIFA 11 and a similar problem occurred, therefore I guess it is the USB's or Xbox fault

Hey that's great news! Glad you fixed it. Yeah I use Horizon all the time. Sometimes it can be as simple as using another program etc. Have fun!

Your explanation is sort of confusing but generally I play from the USB, transferring the data might mess things up - also, are you saying that you completely lost all the data you once had?

Not sure exactly how to help you but something important to note is that when you hit Save + Fix STFS look at the bottom left of the box and wait until it goes through all the empty slots and make sure you wait until a box pops up and says everything is finished - there is something else that happens after the empty slot part that takes literally a couple minutes (forgot what it says).

Good thing the program creates a backup file. In answer to your question I do select the USB when the prompt comes up. Also (I could be off here), I think what you are saying is that you modded the save right from the start? As in an hour from the very start of the game? Anyways here my procedure if it will help at all clear things up
EDIT: I should also make it clear that when I first did this I did transfer my save from my main HDD to the usb (which was completely empty) proceeded to edit and then always kept my saves and stuff for Dark Souls on the usb
- This is using the USBXTAFGUI_v44. Create two folders (preferably on desktop), one for the actual game save, one for backup
- use the usb explorer to find and select the correct drive, then inside the selected drive keep clicking until you see the DRAK0005 file
- on the DRAK file, right click and extract this one file to both the game save folder and backup folder
- open up the editor and hit file > open, search/select the DRAK file from the game save folder and hit open
- select the DATA slot, each representing actual save/character slots from the game, and it is usually the data slot with no numbers following it aka the first one unless you have created more than one character
- proceed to edit stats and click save on that menu
- once you are done editing hit the Save + Fix STFS button and wait until another popup box appears that says everything is done (you can see this working in the lower left hand of the editor)
- after this last box has appeared and you hit ok or whatever I hit file > close, and then file > exit
- going back to the usb explorer/xtaf thing, still looking at the location in the drive where you can see the DRAK file (that is on the usb) in the actual xtaf program, right click and delete. Now, in the spot where the DRAK used to be right click the white space and hit Inject. Find and select the DRAK file from your game save folder (which is the same place and file the editor worked on) and click open and it will inject it to the spot. Now hit close and then exit the program. I now put this back into my xbox and when prompted select the usb when playing the game

Yeah it worked just like you said. To test it I let an enemy hit me until my 9999 HP got down to 0000 and sure enough it went straight back up to 9999. Thanks for the heads up on that one. Much appreciated. :-l

I've just been informed of something pretty interesting that may benefit this mod tool when you finally have the option to add in armor.
Apparently any armor that typically is non-upgradeable can be set to +10 regardless and it will Rename it to ?ProtectorName? along with the stats on it scaling as if it were a normal armor being upgraded.
i.e. Smough's armor now gives 848 physical defense.

I have a feature request, though. I was wondering if it was possible to edit the attributes of your items directly? Eg, change the damage a weapon can deal, or give it poison effects, or allow a shield to be able to block 100% of fire damage, etc.
This sounds like it would take quite a bit of work... Actually I'm not even sure if it's possible in the first place. If it's gonna take up way too much of your time Jappi, please disregard this. The editor is already awesome as it is. It would just be even MORE awesome if you could do the above. :D

this save editor is alright at best the work putinto it was extensive but its still missing a good deal when you try to add any wepons ar and equpable item for that matter you need to know the items current durability and max durability problem is that i have ye to find a sight to show that the main problem is max bcause the number is no higher (from what i have seen) is 7 but the current durability is always in the hundreds so it impossable to tell what the number could be

What I have found is that if you set the durability higher than what it is, say 999 for everything, most times after you use it it will automatically set itself to the correct durability. Need confirmation though.

Confirmed, I just tried it out, however, it seems if you give yourself Gwyns Soul (Spelling fail), you can not get the option to give it to the Sunlight Covenant for Sunlight Spear, it also seems if you give yourself any spells you can not Attune them, anyone know a way past this?

Spells are working fine for me, I'm having trouble adding items, the SKS worked, but none of my paintings stuff added or my catalyst. I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong with the durability. stuff just looks nameless and takes on the picture of nearby items on the list.

Make sure your adding a value. Also, that happens to me whenever I add an item but the real item is there somewhere.

When adding Ore it does not add the proper Ore. It adds something exactly the same, but the ore is no recognized by the NPCs when trying to use it to upgrade items. I tried with Twinkling Titanite and Titanite Chunks. I DID have both of those Ores in my inventory, but they did not show up in the search. I added them from the drop menu to empty slots and they show up in seperate slots, meaning I had two stacks of the ore, the hacked one at 90 and the in game aquired stack at like 5 or something, the 90 did not show up when talking to NPCs and still did not show up after dropping the in game aquired ore. My theory is that the code is not the proper code as the search is not recognizing the existing ore. If you're short on time I wouldn't mind running my HexEditor and finding the appropriate code for some of the ores. Anything I can do to help, thank you again so much for this release. I've been using it to build characters for fair PvP. Lvl 20s, 50s, 120s and 200s. Having lots of fun.

Which search option are you using? I ran the little bit of everything.txt, and any ore I was holding showed up in the search results, which in turn let me add all the slabs to empty slots. In game everything worked fine.

I was browsing around to find an editor for Dark Souls... this program seems to be the answer to my prayers (no more grinding for souls or ore) but I do have a question and dont know if it has been answered. I have the PS3 version of Dark Souls... will this program still work with those saves or not?

You may need to upload your save for us to look at. When you say corrupt, do you mean it won't load at the start of the game, or you can't load it in the character load screen? I am wondering if it is the CON file (meaning you may have an issue in moving the save back and forth) or your character data (meaning you messed up something).
First, try just copying your save off the drive, then putting it back on without editing. If that ends up corrupt then you have your answer.
If the copy works, try making some small adjustments like setting souls to 100 or something. I remember people having some issues when they tried to set stats to crazy high numbers.
I myself haven't had corruption issues since the first editor, even after completely ruining my inventory on several occasions.

best dark souls save editor ever but i found a bug with this save editor idk if if 4 ever 1 but when i mod armor on i get back in the game and it not their but it turn into a invisable weapon help :raage: other then that it is awesome :have a nice day: :help3:

I got the editor to work but with a new save. I don't have a copy of the corrupt save so sadly i cannot upload it. I know that it wouldn't load at the start. I tried modding little bits and it worked with souls but corrupted if i touched something else like hp or any of the others. I noticed that the file size drop to about 4.36 instead of being 8.51 as I usually see it. So since i was at the beginning after the tutorial i figured making a new one wouldn't hurt and it worked. I have a quick question though can you decrease stats or level? Thanks for the reply though.

Thanks a lot jappi. The editor worked perfectly on my first try. I only edited my stats though. Had my heart in my mouth before loading it off the USB since I wasn't sure if it would work and I did not want to lose anything.
I used Roren's steps on page 27 of this thread. But I used Horizon instead of Xtaf since someone in this thread (don't remember who) said it worked better for them that way.
Hope you guys can help out if I run into problems in the future.

Yeah you would think that they would get that part but still not many do. It's one of the most important rules of modding......BACK UP YOUR SAVE! It's common sense actually lol!

For example - for a Brigand Hood + 10
Change the entry from 000000000000C35A to 100000000000C35A
The easiest thing to do is a global substitute on the whole file replacing the first 0 with a 1.

One more minor thing if you're planning an upload is that the White Soapstone has the wrong hex code - it should be a 64 not a 65 which is the same as the Red Soapstone.

Thanks for all your hard work,,easy to use interface,but it seems like the item editing is not working , i added few items, somtimes they don't appear at all, and even if they do you cant equip them? and if I try to purchase any additional item ie arrows or spells I get a message that I cant hold additional items!! any ideas how to fix? plz

Thanks for this! I wished I found this post first. Used the other save editor and it corrupted my save when I was 8 hours into the game! The save here takes much longer but it is well worth NOT CORRUPTING YOUR GAME!!!

One more minor thing if you're planning an upload is that the White Soapstone has the wrong hex code - it should be a 64 not a 65 which is the same as the Red Soapstone.
EDIT: I'm going to investigate the problem with the Arrows while I'm at it - as that may be something similar. I'll report what I find.
EDIT2 : Yes, it's a similar problem - all the entries in the Bolts & Arrows.txt file begin with a 4 but they should begin with 0.

well... i was just done with the update.. testing stability now.
but there are a few things fixed, code related.., speed while saving is sadly not improved , and will still take a few moments to save the file.
the speed cant be optimized :( till packageIO 2.0 comes out :P
for now i added a few things to make it easier , and fixed the Hex Id for armor/arrows.
update will be released within 30 minutes.

I had to move the Upgrades.txt file from the keys folder to the Armor weapons spells folder in order for the scan to recognize what I had in my inventory. So, if anybody else is having that issue, move that file.

EDIT: all of the upgrade items that I added to EMPTY slots don't get recognised at the blacksmith/bonfire unless you first drop them and pick them up again.
Something is wrong with the upgrades. Possibly because of them being in Keys etc. if I mod them in all my keys stop working and any new keys just don't add to my inventory, tried this with 4 new characters and none of them could leave the asylum lol... just a heads up so you can fix it i'm sure it's just the location of the file that's causing the problem as in the 1.9.0.0 ver they all add fine.

perhaps you set the durabiliyu too high ? tried a lower value ? like 150...
when i use the durabiliy, i get a broken weapon message as well , but still allows me to use it , or if i set the value lower then no broken message will appear.

So in other words I cant set durability extra high so I wont have to repair a weapon/armor? If I set it to it's "official" durability it shouldn't appear broken? I tried repairing the "broken" 9999 durability armor/weapons but they wont show as being repaired.

Yes and Yes - that's the theory. I did have an instance recently after adding some Armor and I set the durability too low, the game recognized that the armor needed repairing but it wouldn't repair it. However, a few moments later, it would. I'm not sure what the trigger was but I've certainly seen situations where the game doesn't acknowledge certain things immediately after loading some newly added items. An example, adding 99, say, lightning resin - they would be in the inventory and they could be used from a hotkey but the game wouldn't interact with them using the Item menu i.e. "Use Item" or "Drop Item" - then a minute or so later, it would.

I've been leaving the Max Durability as 0 without any problems (jappi is really the only one who'd be able to tell you exactly what is going on with that field).
The only bits of kit that I've seen with really low durability are the Crystal items. For example, an Uchi normally has a max durability of 80 but the Crystal version has a max durability of 8. It would appear as though the max durability for the Crystal items is 1/10 of the other flavours of the same item.

The unable to "Drop Item" situation was what I was referring to earlier - immediately after starting the game with the newly added items, it can take a minute or two (or some trigger) for the game to fully acknowledge the items.

It worked fine but some problems i had:
Some times it doesn't add the items i added or it adds them but not +5 or +15 etc. basicly the enchants are missing.
Also my savegame got deleted 10min. ago i was adding some souls so i can get 120 for PvP and then i started the game back up and my savefile were gone. i also tried the use the backup file it opened but when i saved it it also got deleted. :( 200+ hrs gone!
I knew the risk and i can just lvl again no problem. but if something like this happens again how do i save the backup to my usb? the usb only contained a folder named Xbox360 with like 7 files in it all named Data1-7 or something like that. Do i just copy&paste the "DRAKXXXXX" file in the folder? or is there something im missing?
But still the editor works like a charm "most" of the time.

oh and for eveyone else. don't add to much stuff at once. when you add for example twinky titanite before you can use them you have to drop them.
i didn't read the whole thread so sorry if someone else pointed that out already. Add item > Drop items > Pick it back up and you're good to go!

Well Dang IT! I've been playing for about 2 hrs and my Ornstein armor and swords/shields are still broken. When I try to repair them at a fire they will not show up as needing repaired. I still do not have the option to Drop them and they will not show up on the menu of the Bottomless Box in order to deposit them into there. Any fixes? When I loaded them I did their true durability. One thing I did discover is that on items like Divine Blessing that will only allow 99, you can just make another stack of 99 in an empty slot. Might be old news. But seriously, if anyone has an idea why all equipment I load shows as broken let me know please!

as i posted on page 35, drop the items and loot them then the game knows that you own the items and make them usable.
if you dont have the option to drop it, how did you add them? i add them like this
Name 1 > Dura 100 / 0
then i drop the item loot it and it works fine.

Hm, maybe I'm just not using the editor correctly? I'm selecting the armor list from the upper left dropdown and then selecting the armor items I want in the bottom left dropdown and entering the quantity in the box to the right of that and durability and then clicking "Set" to add it to the slot. Is this correct?

Generally speaking, it's still best to only increase the number of spells you already have rather than giving them to yourself outright as the game is a bit odd about dealing with items added artificially to your inventory. You can try various things like switching between human and hollow form and quitting and re-starting and hoping the game sorts itself out eventually. (also try dropping and picking the item back up, if that is even an option for spells)

Well, I was finally able to load some unbroken armor and weapons by using a brand new save file that I did not alter stats on. I'm now testing to see if altering stats after loading armor/weapons breaks them. I might add that when they were showing as broken they all had full durability and were not actually broken.

This is a brilliant Tool but I am having issues with Upgrade Ore. The Titanite isn't being recognised, the reason I am doing it this way is because the weapons I add seem to broken no matter what the Durability. I added the Gravelord Sword and it seems to be unrepairable. Is there a way to get Titanite Ore to be usable because I need Slabs and Twinkling Titanite in large quantities to Mod my Weapons.
Again, great Tool but I need help with this please.

I myself do not have a lot of posts (at 360 Haven) but still have access. Problem is most likely intermittent. Just give it a little bit of time and see if that changes things. I would not go and artifically inflate your post count.

I think it has something to do with the Hex Id's for spells. For instance I bought Crystal Homing Soul Mass and when I compared the one I had and the one I edited in, the ID's were different and only the one I bought showed up in the attunement menu

hey guys this is a great editor, i think its just me :P im having a problem scanning my items it won't show the ones i have in my inventory, it shows when i only scan for free slots but thats it. i can edit my stats tho. but it wont let me choose my item list, that box is just all grey and wont let me click it. when i click on an item group key and key items for example it says could not find path, if someone could just go into
detail a bit on how to bring up my items and add new ones that would be greatley appreciated :) but nice job so far i hope i can get it.

Scanning doesn't show ores in inventory. If you try and add any they will be unusable and undroppable.
I added weapons to empty slots, however the durability slot appears to be misleading. Items I know that have 250 durability max are listed as having 9 or similar. When I try and set this it will appear correct in game but the weapon will always appear broken, unrepairable and undroppable.
Armor seems to suffer the same fate. Rings appear to be fine, probably due to the lack of durability but may need someone to confirm.
Scanning seems to work properly, though I haven't tried to edit items that are already present (quantity or swapping them for another).
There is also no simple way to restore a backup, causing me to go other routes to do so.

i tried just scanning all free slots and that worked, but then i tried to scan my inventory and when i picked any item type nomatter what one a notification popped up and it says path noth found and some other stuff. and then when i try to hit choose item list nothing happens that whole box is gray. but dont get me wrong this is a amzing tool and its probobly just me :P

Thanks for the great editor! I ran into quite a few snags - one of them being save-breaking.
Magic added into an empty slot cannot be attuned.
Several consumable items became unusable/unsortable when the quantities were altered to 99. I reset the order of the inventory in game, and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Adding the Lord Vessel to your inventory from an empty slot permanently kills your save. Every time I save and quit, then reload the game, the save state is reverted back to the state of just after editing. No progress can be saved. When I try to reload the save in the editor, it tells me some parameter is out of range. Unfortunately, before it decided to tell me the save was bad, it overwrote my backup so all my data was lost and I have an useable save. Luckily for me, I made a backup image of the USB drive before tinkering with this and will be able to put myself back to where I was. I suggest making sure the save can load into the tool before overwriting the backup with a potentially bad file.

Hey guys mod newbie here, I attempted try the mod by adding a single weapon to my inventory. However once I started up my 360 the USB was listed as not being formatted for use on the 360 (I had done this prior though obviously to transfer my saves). So I reformatted the USB and now am trying to transfer the backup file onto it. How can I manage to do so? Any help would be appreciated as I'd really rather not lose all my progress.
EDIT: Never mind, turns out my 360 doesn't read the USB unless it's put in the port at the back of the 360.
EDIT#2: I've run into an issue when trying to edit my stats, whenever I try to I get this error message.

The editor works perfectly for me it is so amazing thank you for taking the time to create this. The only thing i noticed was that the gargoyle shield and all it's variations are not in the editor at all. Could you please edit the item database to include those items?

Hey guys mod newbie here, I attempted try the mod by adding a single weapon to my inventory. However once I started up my 360 the USB was listed as not being formatted for use on the 360 (I had done this prior though obviously to transfer my saves). So I reformatted the USB and now am trying to transfer the backup file onto it. How can I manage to do so? Any help would be appreciated as I'd really rather not lose all my progress.
EDIT: Never mind, turns out my 360 doesn't read the USB unless it's put in the port at the back of the 360.
EDIT#2: I've run into an issue when trying to edit my stats, whenever I try to I get this error message.

what i can see ...is that your theme may not support the app GUI

The editor works perfectly for me it is so amazing thank you for taking the time to create this. The only thing i noticed was that the gargoyle shield and all it's variations are not in the editor at all. Could you please edit the item database to include those items?
you know you could add your own items ? hence i made seperate text files , witch should allow users to modify/add their own Id's.

Yep looks like the problem was the custom theme I was using, changed back to default and works fine now.
This works fantastically, I've already finished the game multiple times and now would like to start getting into PvP. This editor is a great way to quickly create and test PvP builds that are still legitimate.

Titatines .txt files still need to be moved to Weapons/Armors/Shields/etc folder to be shown in the editor list and found when scanning. Added spells cannot be attuned, only the changed number of already-learned spells works (ie buying a spell then changing the owned number of that spell results in all the copies of that spell attunable).
Jappi I think I have a "personal" question to ask (don't think others should have the same problem...). Before using the 2.0 version of this editor I used another one made by you and Cybersam, I mean this http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/3897/immagine1wc.png and this http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/6344/immagine2uf.png , I only used it to change the amount of souls. Anytime I edited my save with it, I always had to put the save in my Xbox HDD (through transfer kit) and then move it in my USB Memory Unit to make my save work (if I put directly in my USB MU the game does not save, always reloads the point when I left to use the editor, and if I leave the save in the HDD the game fails to load it). Now after I edited this save with both your 2.0 and 2.1 editors the game freezes when finishes to load and shows my character standing up just before taking control of it. Do you know anything about fixing this? Maybe is it a problem related to your old editor I used before 2.0 version? I noticed that the game freezes when the autosave picture in upper-right corner appears, because I tried to make a new character and the game freezes when it autosaves just before taking control of character; I also tried to load the save and then remove the USB MU, resulting in the game not to freezes but showing the message that the autosave function failed because it did not find the storage device, thus taking me back to title screen. I don't know, maybe the old editor has a bug that pseudo-corrupt my gamesave when saving and rehash/resigning it?
Sorry if I wrote a lot and if my english is bad (I'm italian), if you find out something please tell me! But please do not waist much of your time, do it if you want and when you want, it's not really important because I can play anyway, I finished the game 3 times and have done everything, it's just for a random-playing with my friends (-: .

Absolutely Major Game Breaking problem!!!!!
Okay it seems that if you edit a certain number of items 46 or more I believe in the versions 2.0 and 2.1 it stops your keys in game from working for example you mod 50 items to your newly made character in the asylum the key you pick up doesnt appear in your inventory and if you pick it up before hand it will not work... this goes for everysingle key in the game.
hey, I put a lot of items on empty slots, mostly weapons and armor but only 3 items appeared in my inventory in the game, how come?
Make sure you hit save between switching from say armor to weapons otherwise all that addin items will disappear.

I tried to add only the Paladin set +5 (to not being easily killed by the first boss) and it worked fine, anyway I share your advice and I would also say that adding Lordvessel should crash the game (I did not test this but I read this state in one of the first pages of this thread).

I want you to know that for some reason editing a certain amount of items into Versions 2.1 and 2.0 cause all keys to stop working.No idea why it works fine with 1.9.0 I am using that version currently with the armor and arrows etc. from 2.0 since it doesn't support the :Dur anyway just a heads up. You should look into it. Great editor though love it! I can become any class I like without starting all over again and any misplaced points are now corrected =) You saved me around 70 hours of my time thanks so much!

Found a problem with the mod tool. Been working beautifully up until now though. I went through some of the hex offsets and looked at the Spells.txt and the uhh...magic.txt. Some of the offsets are different. I did a test with Power Within, Toxic Mist & Poison Mist with Chameleon. I was able to put on Chameleon. But The other three won't mod, I mean they mod but it shows up as 0 in the Uses list. But there's 999 of the item. I understand maxing out is a bit extreme but I had to test it. I'll post a picture here in a bit to show you what I mean about the spells. Also when I go to Attune Magic, the spells don't show up at all. Is it because there are no uses for my spells? I don't get it. Since I opened my inventory as you can see in the picture and it shows they're all there, but when I got to Attune. Nothing is there at all.

Just got a hold of the 2.1 Version. Gonna try it out to see if that's one of the bugs that was fixed. I'll update this post. Since there was another member who had a problem with Attuning Magic as well, I hope Jappi fixed it. Thanks for the mod tool too! :) Great Job!
Just tested 2.1 on Spells. It bugged my save so I can't load it now. I'll have to delete it, unless I try a trick of mine. I tried adding just 99 Chameleon Spells to my character, I can't do that. It ruined my game save, so I hope Jappi fixes this. Spells should have an ability to create the number of uses.
Ok. Once again I tested the Attunement for Magic and it still doesn't work. It shows up in my inventory and doesn't Attune. So Jappi please take a look at that when you decide to make your next update. Everything else works but I would like to be able to blow people up with a couple hundred chaos fireballs. :D That's all I have to report.

Xenoith the "0" on the left of "Uses" is not the number of times that spell can be used, it is the minimum Faith stat required to use that spell. The number on the left of "Slots" is the numer of times you can use that spell.

Here's the thing though. The Magic won't attune to the Attunment slots given. That's why I am a bit upset. I want my magic spells. Lol.
It puts the magic in my inventory, I go to attune the magic and it's no where to be found. Ghost Item I do believe it's called.I will have to dig further because there is an issue with "Ghost Items" as mentioned before. I want my spells so I can finish my ninja character.

Duel Wielding Priscilla's Daggers
Chameleon for Ambushes
Toxic Mist to keep them at bay or to trap them when coming out of Chameleon
Power Within to finish the job quickly. That's all I want. I'm going to keep trying this mod tool until it gives me my results. It did it before, why won't it do it again. Oh how woe is me. Someone respond to this, thanks.

Well I think it is a bug, I read that other couple of people had this problem too. The backup folder is located in the same folder you put the editor.

Yeah I'm having the same issue with the Download Section being down. Is there a possible way to have someone make another link? My saved file got corrupt via high winds and I'm very pissed at that, I don't want to have to start from scratch... =/

Here's a tip......make a copy of your save outside of the editor in a another folder BEFORE you even open the thing up. Modding common sense........ALWAYS make a back up before you even start modding. Don't always rely on the editor to make a reliable back up.......even if it does.

Sounds pretty down to me. ;p I made my account last night and downloaded Snuggy's Barter but that didn't help me at all. It's telling me "You are required 7 semi-quality post before downloading more than 6 files from the downloads section in one day.", so that would mean I have... 5 more downloads I think?
But anyways, it won't let me download. This editor looks better than a lot of other editors I've seen (Meaning more options, freedom). Well, time to "try" to not spam and get more posts then, and hope that I can download it because I'm tired of looking Naked in DkS. XD

I was having a similar issue where Attune Magic was not an option in the bonfire menu for a deprived class, but I started a pyro and was able to swap out spells ok. I think the game won't flag you as having magic if you get it outside the game? *shrug*

Help! All keys have stopped working and I'm stuck in the Archives prison cell! Is there and fix for the keys? I have 2 copies of the Archives cell key in my inventory but both doors just keep saying Door Locked when I try to open them.

Maybe you have the wrong key? I know there's like, 3-5 different keys for different spots in the Dukes Archives..

Not sure if there is a fix, you will have to start up a backup and see what addition messed up that portion. You will also notice that you can't pick up keys either when it gets bugged like that.
I have this happen when I play with either materials for upgrades or try to add magic. Just be very careful what you add, or just stick with editing weapons and armor. Adding items is a hit and miss, it is much better to wait until you get one, then edit the number you have.

I need someone else to confirm that the magic spells are alive and kicking on Dark Souls. You know when you set them in the editor and then you go to Attune Magic, they're not there. Please someone show me what I am doing wrong. I really want these spells. ;A;

Well can he make a manual for his editor? I'm going bonkers here. The only thing I need to know is how to make the magic in game work, what does he pick on the editor since there are two choices. Spells.txt and magic.txt

i'm tired of hearing that people cant get it to work because of a human error.

I hate to be the thorn in your backside, I was just saying throw in a redme.txt in there so people know what to do when using your mod-tool there Jappi, I love the tool itself, just some parts are confusing. Hell I give you props, if you were to sell this I'd buy it since it's that good of a mod-tool man. I just wanted to know how to attune the magic properly so I don't have to keep trying to do trial and error with the saves, I am not doubting that you didn't test it, but different things happen for different people. That human error can be easily fixed if you let us know what to do mate.

Set All values will set the ammount of all your items with the edited value.
for example... you edit 50 in the first textbox and hit set all values , then all your items listed in the listvieuw will have 50 as ammount.
the same goos for durability.

if some items do not work means its a bad ID... to fix it , you have to change the id within the textfile.

Wow, you guys are really on top of things! I got this when it was version 1.9 and when I came back to check again it was at 2.0 and today I came to download it and it's already at 2.3! Found a problem, the scan interface blocks off adding ores and such, so when I click on the key items and hit Scan, nothing happens. It leaves it blank.
Last night in the 2.2 Version an unexpected turn-about. I added spells, went to the fire and was able to attune what I had put in, I don't know how it happen to come about, but it did. It made me happy. Is it picky? Jappi I'd like you to show an in depth tutorial of how to add and attune magic. Do you have to do it on a fresh profile or one that is used, what are the requirements. I'm dying to make a spell caster here. I tested the 2.3 version for the spells, same effect as usual. It adds the spells to my inventory, but then afterwards when I go to attune, they're not available. Must I make a video to show that I am no fool?

Found an earlier brought up issue. With the mod tool, adding Keys/Key items, bugs your game.
-Adding Peculiar Doll disables Painted World availability, kept saying "Contraption Will not Move" when tried going into the painting. I even went out to the Asylum to fetch the key hoping to fix the issue, still didn't work when I went back to the painting, making my efforts for naught.
-Tried accessing the Depths by adding Depths key, did not work, resulted in the door being locked and unable to open it. Once again I fetched the key and this did not solve the issue, the door staying perma-locked at this point.
-Adding White Soapstone to your inventory in fact is a bad idea, instead you will get red soapstone, I am not sure if that is an item ID issue. But please give some feed-back.
-Characters will be PERMA-BUGGED In Duke's Archives if they try to mod the key into their inventory to escape the cell, I killed the serpant and tried to leave. It said the door was locked, I didn't get the key from the body, although my character made a motion like he picked up the key, resulting in a game breaking glitch. I tried leaving via Bonfire, you can't, thus leaving your character in jail forever.
I also came across another bug, adding weapons/armor. I added Logan's Hat with Durability of just 300 into my inventory, when I put it on it said "Armor Broken!" Went to go get it repair, infinite loop of trying to repair that and other weapons, such as Moonlight Greatsword+5. You can never repair these weapons even with repair powder and the spell Repair itself won't fix this, it's a bug that perma-breaks your weapons/armor.
Jappi you'd do well to fix these ASAP if not, players will end up not being able to progress forward due to the Mod-Tool's flaws. Please address these problems when you decide to update to 2.4. Thanks - Xenoith

The White Soapstone issue is one that I mentioned earlier in the thread - the ID is set to 65 but should be 64.
Regarding the infinite loop, the official durability value has been added to the text files so there should be no reason to get that wrong in the future and it should be a simple job of fixing your current durability by re-editing the file.
A couple of general comments about the other issues.
Firstly, there's no way to make something like this truly bulletproof/crashproof/bugproof because of the nature of the reverse engineering that is going on. Certainly, there are many items in the game that are more complicated than just an item in the Inventory. As a result, the user needs to be potentially aware of these. For example, the Peculiar Doll is probably linked with returning to the start and/or the killing of the Stray Demon so unless both of these are done, it's not a valid item. Similarly, with the Depths key, this is probably linked with the killing of the Capra Demon. The only way to realistically do anything about this, is to remove the specialist items from the text files. I've resisted adding specialist items for this reason.
Secondly, I would expect that if you edited the game save and removed those items (or changed them to something else), it should return to normal. For example, if you remove the fake Doll from your inventory, does it then work with the real Doll ?

The tool is doing wat it should do...
About the attuning skills.. it work for me everytime i add spellse.. either with magic.txt or spells.txt , both are the same.
i tried with the begining of the game( first bonfire ) or later in game.
If anyone experiening problems, then upload you save so that i can look into it.

i added the doll as i could not be bothered to go back to the start to get it once i was in anor londo. i also found that certain items although added into inventory do not become active untill the point in the game where they should be. i also had a clitch in the dukes archive where i got the key legit and then it disapeared and i then had to add it the editor works well but you have to bear these small problems it does not spoil the game though.

Attune Magic worked for me!
First of all, Jappi, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this wonderful program. Can't express in mere words how much more I'm able to enjoy this great game because of your fantastic tool. Please keep improving it.
Now, for those of you that are having problems with not being able to attune your spells/magic, here's what worked for me after several trial-and-error. Like most of you, I tried adding certain spells like WoG or CMW in the EmptySlot, and tried to attune it at the bonfire without success. The WoG and CMW show up in my inventory but are not available in the Attune Magic screen.
To make it work, try this:
1) In the editor, scan your magic or spell items.
2) Replace one of your existing spell/magic with the one you want, choose quantity, then SetItem.
3) For example, highlight Homeward (or anything you don't care for) if you have already have it, then use the drop-down list at the bottom and choose WoG (or whatever you want to replace it with), set the qty (like 2, 5, 10, etc.), then click on SetItem.
4) Save Changes, then File> Save + Fix STFS.
5) Load the save and at the bonfire, you should now be able to see the spell/magic in the Attune Magic screen and add it to one of your open slots.
6) I replaced several of my existing spells (like Homeward, Heal, Hush, etc.) with more useful ones (like WoG, CMW, Crystal Soul Spear, TWoP, etc.), with quantities set at 10.
7) Again, it worked for me only when I REPLACED AN EXISTING SPELL/MAGIC.
Try it and let us know if you're successful too...

Well like I showed yesterday, I tried putting in a spell for Attune Magic, meaning I was generating it raw, I don't think it has a set place to go once the tool writes it so it stays in your inventory like an item. I will try your method Casey and I'll once again post a video, I'll do this with a PyroMancer or a Sorcerer. Since they both get spells.

you need Net framework 3.5 or higher... if you dont know , use google and search for Net Framework 4.0 , download and install it.
if you already have the netframework , then it may be a compatible issue... what system are you running ? x86/x64 ?

sorry to say it but it doest matter... when replacing a old item, the tool writes a whole new id , so if you replace a items , then it would be the same as adding a item to a empty slot.
olso , i've downloaded your save , and i was unable to load it ... its corrupted somehow...
can you upload a new save ?

Nah I'd never do that, then I couldn't be in Jolly Cooperation with Solaire anymore.
Only suggestions I can give for the next version would be a "Give ALL" button. Something that would give you all keys, or armour, or weapons. Might cause issues with things like the Lordvessel.
Sorry Jappi, I don't want to bother you but, just to know, did you read my "long" post in page 40? Just to know.

Here's a photo tutorial on how I was able to replace existing spells with new ones and attune them at the bonfire:
1) New pyro character named Casey.

2) One spell in Inventory at start of game.

3) At bonfire in Firelink Shrine.

4) Saved game to USB stick, used Horizon to extract save game to Imac running Windows 7.

5) Used your AWESOME tool to open the save game, went to Attributes and maxed out Souls (to purchase spells from Petrus) and added 90 Humanity, saved and loaded the game back onto the USB stick via Horizon.

6) Loaded save, found Petrus, joined covenant, and purchased spells from him.

7) Leveled up at the bonfire to gain additional attunement slots (+10).

8) Saved game, extracted via Horizon back to Imac, opened up the save game and scanned for magic items (shows Fireball and the spells I purchased from Petrus - Heal, GHE, Homeward, Force, and Seek Guidance).

9) Replaced Heal/GHE/Homeward/Force/SG with WoG/CMW/TWoP/Sunlight Spear/GSD, all with qty set at 10.

10) Loaded the save game and inventory now shows the replacement spells with qty of 10.

There's the feature that I mentioned to you in a PM a week or so ago - the ability to import a custom/user defined list of items/weapons/shields/armor. It would be specifically for PvP purposes for me but other people can use it for any purpose.

you can already just add a custom txt file in the item directory..
you have 2 folders in folder "Items" ... 1st : "Key & Key Items" , 2nd : Items, weapons, shield, armors, spell
create a custom textfile with items and put it in one of those folders... it should appear in the itemlist chooser.

what i already did to 2.4 = added "add all loaded items", witch means , one hit on the button and all items from the loaded list will be added.
so you can make that custom list and add it to one of those folder i mentioned , and load that custom file with the itemlist chooser, then hit add all , and all your weapons will be added.

Scan for Magic that YOU ALREADY HAVE IN GAME!
Find Magic - Swap it out for something in the pre-set item roster that you want.

If you have no magic IN GAME and you go to scan for magic in your inventory, none will show up since you well...have none.
If you go to put magic in (under the current bug issue) you'll have it but you can't attune it.
In the video I showed this already. You can't make something from nothing. Meaning if you have no magic to begin with, then Casey's trick doesn't work for you.

Very easy to fix even if your starting class doesn't have spells:
1. Start a new game: get yourself to the firelink shrine (I.E. past the tutorial)
2. save at the bonfire and give yourself max souls + Humanity and any other items you want to add in the editor.
3. re-load your save and go to petrus and buy all his spells. optionally, go down to New Lando Ruins and buy the spells from the blacksmith.
4. Edit your save again and change the spells you don't like/need to the ones you want.
4.a be sure to set the amount you want, but don't go over 99 and never change the durability.
beyond that, I think you're just going to have to accept the limitations of the editor. (really, even if you did nothing other than give yourself max souls, you could easily get everything else you might want in the game in a few hours anyways, it isn't that long once you know what you're doing.)
@Jappi: honestly, I'm not sure you could add anything else really, aside from having someone go back through the item text list and fixing the address errors with a few items. It's golden as far as i'm concerned.

If you have no magic IN GAME and you go to scan for magic in your inventory, none will show up since you well...have none.
If you go to put magic in (under the current bug issue) you'll have it but you can't attune it.
In the video I showed this already. You can't make something from nothing. Meaning if you have no magic to begin with, then Casey's trick doesn't work for you.
like i said.. you dont really know how the tool works.
bigboots idea works just fine..no need to have spells or wathever to use it.
you want all spells ? hit scan only emptyslots , hit add all , then hit save... and you have all spells.

jappi, one further question about that forthcoming 2.4 import feature. How are you planning on handling the quantities (if at all) ?
It would be nice if the quantity was automatically set as well, based on the following.
For weapon, shield, armor, spells - the quantity should default to 1
For consumables such as divine blessing, green blossom, etc -the quantity should default to 99
For arrows/bolts - the quantity should default to 999

Default value will be 1 and durability 0
you can just change the value in the value box and hit sett all.
Maybe i'l add the function if i think it will help.

Is there a way to edit the Titanite chunks, slabs etc.
I have managed to collect 1 of each (red, green, etc) but they do not show up under ores when I scan my save.

first of all.. you have to choose Type to scan , then choose the itemlist that contains your items, then hit scan.
if the loaded text file does not contain your item , then it wont find it.

Jappi YOU make a TUT showing me how to do this. I sent you my Save. Getting a bit irritated with my responses being thrown aside like I am too stupid to use your tool. I even showed you video proof. Unless you have some form of the tool all to yourself that allows this "Add all" function. I don't even see it on the Mod Tool. Unless of course 2.4 is out already.

its not out yet , i'm finished tho , but writing a guide to use the tool at the moment , and testing stuff myself.
will be released when i'm happy about it.
