hi guys, I have a little doubt regarding the titles updates, is there any problem if I transfer the TU to the HDD of any game before playing or installing it?, it won't be somehow overwritten if I install the game later?, I don't have the transfer cable so I have to disarm the HDD, connect it to the computer, transfer the TU, etc..., and it's a bit tedious doing it every time I want to transfer a TU for different games, so I was wondering if I can dump a bunch of TU to the HDD even if there's no data of those games and be assured that when I get the game it will use the TU I transferred before.

hope I was clear enough and happy holidays to all :)

Wont make any difference at all, the TU files will just sit dormant until you load a game that requires them. I used to do it all the time before I started using Freestyle Dash and never had any problems.

As longy already pointed out, there's no problem with putting TU's on your drive now, but since you mentioned the HDD disassembly being a tedious process for you, I figured I would add a few, quick points:

If you're adding TU's for recently released games that you don't expect to play for a long while, there's a fair chance that those updates will be outdated by the time you actually get around to playing. If you're hoping to have the latest TU when you do play, you will likely have to repeat the disassembly/transfer process anyway, and you'll have to make a point to locate and delete the older TU's as well (unless drive space is of no concern, of course).

If disassembling the drive is a headache, you can always use a USB drive + XTAF to move files. Or keep the screws out of the shell and use an external SATA reader, which has the added benefit of providing a hefty speed boost when transferring large amounts of data. You can also get a transfer cable shipped to Mexico off the likes of eBay for $5-$10 nowadays. Probably all common knowledge, but worth mentioning nonetheless.
