SORRY I dont want to piss ppl off by recreating their well time spent made Save Editors..So i will STOP makin them until something new comes out. but im sure someone more experienced will beat me to it anyway....So if u wanna take my developer title away thats fine, cause i prolly wont get the chance to make one seeing that all the advance developer's will make theirs first..It was fun but it seems like im steppin on overs shoes...So Seriously i really am sorry and u wont see or hear about another Save Editor on this site from me again...But i will still be very active posting in the forums and stuff...Red Hulk is out PPPPPPPPEEEEEAAAACCCEEEE

i thought this site was for everyone to post their work for ALL to enjoy i honestly dont see the problem with having multiple save game editors .... as long as they all work and dont give random errors

if this is wrong well .....:x_x:

Who the hell has been bitchin' about you making save editors? Who gives a toss what others think. You're doing a good job dude. That's what we like to see, the more contributions we get on the site, the more of a team we will become. You can make as many editors as you want. Nobody will stop you. After all it's for your own benefit. You are learning as many of us did.

How many other tools have you seen EVERYWHERE that do exactly what the others do. Loads, the internet is filled with information. Keep going.

I see what you mean, but respectfully disagree, if the "Advanced Programmers" are getting pissed that some1 wants to make a game save editor by yourself- even if there's is already released so what. if they are that threatened they should have spent the time to make there's far superior than it is, because a great programmer is never afraid of a little competition, as well as updating there existing programs....

I thought you were doing amazingly good why stop now? You shouldnt care what anyone says we love you tools! Whoever has been telling you to stop is just jealous! KEEP ON MAKING MOD TOOLS MAN!!!

Everyone's gotta start somewhere and if releasing a couple of tools for some older games first is what helps you learn then go for it dude. I for one think that your doing a great job so far and look forward to seeing what else you do.

Keep up the good work dude:baba:

I completely agree with everyone. No sense in crying over spilled milk on stepped toes here and there lol. Practice makes experience. I haven't seen a developer whine about you making tools they've already made. (I could be wrong).

Regardless, keep up the good work man (as I've already said lol). I can tell you're getting the hang of things.

Ok.. does it mean you are not gonna build a tool ever again? if yes then i have to take the developer rank away from you
Don't stop making tools, keep up the good work :p

lol yea, thats exactly what I did a LONG while ago, made an AiO for all of my "Warriors" editors.
Just never got around to updating it since I moved onto bigger and/or better projects. It was more of a personal AiO anyway (since I still play all of my "Warriors" games).

But thats true, you could do that. :)

Seph beat me to it.
Found my old AiO (Pre-Release) Template I made before releasing my "Warriors" AiO (that I stopped working on) back in the day lol

But basically, that Video (should have the necessary files for you to Start an AiO).

Thank you sir, I was thinking of updating it with just "Warriors" games strictly instead of the random ones i threw in there lol (if I get bored and have the time lol)

lol i did wat he did in the first vid but those extra controls dont showup

Easiest solution to that is Drag and Drop the DevComponents.DotNetBar2.dll in the toolbox of visual studio. then it will show.

(Assuming you're writing code in VB and not C#)

Under the file button, label one of those text your editor name, double click on it. Once you've done that, type
GIJoe.MdiParent = Me
GIJoe.Show() go to the solution explorer, right click the very top file, go to Add, then Windows Form. Copy and paste everything from your existing GI Joe project into the new one within your AiO. Then name is GIJoe.vb
you should have one editor in your AiO now

Not really, the visuals are stored along with the code, they are seperate but are stored as one, nothing will need to be changed and if you do it will be very minor.
You can on the other hand completely rebuild the visuals so instead of launching a form per editor you remake the current one, theres tons of ways to do it but i guess the easiest might be panels you just hide and show with all the editors specific controls on, or hell you can recycle the same controls and just put editor code in modules or giant if statements.

I like designing editors the best, coding not so much but its not hard and i pretty much just copy and paste from my older works now anyway and just throw in something for science.
If you want to do a collab sometime hit me up, im working on an xbla game thats piss easy to work on i just can't be bothered.

Can't stand ribbon controls myself, it seems so pointlessly fiddly for what is basically a cheap graphic trick, same with wpf, great transparency options, piss poor compatability with the users.

I can understand how a person would feel if they were working on an editor and you might have released yours first: they might have wanted to make theirs be the first out and could get a little upset about it. But I can't imagine that it would go any further than "well shucks, I guess mine won't be out first, good work" and then move on. There's no reason in the world for a mature person to make a fuss about their work not being the only one.

So yeah, unless you yourself just don't feel like making editors anymore, then there's no reason to stop. I understand that the only ripples you want to make in the community are the good kind (I feel the same way) but if somebody is making a huge deal about something as benign as who has the best editor for such-and-such game then you'd probably be doing the community a favor by running them off via butthurt. The mature programmer wouldn't fight back with mean words, they'd fight back with honest competition, or better yet they'd attempt to team up with you.

If, at any point, you mention making an editor for a game and somebody says "I'm already making one for this game" then make yours anyway. Chances are they're just letting you know that they're already making an editor so that (A) you don't get upset when you release yours only to have theirs released as well, and (B) so that you don't feel as though you have to make one or one won't be made. Besides, you never know, your editor might be better than the other person's, or it might do more things, or even different things. All's fair in love and war, as they say.

good words...yea i love doin them i just learned 2 weeks ago and now i cant stop so if anyone did get mad i honestly wouldnt care just dont like type argueing lol over the internet.....either way a few to alot of ppl respect and enjoy my work so look for more editors as i just released one for Sonic generations, as u seen already lol...
