Dead Space's iconic weapon is unlockable in Dead Space 2

There's definitely something to be said about mowing down hordes of enemies with a familiar weapon. To that end, EA and Visceral Games are bringing a tinge of death-dealing nostalgia to Dead Space 2.

EA have announced that those who still have a Dead Space save game will be able to unlock the original plasma cutter right at the beginning of Dead Space 2. It'll only be the vanilla plasma cutter, though. None of the upgrades you gave it during Dead Space will carry over.

Remember that any Dead Space save will suffice. You don't need a completed or clear save to unlock the plasma cutter.

Dead Space 2 is poised to come out on January 25, 2011.

i played the game and finish it on the pc ones and on the 360 for times and i get all the achievement .. this is a really beautiful/creepy game ..

i just need to get ds1 for the ps3 again. since i already the downloaded version on the 360.

Hm... Maybe I shouldn't have blown all of that Christmas money on system upgrades. I knew it was coming out soon, I just didn't know exactly how soon. Thanks for the heads-up, I'm off to start my saving right now :P

Well without the upgrades, Mr. Clarke would have been rather frustrated at the terrible, terrible hardware :P
