Report - Battlefield 3 Spans 2 Discs On Xbox 360

Yes, we know. Another news story about the number of discs a game will take up. Last week IGN reported that Skyrim, Bethesda's sprawling world populated by Dragons, will squeeze itself nicely onto just one Xbox 360 disc.

Battlefield 3, DICE's graphically-intensive shooter, however, may require two discs. The incredibly reliable source for this news is a Japanese poster, spotted in a shop and posted by Hachimaki, which lists the Xbox version as shippin on "DVD-ROMx2".

It also states that the PlayStation 3 version comes on "BD ROM x1". Obviously it's not clear whether you'll have to change discs mid-way through the campaign or whether single-player and multi-player will be divided. Apart from stoking fanboy flames, does it really matter if you have to get up once or twice? Let us know in the comments below.

i have played a lot of multi discs games and dont have a problem with them, like u said doesnt take much effort to change the disk so im fine if Battlefield 3 is on 2 discs, nice post keeping us up to date Sterling :)

I dont mind more discs if anything it feels more better for some weird reason lost odyssey had quite a few discs and was a FANTASTIC game

final fantacy xiii - 3 discs
halo 3 odst - 2 discs
forza 3 - 2 discs
gta 4 complete - 2 discs

I have no problem with 2 discs, but hopefully it will be like ODST with an MP disc. I think that would be better than switching out in the middle of the story.

They're most likely going to split SP and MP up into their own respective discs because it's probably the only logical way to do it if you have to have two of em in the first place.

I don't it matters too much, the game looks awesome....

I just hope the game isn't let down with cacky servers....

that's not a bad idea but I do not think that is so, so I wonder is whether they can install both and use a single disk to avoid having to be changing, it will be? I think
