Valhalla Report - Operation Darkness Save Editor
ok guys...
here is it is ^-^
the first version of the Valhalla Report (Operation Darkness Save Editor)
http://www.undiscoveredland.net/xbox...kness/main.png
http://www.undiscoveredland.net/xbox...characters.png
_________________
this version contains almost everything that can be edited
well at least most of the things i found so far...
this version uses 3 text files to list the items and skills
if you find new items or skills you can add them below... they are sorted by the id...
again change them at your own risk
putting skills with an id number which is too high might cause you console to shut down
some info about the exp
as this game saves the exp a bit differently than any other game
the exp you see is not your actual exp
it looks like it's the difference between how much exp you've earned in your level and how much you still need for the next lvl
but you can put a high value there and once you start a battle you will receive lvl ups till you see a number greater than 0 at the til next lvl display
-
worked like a charm thanks :)
Ah crap the enemies level changes with yours so if ur 255 so are they :( and they do the damage of a 255 along with it
-
Looks nice, too bad weight can't be changed, I love that one unique sniper rifle that does insane damage, but it weighs a ton, takes forever to get that character's turn.
-
well there is a way to go negative with the weight value...
i experienced this with some item Ids
but as there wasn't really an item showing i thought this might lead to unexpected bugs or anything..
-
Nice editor awesome job cybersam

It depends on how far you are in the game and how you build your characters. I usually make Edward as a sniper, besides the enfield no.4 sniper rifle and 98k ZF there's only one other sniper rifle you get in the game which is the PTRS1941 Custom. It hits like a truck, but unfortunately it also weighs as much, so your turns will be few and far between using that gun, I usually stick with the enfield, a few snipers positioned well using cover>ambush can pick apart enemies before they get close to you.
For the werewolves, just keep the bazookas on them, they do crazy damage when they're transformed sometimes taking out a tank in one shot. Late in the game when you have all the spells you can lose the bazooka on Keith and use his modifed explosives ability, just fill him up on grenades.
Jude and Frank I usually use heavy MGs, but on this run I'm going to try using the PPSh1941 on them, it's a submachinegun with damage almost as high as the heavy MGs and weighs less. Later on when you get Frank's last spell which is a large area spell just use that, it's got good range, and hits very hard.
Cordelia, use whatever till you get a few spells, then just give her a few grenades and use magic with her. Other than that I usually grab two recruits right at the start, the female can use sniper rifles so I grab her and another random guy, they're good pawns to use when tanks are on the field and another sniper is always helpful.
Attack and HP abilities I use for all of them then the other two depend on the character, like MS+ and focus for Cordelia etc. The best item is the Black Crystal it restores full HP/MS.
Hand of death is the best grenade, though smaller blast zone than regular grenades, excalibur is the best sword.
-
Ugh i cant find a set up of weapons that doesnt freeze the game when i try to go into battle anyone know of a good strong set up like what 5 weps what 5 items and what 5 skills to use for all characters? oh and thanks Dannyboy for telling me about the sniper :)
-
You don't really need 5 weapons on each guy, a gun and a few grenades is usually good, the more weight the slower your guys show up in the turn list. Try bazookas on Gallant and Keith and PPSh1941 on the others except your snipers, you can add a few grenades to each and/or a melee weapon, for items, the infinite ammo item works as long as you don't unequip it, use that for anyone with guns and some rockets for the bazooka guys, then fill the rest with healing items dragon scale, black crystal etc.
-
what wud u suggest for the skills?

Attack+ and hit+ for everyone, the the other two should be based on the character, like marksman for snipers, MS+ and focus for Cordelia.
I tried changing skills on the editor and they reset, it was just auto-restore. Maybe you need to have a certain amount of skills first? Tried the vehicle weapons and they don't want to work with any of the characters, can't drop them either.
-
Yeah and im not sure but i think its the strange ray that makes my game freeze when i go into a battle :(
-
AMAZING WORK!!! Definitely gonna pull this game out again!
-
Looks like you managed to make the game moddable. Nice.
-
well the game was mod-able all along... just the checksum was a bit weird...

Re: Valhalla Report - Operation Darkness Save Editor
Thank you so much. I sign up to the site just to get this save editor. This game was kicking my ass with the lack of being able to revive team mates with items. Right when I was usually at the end of a mission then poof death.

THANK YOU!
Really, I can't thank you enough, I loved this game but it is a pain level grind, now I can simply enjoy it and not get stuck on some insane mission.
Kudos for a great job and once again, thanks a MILLION!

Same here. I didn't think anyone would bother with an editor for this game.

Re: Valhalla Report - Operation Darkness Save Editor
Having used this editor to beat every single story and nonstory mission I want to clear up some misconceptions about this editor and the game both of which are amazing if used together. 1. Only nonstory missions, of which there are many, will have enemies that auto level with the character. You can use this editor to max your level avoid story missions and be godlike compared to everyone else as long as you keep your weight down which you are going to want to do anyway as having a high level means having unlimited magical attacks so most of your characters won't be carrying weapons with weight or if you are carrying weapons they will be light as certain characters special attacks require early light weight weapons. So if the autolevel thing bothers you, you can avoid it. You will miss out on many skills but 50 levels above everyone else means that not having those skills won't mean a damn thing in kicking ass and taking names. 2. A story character with max level will be overpowered compared to the enemies you face at your same level on non story maps, so using this editor you can use to breeze through game non story missions because your characters will still one attack kill everyone while the badguys will take 5-10 attacks to kill you. 3. There is an item called black crystal which revives you with max hit points and sp which are your magical points. If you have the first skill equipped you will have five automatic resurrections with max hit and magical points if you use this editor to give yourself max black crystals. If you have five crystals to each character you will take anywhere between 40-100 attacks before you are killed unless you are run over by a vehicle but as long as this doesn't happen to three main characters you can revive these people with Herbert. 4. Yes the editor stops working before you get the final three story characters it's actually Vanhellsing not Lewis that does this, but if you take those characters in a nonstory battle they will level up to their max level very quickly if everyone else is 99 so they will catch up to your party very quickly as long as you train them in the nonstory battles. 5. In story THANK YOU Cyberslam for this amazing editor that works amazingly well. - See more at: http://www.360haven.com/forums/showt....vMqFPdgX.dpuf

Re: Valhalla Report - Operation Darkness Save Editor
Any advice as to why no matter what computer I try to use this on I keep getting a Microsoft Framework error? I'm running Windows 7 on most of them and they're also updated to Framework 4.5.
- Knight
Edit: Ignore my question, I redownloaded the file from my current computer and it works great now. Appreciate the editor and the work it took. Heard that the checksum was a pain.
