(BETA) Omerta stats editor
This editor will take an effort to use but it will mod the current stats you have for your boss & henchmen easily. It will not mod the balance of money,beer,guns...etc. It is combined effort & I'd like to thank Red Hulk for his hard work. To use this editor you will have to follow these steps:
1. Firstly make fresh save on a city map this will not work on any other save.
2. You will have to extract your save twice firstly through horizon or modio & then using offzip.exe (If you have difficulties just use my tropico tutorial as a guide)
3. Open Up the editor & highlight only the number & not the the comma or space inbetween of which stat you would like edit then type over (do not use the delete or backspace buttons or you will corrupt the save). Be careful of what you mod....modding Mp (movement points) will have a loop effect in the combat part of the game. You can mod the salary of the henchmen by scrolling down the editor. how to use
4.You need to reverse the steps use packzip.exe & modio to inject files back into the save (Tropico as a guide)
5. Rehash, Resign & transfer back

Thanks Guys, Yes Technowolf this game has zlib compression & thats a great idea. I know another site is working on 1 but I bet you could beat them to the punch.

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
Thanks Guys, this still in beta stage we thought it was a good idea to release an easier way to edit your stats early (for those who know what they are doing). Eventually I would like to release something like this:

Jappi88 thank you so much for your offer, as I mentioned in my PM my coding skills leave alot to be desired. Omerta 3 would be out before I finished this editor. Please reply back to start the improvement on this editor.

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
Here is what I am getting in the editor. This is after I use grep and search for Boss.
return {
BossName = " The Ho",
Clean = 0,
Difficulty = "medium",
Dirty = 4356,
District = "4_Absecon Lighthouse",
IsAutosave = false,
NoPluto = false,
display_name = "Absecon Lighthouse, 31 Jan 2013 12:06",
dlc = {},
filename = "00007.sav",
timestamp = 1359651974,
}ZLIB??
Am I missing something?

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
Thanks Guys, toocool check you visitor messages. Just a quick note & I'm thinking you guys already know this but I'll say it anyway. I am not sure what the max stats is for legit gaming but we do not need to edit our characters severly I gave my guy a level of 25, all stats 25 & health of 250 but no movement points because level already adds to MP. I got to say he is excellent to play with no troubles with turns if I need money he does the heists no probs now I'm really enjoying this game.

Thanks for the editor agent zero. Quick question: I cant seem to figure out what Im doing wrong. I unzip the file using offzip and get the dat file. I edit it and use packzip to compress it back. Use Horizon to replace in original file and rehash/resign and each time it corrupts the save. I have even tried not using the editor at all and just unpacking the dat file and then repacking it. Same result. Is there a step that I am missing?

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
Idle read the instructions carefully you can''t double click, use backspace or delete to edit you must highlight the stat, level or salary number number then type. If you change = space or , you will corrupt the save its rewriting the dat. As I hinted in brackets this editor is not noob friendly

See that's the thing. I read that in the instructions so that's why I tried to just unzip it and repack it without even using your editor and it still corrupts it. That is why I'm asking is there something I'm doing wrong with offzip and packzip. (BTW I did take a look at your Tropico tutorial first before asking and looked at the youtube link as well). Even just unpacking and packing the dat file back in corrupts the save for me and I can't understand why.

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
My advice to you is just run offzip/packzip on another pc & see if it works or you could try using modio to rehash & resign with. There could be a number of reasons why this is happening.

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
Just got the game gonna try this out!!! Your awesome

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
I cant even get my save to unzip. do i need to be at a certain point before i start editing my file? i keep getting an error in offzip that says "0002.sav" is not valid.

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
If anyone has this working can someone post a starter save please. I have tried for hours and not been successful with the unzipping part as I get multiple files and have only found my money thus far.

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
I've been quite enjoying this game myself, had a good sniff around the save and i reckon it might be worth looking into extrapolating everything from the offzipped file into a buffer and ripping bits of it apart so the name for example, if you were to shrink or extend it would need to be accomodated for anyway.
Keeping this in mind if you treat everything you don't change as static and try to keep it in as big-a chunks you can manage you can stitch the whole thing together really easily.
I'm probably stating the obvious here, i am quite sleep deprived at the moment.
is the length from the start to for example where it says return, static? would make it a lot easier to carve the data up into usable pieces, rather then work on my own project i'm quite happy to throw my hat in the ring on this one if you want it, otherwise i'm going to sit back and probably fall asleep.

Hey, 8ball yes if you were to alter the name it would have to accommodated

Yes it is static

The issue Red Hulk & I found is the expansion of the save as the game progresses. I'm pretty sure Jappi88 has started something new I'm sure he would love to hear about this.

Re: (BETA) Omerta stats editor
after unzipping i have over 400 files
how could I know which one is the stats for my characters? or should I try each of them :-/
edit: ok, got the wrong save xD
but after editing and repacking I still can not load the save, it event doesnt show the name of the boss
the only thing i edited is the salary of Squigs from 15 to 05 :(
to repack the save i use this:
...\packzip.exe -o 0x0000d010 0000d010.dat 00021.sav
is it correct?
