Code:
The Tool is selfexplaining else additional Information is provided in the Readme.txt...
Like always i also added a nice little Tune, which i adapted a bit to fit better, lol...
Code:
Also there was some clutter after the compressed Potion in some Saves i had which seems
to be only left over clutter because its not needed for anything, my Tool does the compression
cleanly so its not there but is 100% identical else, so i hope its indeed only clutter else i don't
know what it should be because the compression/decompression works without it and the hash
is perfect too... So please test it and report if it works...

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
Interesting! I am going to try this out now that this game is free for XBL Gold this month.
So you say it's text editing instead of hex and it's easy, huh? I like the sound of that!

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
I attempted to modify the "credits" and "xp" but it didn't work, it just tells me to start the tutorial again (which ultimately means the save has corrupted) - any help or advice?
-
Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
This tool simply doesn't work, I've tried everything to get it working with no success.

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
Awesome tool but I am so clueless on how to edit anything once I have it decrypted lol! Any advice or help on how or what to mod would be appreciated.

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
WARNING!
This program will corrupt every save file you decrypt and encrypt. 100% confirmed NOT WORKING. Please do not use it until it gets updated.
Thank you for trying, I am looking forward to using the tool when it gets updated.

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
You can open the file with notepad and search for "credits" and "xp" - there's not much you can do to be honest, most of the items are identified by numbers only, not names.

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
After reading that it corrupts Saves i rechecked and i can't find anything wrong, the Hash is calculated 100% correctly and the Data compressed correctly,
and the Encryption is Trivial anyway.
The only Thing i can't verify 100% (i don't have the Game) if the Clutter at the End of some Saves, some have nothing after the compressed Data and some
have Clutter that may vary from 3 to 152 Bytes, those Bytes are after the compressed Block and because the Game itself loads only the Size saved in the Header
and then decompresses and then only verify the decompressed Data with (SHA256) the Data after the compressed Block is 99% only leftover Buffer Clutter.
Also some Saves have nothing after the Compressed Block which for me only confirms my assumption, the same also apply for the other tiny Files, most have
nothing left, some have, but all decompresses correctly and completely. My Tool saves the exact compressed amount so there is nothing left.
So it would be nice if someone could test if a non modified save (only decrypt and reencrypt) will load or not, if it does then everything should be ok and it may be
a Problem of what was edited, if not i will recheck that supposed Clutter at the End and for that i will need some more Saves to test. Because else my Tools produces
the 100% same File, if a Save has nothing left at the End and it is decrypt and reencrypted with this Tool, the Files will binary match 100%, i even exactly reproduced
the same Compression Level and everything.

i have successfully used your tool a number of times over the last week or so for editing my xp, money and also adding weapons and items and not had any problem at all it works perfect.
Anyway as you asked for a tester iv just created a new save file, extracted all 3 files from the save then decrypted then reencrypted each of the files (even though only the extend.sav is needed for editing), injected/replaced them back into the save and loaded up the save fine. What i did notice was the save started at 2mb and after being decrypted and reencrypted it was just 80kb but still it loads fine.
Nice tool mate thank you =) if you require any save files for the game let us know ill sort some out for you

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0

Ok, first thank you for the Answer, so its like i supposed its only clutter, but c'mon 2mb is a bit much?!
I also rechecked in IDA and there is absolutely nothing apart of decrypting(Trivial Xor by fixed 4 Bytes Value) the two Sizes (compressed size, uncompressed size) and the Hash(SHA256) and also then they load the compressed size of the compressed Block thats all... After that the Block is decompressed and the SHA256 is used with a large Salt over the decompressed Data, if it matches there are no more checks.
So yeah, there is nothing and it should indeed work fine.
But 2mb is a bit much, especially because the Buffer they use is max 32kb and they expect the uncompressed Data to be less or equal 8kb, on compression they save the Buffer that was calculated by zlib expectation, this may be the the Clutter because sometimes it matches sometimes not... My Tool can get the Size of the compressed exactly, so there is no Clutter, apart of that the Files matches 100% if they are not modified.
The Saves i had to test was all relatively small (2-3kb) so i can't really imagine why there should be some with 2mb and even 80kb is a bit much, also i really wonder how you even loaded the Saves in this Tool, because i limited the Filesize to 32kb max (max Buffersize of Game itself), so you can't impossibly load 2mb or 80kb Files, so i suppose you mean 2kb compressed and 8kb uncompressed? Or do you mean the Size of the CON File? If so that is possible, because CON Files can grow like this and if injected/created freshly and resigned the Size can suddenly be corrected to what it should be.

yes thats right i diddnt explain clearly what i meant its the CON file that was 2mb the extracted files i used with your tool are nowhere near that size and remain the same size before and after they are decrypted and reencrypted

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
works fine for me but i think some shop unlocks are reache a certain level based so does anyone know the level xp for each level
plus i would like to know some of the better setups currently going with laser and ripper with the heavy armor sometimes with sniper cannon usualy with the highest gun emplacement mostly shotgun on the lower levels assault on higher levels.

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
Thanks for the work, Vulnavia. I personally haven't gotten it to work, but that might be because either resign/rehashed when I didn't need to, got too ambitious with PlayerWarChest Count editing, or just tried to add ItemIDs that don't exist. But as soon as someone figures out proper editing of those I'll give it another go. I wonder if the extend.sav of the Steam version's files can be decrypted and encrypted with the same tool?

Preferably someone who has the Double Fine Trenched Newsletter bonuses (Double Fine Paint job, Battle Hair, Roadie Jacket), as they're impossible to get legitimately now. They're the items I was trying to add via trial and error.

Sorry, not sure how much XP each level requires since XP seems to fill up rather quickly on the results screen. Regarding setups, it really depends on whether you're defending a building, yourself (Survival mode), or fighting a boss, I think. Also whether or not you're playing alone. If you're playing with others, you might want to make sure you're all on the same page regarding turret deployment as scrap isn't shared. Currently, I just pick piercing snipers and explosive shotguns and drop machine gun turrets all over, using Sprint+ legs in regular battles and switching out the shotguns for artillery with Fortify++/Quickload legs in boss ones.

Alright lol ok so im using Horizon So i get my save off my usb drive i load it up in Horizon go to contents tab extract the extend.sav file where it has the credits i decrypt it using this tool i open it up in Notepad i search for credits which is 425 at the moment cause i just started this game i mod the the crdits from 425 to 10,000 save the file load up the tool again reencrypt the file go back to horizon right click the extend.sav click replece file replace it with the newly modded file click save, rehash, resign then click save to usb stick load the game back up on my xbox. Everything is Corrupt. Did i miss a step or something some better instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Iron Brigade (Trenched) Encrypt/Decrypt Hash Fixer v1.0
I would really like an item id list if possible, as of now the only way to tell which item corresponds to which number for me is to compare discrepancies between mine and my friends file
