I watched the entire video already. My USB doesn't register with the program. So I have to manually load the save file and idk what to load. Also if anything needs done to the save file before loading it. Like decrypting or something. Or if it's just plug in and start editing.
latest tu seems to remove effect of mods so editor is now not very useful. item damage #'s remain what they were, but damage and effects now limited.
What about gold (for mystic) and paragon?
hmm found some info on the official diablo 3 forums about what happened to the mods we all had :( this was posted by another forum goer)
All legit items have only 0 to 6 ID codes for affixes.
Before the update, items could have up to 32 affix codes even though no legit items had more than 6. Modders would fill the 32 slots with the best affix codes, and bam, a sword with over 50 million dps.
With the recent update, now only the first 6 affix ID's will be read by the game. Modded and soft modded gear within the 6 affix code maximum are unaffected by the update.
Example 1:
There's a modded Blackthorne's Duncraig's cross with 200% critical damage that every dolt has on the console. The modder who made it replaced the original 75%-110% crit damage code that was on the amulet, with a 150-220% critical damage code from a two-handed weapon. The amulet still has 6 affix codes, so it was unaffected by the update.
(Likewise with the Natalya's reflection ring with 183% critical damage).
Example 2:
Soft moded Homunculus before the update:
104-479 Damage
552 Intelligence
277 Vitality
81 Resist all Elements
12% Life
-9% Damage from Elite monsters attacks
11% Critical Hit Chance
Reduces cooldown of SummonZombie Dogs by 20 seconds. (Witch Doctor Only)
Reduces cooldown of Gargantuan by 12 seconds. (Witch Doctor Only)
Homunculus now:
104-479 Damage
552 Intelligence
277 Vitality
81 Resist all Elements
12% Life
-9% Damage from Elite monster attacks
Reduces cooldown of Summon Zombie Dogs by 10 seconds. (Witch Doctor Only)
Reduces cooldown of Gargantuan by 12 seconds. (Witch Doctor Only)
A legit homunculus only has 5 affix codes.
1st code for around 270-308 Intelligence
2nd code for around 270-308 Vitality
3rd code for 81-85 Resist All Elements
4th code for 12%-13% Life
5th Code for 8%-9% Damage from Elite monster attacks
The modder added an affix code for 270-308 Intelligence. It is still on the homunculus after the update because the game reads the first 6 affix codes.
The game does not read anything after the 6th affix code, so the rest of affixes that were modded to the Homunculus are not on it anymore.

So Reapermech, if I've understood what you've said, everything should work if it is limited to 6 affixes? After reading their dance (on their forum) about retroactive item changes I had thought it was more comprehensive than that...not doubting what you say, just making sure of my understanding. And thanks for publishing the info here.

i have been toying with that for about an hour now and there is a way around this i think : if you have a weapon add 3 sockets to it. put 5 more affixes to the weapon for the 6 total , then take the marquise ruby and add 6 affixes to it then load the game and accept the update then add the rubies in it should work thats what im trying to do right now
and in fact this method of changing the stones too works took a bs garbage axe doing 3 dmg(no other affixes it was a starter weapon) put on 3 sockets, huge min/max dmg x2, 400-460 life per hit x2, 170-220 crit dmg x1 4 affixes total then i modded the marquise ruby with +%dmg x3,9.5% crit chance x3 loaded the game accepted the patch . the axe was now labeled at 2,105 dmg i then added the rubies its at 3,521.7dmg with 7 affixes that are all working .
so we may have a work around to the new patch until they catch on to this loop hole
I don't know if this is the right place to put this.........I'm trying to soft mod d3 items on ps3 gamesave... the only problem is i can't... i have bruteforce and d3 decrypter.. but i run into the file extensions .hro.layer1 (i have no clue what this is) but i can decrypt it... and open it in a hex editor... but when i encrypt it (and again) I load it on my ps3 and nothing changes (no stats or anything.. i was wondering how to soft mod after patch 1.04 on ps3... any help would be great
okay, I don't think we can trust the damage being reported in the inventory because wpns I had shown 45-70K damage and its obvious they are not inflicting that much damage. I'm not sure the damage reflected in the inventory is correct.Also when adding the sockets I haven't modded the game in a while but I had understood that if you used the 3 socket option rather than the one socket option 3 times it (the editor) was corrupting the saves.From your comments I guess that's no longer the case or you hex editing the save rather than using the editor? Hope your work around works, and thanks for your work.
im using jappis editor , when i apply sockets im using the 3 socke affix in the database . also you cannot apply more than 3 of the sam affix to an item it will only register 3 ingame. also i went through and thoroughly tested the damage on hard master V on the mobs i am doing well over 100k dmg crit with just cleave with no other mods

Can all types of effects be added to stones? If not, does anyone have a list? Also what items can have the +0.25 attacks and it actually works in game?
you can add any affix to any item using hex or jappis editor just try not to make a lag weapon (attacks so fast the frame rate crashes). i would suggest crit chance and crit damage with small amounts of attack speed no more than 2.00 on melee and no more than 3.00 on ranged toons
My monk was at 7.80 attacks per second pre patch. I never saw any problems, but I don't play online with other gamers. I'll keep future toons within your suggested specs.
Any monk modders willing to post their gear with mods and also their modded jewel specs? My build strategy will fail online it seems. I just kept adding dex, +att, res all, armor, + min/max damage, +life per hit..until I could solo inferno M5.....I need a complete toon makeover it seems. :(
well with the new game coming soon with all the new items and abilities its really a waste of time to farm good items on D3 until you pick up reaper of souls .. if you check the Diablo forums on what they have added with this expansion you will really cry when you look at your legit inventory lol (i have already the new barb gear along with the new crusader class are just super tanks)

Tried using this two separate times now, Once I'm able to load the save file directly from my USB, I do very slight minimal modding, just to test. Once I click save, and make a backup, it tells me "Object already exists".. What should I do?
its asking if you want to overwrite your other save if you already have a backup file saved somewhere it is ok to overwrite it
Yes, items seem to be limited to 6 effects. Multi-effect codes seem are still a way to somewhat bypass this.
I do have a question for you, how do you go about modding gems? I tried your method and I got a ruby with a name along the lines of
"Marquoise Ruby requires grammatical form from caller" which, upon socketing, grants no effects other than those which would be normally given by a marquoise ruby .
What am I doing wrong?
using jappis editor im just adding 6 affixes to the gem then only putting it into a weapon anywhere else it will give default value

if you have a patched save game you cant mod the gems. you will need to do this on an unpatched game save . to get the affixes to stick mod only 1 then hit ok then add the reselect it in your stash and add how many you want

I'm new to 360 heaven and I tried my best to search/sift through the 100+ pages of comments.
I couldn't quite find an answer to this though.
Now that blizz released details of their transfer utility, I notice they missed one critical transfer option.
I had a xbox 360 but now only have a ps3. I kept my save file on USB but was planning on getting the ultimate evil edition for PS3.
Can this tool export my 360 save and recompile it as a PS3 save?
Maybe export my full profile from the 360 files.
Then make a ps3 save on my ps3, then import the full profile?

I see it being like this:
Player updates 360 save file to latest version.
Player creates ps3 save file with latest version. (maybe with a lvl 1 barb or something.)
transfer 360 save with all content to PC via USB.
transfer ps3 save with all content to pc via 2nd USB.
program exports save profile from 360 save.
program imports save profile to ps3 save (overwriting the level 1 barb previously created in the doner save file).
This is a new update on an issue im still having with this tool. Originally it was telling me that the tool had corrupt data. Now its telling me
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Unable to retrieve the ItemBlock."
when I try to load up the inventory editor. Any fixes for this? would love to be able to use this tool again, it was working great up until recently and since I donated to be a VIP member to use the tool I would like to get my moneys worth

is there a tutorial for how to use this editor for ps3?
So I haven't really dealt with the update yet. Or rather, I did update my game, and lost most of the mods. I still have some weapons with that register dealing like 39865743924 damage per hit lol. I'll get the actual number when I go home. I also have armor that still has like 12 affixes on it. Though, I suppose multi affix affixes would answer that. I haven't looked too much into yet, but I have some time on my hands that I'll be devoting to figuring out what could be done.
