What I have forgotten or am I doing wrong?
Are you editing the file by extracting it from the save, say with Horizon. Or direct from the USB.
I just tested it out via the USB, created a new 1st level DH on my 360. Played it up until Rumford at the gate and then quit back to title menu. I took that save, modded it direct with Jappi's tool program and took it to level 50. I hit save/rehash/resign on the program, took out the USB and popped it back into Diablo 3. Worked fine.

rbo118 - you're welcome mate, it really helps though if you do use a mule toon, that way if it does corrupt you're not losing a favourite character :)
Re: [Xbox360/PS3]Diablo 3 Save Editor V2.0.0.8
So ive never used a program like this before, as far as on a PS3. How do you go about saving your PS3 character profile from D3 onto a USB drive for the editor program. I use to play D2 LOD and I used Jamella and Zonfire as editors. Is this similar?

1. Insert a flashdrive into a USB port on the front of your PS3 (You may have to configure it for PS3, there will be a prompt if so)
2.Turn on your PS3
3. Go under "game" and find "Saved data utility" then scroll down to Diablo 3
4. Click your green triangular button and select copy
5.Select USB-flashdrive and click X to confirm. Now your copy of Diablo 3 will copy to your Flashdrive.
Re: [Xbox360/PS3]Diablo 3 Save Editor V2.0.0.8
I've been quite enamored with making gems as of late. Going on the interwebs and finding save files to see if people had modded gems on their gear already. Been going into Jappi's Hex editor and making lists of what each gem had and then just making my own. I tried to extract the entire Hex sequence for a gem and just apply it, but I kept running into corrupted game saves. It probably had to do with the jump in bit size or something.
I also been running into issues with just changing an item from its origin to another item via changing the Item ID's. I also kept getting corrupt saves or the character just disappeared from the save entirely...the items in question already had three 32 stat gems on them, but I wanted to take the shortcut and just dupped the item, put the first in stash and searched that item ID and replaced it with the Item ID I wanted to turn it into. That process worked in editor....but the game was like, "bro, do you even mod?" and deleted that toon lol.
Random aside: Has anyone used the combine database feature?

Re: [Xbox360/PS3]Diablo 3 Save Editor V2.0.0.8
Also! I had been wondering if it was possible to convert PS3 save data to Xbox save data for Diablo 3. While there is no exact way to cross matriculate the data from one medium to the other, you can however (At least for Diablo) just load the PS3 save and them EXPORT the inventory. Jappi's editor makes the .IDB file.
Apparently, that .IDB file gots time for everybody.
If you open a PS3 directory in the editor and export the .IDB file, you can close out of it and then load your D3 Xbox save and IMPORT the .IDB PS3 inventory to that save! So with that being said, you can...in this manner take your Diablo 3 save from PS3 to Xbox and vice versa.
This started off as a weird idea I had. I was like, "well, if jappi's editor works with PS3 files, what happens if I extract the core directory from this character..." So I do that and thats when I saw it exports it as the same .IDB file as if you were doing it with an Xbox save.
^ that was the light bulb moment.
So then it was like, "if the editor makes a similar...or the same type of .IDB file for the PS3 like it does for the 360, I wonder if I can use that .IDB file in either context" and it turns out you can.
When doing this, after you import the inventory and save/rehash twice and close out to reload, the save file will go back to its original state. You have to do this entire process twice before the PS3 inventory sticks to your xbox save. Not sure why, but you do. Once it does, its business as usual [ Open Horizon > Plug USB in > Over write / Delete Current save > Move New Save to USB > Eject USB > Put USB in Xbox > Load Diablo 3 > Viola! ] The PS3 inventory will show up on your character. The character will come into the game not wearing anything, but thats about it.
Im still playing with this, but it appears that nothing was lost in the inventory change over either :)

Whats the exact problem you are seeing? Characters are missing items that you modded? Are the characters themselves not on your save anymore? Do you get the "your save has been corrupted" error? Can you post your save file? I can take a look at it if you want.
