Re: Lightning Returns Basic Save Editor v0.07
Yo, for all the people using PS3, it can be quite confusing.... here's how I do it.
Run Decrypter and open the directory/folder of your save. should get no errors. if you select just your APP It could give you an error about file integrity.
When it is decrypted, Open the save editor with PS3 mode checked. boxes should fill with your save info. Edit Basic stuff like GIL and HP..I've just used GIL (9million) and ATB regen (set to 100) so I almost never run out of ATB. :) NEXT! save it. HERE is the confusing part.
The NEW EDITED APP.dat is in the save editor root folder. Copy it to your original save folder APP.dat/Overwrite it. (yes, the same app.dat you have decrypted) then when that is in your save folder. Go back to Decrypter and ENCRYPT the whole folder. Just the way you Decrytped. then use USB drive or however you transfer stuff back to your PS3. It'll load like normal.
Remember, The tools don't work for PS3 yet.
ALso don't set stuff too high there are different limits for easy/norm and hard. the game WILL crash if you go over these. you can find the limits futher back on this thread. Hope that helps some people. leave me something nice in outerworld! :P~

You probably set your Gil too high. Did the same to me. I tried setting it to 2,500,000,000. Set it back to 0 so I set it to 500,000,000 instead and it worked.

Re: Lightning Returns Basic Save Editor v0.19
Hi!
I just have a question regarding the "Scale Damage to Enemies By" and "Scale Mag Defense By" numbers. Can anyone give more detail about these? For example, what are the max numbers we can input into those fields? And also, are the numbers multipliers (like if someone puts 100 on "Scale damage to enemies by" field, it'd multiply whatever the original damage to 100?
Also what does the 3 options at the bottom do (attack DODGE, attack GUARD, and Magic GUARD)?
Thanks!
Great editor and keep up the awesomeness!! ^_____^.

Re: Lightning Returns Basic Save Editor v0.19
I have a problem with the save file after it's been edited. Not sure if anyone has encounter this issue as well.
But for the 360, it seems that the modified save file can't be overwritten nor auto saved. Every time I tried to save the game, it tells me the game can't be saved.
I have yet to try saving it on a new slot, but just thought I'd point this out.

Re: Lightning Returns Basic Save Editor v0.19
Hey echelo, can you fix the HP in your next version of the editor? I just go in to edit my GP and when i save and start the game my Hp is always raised by a couple thousand even though I don't even edit it. It raises itself automatically for some reason and when I try to go in and edit and lower it, I get no change. it just keeps raising

Re: Lightning Returns Basic Save Editor v0.19
Any way to fix this error:
Error that comes up:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the application will close immediately. Value for "23" is not valid for "Value". "Value" should be between "Minimum" and "Maximum". Parameter name: Value
Got the Value for EP to high early in the game and didn't know any better now I need to make another edit but can no longer load my save into the editor.

Re: Lightning Returns Basic Save Editor v0.19
Also a note for anyone who has similar issues with this
Do not put your initial, unedited save on the same folder as the Save Editor. Either create a new folder with your clean save, or place it somewhere else.
Your edited, modified save file will be located in the same folder as the Save Editor once you are done and have saved your editing.

Re: Lightning Returns Basic Save Editor v0.19
Nice one mate. For my first playthrough I'm only going to add EP so I can spam Chronostasis, effectively removing that annoying time limit. Great game once you don't have that ticking clock looming over you. Thanks again.

Re: Lightning Returns Basic Save Editor v0.19
Very new to all of this "editing" stuff, but i think i have enough info from this awesome forum to actually do this. I am on the ps3 and have a couple quick questions.
1...Can i begin this editing from the very get go? Boot the game and take the very first save file?
2...Once my file is edited, can i play the game normally and save over the original edited file? Basically, not sure if that altered file is to remain untouched and do my saving under a new slot.
3...I guess my only other confusion comes from what to set the values at for just the basics.....HP, Gil, Overdrive, Mag, Str...etc. I will be playing on easy for the first run and as stated, i am ps3. I see the highest possible values, but i also see that difficulty maters when setting these numbers. If anyone could tell me a rundown of the basic stat values, that would be great.
The game is almost done downloading. Close to my very first "hack" i guess. Seems a tad confusing but i am gonna give it a shot. Thanks for this outstanding program, and all the guidance this forum has provided.

Thanks. That did hte trick for me.
A tip for anyone playing the game:
Edit your Inventory, and add Elixir x100 on a slot (or all slots if you're desperate).
Elixirs fully recover EP/HP/ATB, and refills your Dash gauge, on top of that it also gives you various buffs in battle (Bravery, Faith, Protect, Shell, Haste). If you put this in lets say .. 2 slots, it'll give you 200 x 9 EP (Assuming you modded the max EP to 9). So that's 1800 EP.
One Chronostasis freezes time for 3 minutes IRL from the 'Doomsday clock'. So that's 5400 minutes that you can basically stop the whole Doomsday timer, giving you a ton of time to explore and do sidequests, etc.

I've edited my save successfully, thanks for this! My only confusion... I can only access the basic status stuff... how do I get to item editing?

At the top of the Editor you'll see "Tools".
Everything else besides regular stats and Gil are there.

Yeah, the box for tools is grayed out for me. Do I have an old version or something?

You may not have noticed, but every time you edit a save and hit save. You have to move the modified save out of the folder directory and reload it. Otherwise you'll get handling exceptions.
You also have to reload the save every time after you save it.
