Xbox 360 Region Help
I have a US (NTSC) Xbox 360 console, but I'm wanting to play games from other regions (Germany, Russia, Japan). I'm trying to find out if I need to buy a Xbox 360 from that region, or if I can just change the region of my Xbox (without modding it).
I saw a video on YouTube where the guy said all you have to do is go to: Settings > System > Console Settings > Language and Locale > Locale, and just changed the local to whatever region you want to play a game from. (Like if you have a NTSC colsole, just change the local to Germany and you can play German games).
Does anyone know for a fact that this would work? I want to try it, but don't want to pay $50 for a old game from another region just to get it and it not work.
I would appreciate it if someone could try this out for me with a NTSC console if they have the time.

Re: Xbox 360 Region Help
You only need a console from another region is the game disc you're trying to play is region-locked. I've games purchased from Europe[PAL] and JP[NTSC] working on my US[NTSC] console.
You don't have to change the locale, that's mostly for your menu interface.

Re: Xbox 360 Region Help
you cant change the region of the xbox it is locked to that region (making it a rgh/jtag(modding the xbox ) can play any region) as the above poster said a Region Free will play on any of the consoles but region locked games will only play on that region even some region free games dont allow all regions might be for example region free ntsc game and will only play on us ntsc not japan ntsc and play on uk pal a good guide would be to look at www.play-asia.com
