I dont know it is because i added all the items and overloaded the save, but in 1.0.1.2 that never had effected me until now.

This my 9 character save i am trying to make like i use to lol maybe i am just overloading it. Reminds me of the old days when the editor first came out ;)
freezing at loading screen mostly indicates something that should not be there...
did you updated your database ? and did you also add all dlc items ?
Did you add items from the ignored area(trash can)?
Do you have unknown items in your inventory?
try removing every item, and keep adding until it freezes.
Let me know if you find anything out, i'm unable to play the game atm....

The only thing I brought out of my trashcan was the estus flask. I did it on 1.0.1.2 so I could have 9999 estus flasks and never have had this problem. I added everything like I normally did.
--- I did check the can have more than one of feature for the dlc items.(NEW)
-x99 inventory consumables (+dlc)(inv.)
-x9999 inv. Cons. Items (+dlc)(item box)
-x1 all apparel,+10 (item box) (+ dlc)
-x3 all rings (item box) (+dlc)
-x9999 arrows (inv.)
-x3 all weapons , +10. (+dlc) (item box)
-x4 all spells (+dlc) (inv.)
-x2 all bows ,+10 (+dlc) (item box)
- all key items, without odd ember. (+dlc)
I pretty much made a mega mule inventory save for xbox.
Only thing I changed was maxed out the covenants and torch time.
I then use the tool feature to add the Inventory I just created to the other 8 characters as well as the build to the 8.
This save contains 9 characters before character creation. They are meant to be my base file characters so I can start a new game and create my character and play with only a modded inventory.
I have done this countless times on 1.0.1.2. And this was the save I used to fix a good many people corrupted saves to.

Okay Jappi. I was able to narrow it down some to what is possibly causing the freezing.
Whats not causing the freezing:
--The consumables Items i put in my invemtory as x99 and item box consumables at x9999
--The estus flask i dragged out of the trash.
--Having x99 and x9999 of dlc consumables.
--Gestures
--Covenants max out
--torch time max
These is what i individually tested together without any weapons, rings, etc... they worked right when i loaded up.
When i added everything else like weapons, bows, spells, keys, apparel. It started to freeze.
Here is the inevtory file if you want to check it out.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vukr7tqbjr...nventory.CHRIT
I will do some more testing tomorrow since i will be off work

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.0
The program said it was making a backup for me, which is also corrupt now. Other programs will not even recognize the save now.
Even if I start a new game and put the usb of the save into the computer. As soon as I hit save, it corrupts the file, and now I can't even "replace" the save with a working one because that option now corrupts the file as well. Oh well, Modio works at least.... simple, but it works.

Also, just wanted to give thanks to Jappi. You put together an awesome editor.
Ok, whatever the issue with the last release was seems to have been fixed with the .16 release. Files are now working and not corrupted.

That also happened to me with the other release. That save is more than likely gone now, you will have to start over with a new save.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
If you only add 99 of items in your Inventory and 99 in your item box your game is infinitely less likely to freeze and you won't have the chance of getting "soft-banned".
Don't add more of certain files like Estus Flasks than the game would regularly allow.
Don't add a ton of things at once. If you just change the numbers of the item to 99 and a couple items it's safer than adding everything at once.
Don't delete too many things at once.
Don't add special items like soapstones, ashen mist heart, kings ring, etc.
Load your save offline after every modification, travel somewhere and save/quit before you connect online fixes some issues as well.
IF YOU FOLLOW THOSE GUIDELINES.... You're save is a lot more likely to work and you are infinitely less likely to get banned.
Jappi, one suggestion for future updates..... Allow the loading of just USER_DATA files. I've found when you edit them and reinsert into the save you face a lot fewer issues. I was doing that with the latest FROM patch, I'd modify and old save then extract the USER_DATA and inject into my current save. It gets around STFS issues and is more likely to work online after patches. Also add an option to not add more than 99 of items (except arrows of course) as this will almost completely people from getting banned.
Thanks as always for the awesome work.

I have challenged and done all of that since day 1 of the editor and I haven't been banned. And I was and been able to do all that on 1.0.1.2. It's just now on 1.0.1.6 the dlc items are messing it up. And I am close to finding what is causing it.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
99 of every item in inventory and box
2 of every weapon/armor to the max
all covenant to the max
souls, stats, etc
All work perfect on ps3 :038:

Not true, it's how you play that determines if you'll get banned. If you're a SL 838 invading with 100K SM, then you'll get banned. Items don't do anything. My saves have 65K of each consumable in the item box, like c'mon.

That's what I am saying. I have been using this editor since day 1 and I pretty learned every way the editor can be used to break every things in th3 gane like weapons to give them boost they shouldn't have and etc... only the dumba$$es get banned because they aren't smart.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
I'm going off emails written directly from FROM software that mention having more than the legit max if the item, there are several of these emails to be found.
You're right about playing at max level with almost no SM though, it can lead to a ban.

We aren't trying to bash you or anything haha we are just going off of experience. I have been making saves for people with item counts above normal and I have been doing since the first actually way to mod dark souls 2 came out. Most of that is scares to try and stop you. Just play smart and your fine.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
what about people who only co-op? are they at risk of banning?
asked by sun bro Strife008

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
There are people who've been playing burnt games on the Xbox 360 for years without a ban and people who've been banned 4-5 times. It's not guaranteed.
These emails weren't sent as a threat, they emailed FROM to see why they got soft-banned and I've seen 3 different emails giving that same response in different wording that it has to do with having items outside the games maximum Parameters.
It's not going to happen to everyone. I've been online with more than 99 of an item, but I dropped the extras and picked them up later just to be safe.
Just because you haven't been banned doesn't mean you can't get banned for it, that is just flawed logic. I know you CAN get banned for it, but I'm not saying everyone will. I'm saying if you want to be safe, it can happen.
I've never seen an email saying that someone got banned for having a max level character with almost no SM, but I'm sure it CAN happen so I'd advise people to avoid that as well. It ruins the game experience anyway.
I've had issues with saves being corrupted and since I followed the things I outlined in my post (including injecting USER_DATA when possible) and haven't had any since. Am I saying you won't have any issues? Nope. Am I saying you will have issues or get banned? Nope. I'm saying these steps worked for me and are a safer way of save editing.

Hey guys I already informed Jappi but just to make sure it isn't just me, I cannot use the Dragon Torso Stone. In the Save Editor it seems to be logged under keys, which is more than likely the problem. So yeah, is it just me?

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
Not sure if these have been found yet...but I ran into a few little issues when playing around with the editor. I'm unable to pull the saves off of my PS3...so I've been reduced down to downloading blank profile starters lol
1) With a BLANK profile save, if I rebuild it to my profile in Bruteforce, it makes the save load in the editor without any saves. A message comes up saying that I need to have a started save in order to use it...which there is a save on there. However, if I don't rebuild...it works just fine, loads perfectly into the editor, and then works on the console.
2) There's a certain save I have that can't be modified. I can load it into the editor, change as much as I want, and it won't be changed on the console. The editor will show that things have been changed if I reload the save back into the editor...but it will never reflect on the PS3 end. Whether it's items or stats...nothing will be changed and it stays the exact same way it was before I even edited it.
3) I have one save that has 10 characters on it...and when I load the save into the editor only 2 characters get loaded. Haven't really found a way around this...mainly because it doesn't really bother me that much.
Again, sorry if these have already been posted. I'll keep an eye out for any fixes though.

the editor looks for saves based on the time played...every slot with atleast a milisecond played will get loaded...
you can try to load the save first on your ps3, play with every character for atleast a second , then reload back in tool and all slots should be loaded.
if it gets loaded but no changes are made means probebly that your save directory contains filenames that i have not seen yet...
please send me your save directory that does not get modifief after using this tool, i'l check it out and fix the issue.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
I am also having an issue with the dragon items. I do not have them in my inventory, but for some reason when I join that covenant and go to get the items, it says my inventory bag is full? Yet I can pic up anything from anywhere else. I have tried discarding items as well and it still says it is full, only for those items?

It goes with the consumables items. Where it has the dragon head stone. And also got rid of it say thing that the dragon torso stone was a dlc item as well.

Hey Jappi. Idk if anyone else is having problems but the gestures seem not to be saving for me. I have had all the gestures unlocked and now they are reset to the default and the others are locked.
-
Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
Just for reference... Dragon talon, dull ember, ashen mist heart, small ladder, and all gestures go in with the keys. Everything else goes in with the inventory (spells, equipment, consumables, king's ring as well). Sometimes having large gaps between inventory sections will cause games to freeze at times (I've noticed the editor does this by design? Accident?). Putting any key items in the inventory will cause bad things to happen. The best inventory solution would be to write all items to inventory in the same group and write keys in another group as I've had problems several times with the large gaps inbetween items.
On the PS3, adding DLC items (keys, dragon talon, whatever) works fine even if you don't have the DLC content. However, you can't use it to access the DLC without paying

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.1.6
Thank you for confirming this, on Xbox when i added the key it would not allow me to play online or load the save, I wanted to test that, good thing FROM was smart and did that.

If your wondering why this happened i dunno. I was just playing it last night. I save and quit the game like i should and i try to get on today and this happens. :/

The editor writes the items just like ingame, or else it would be a total mess...
the gap between some items is intended due the nature of the structure.
there is nothing wrong with items or key/gesture writing.
