Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.3
I am having an issue with just one of my three characters. I edited two of them, but one of the two I edited isn't loading. If I attempt to play as this character, it shows a loading screen and then freezes there. After it happened the first time, I went and revised the edit a few times before just completely removing everything I added. I have a list of everything that I added and then later removed, but some of the items added were added to my other edited character as well, which is working fine. I also noted that a seven appeared in front of my souls required for the corrupted edited character. I changed it back to it's original, but that didn't seem to fix the problem.
All weapons and armor are regular max upgrade.
Shadow Daggerx2, Old Mirrah Greatsword, Drakekeeper Ultra Greatsword, Monastery Scimitarx2, Drake Keeper Warpick, Stone Twinblade, Bow of Want, Olenford's Staff, Visible Aurous setx2, Catarina set, Imperious set, llewellyn set, Mad Warrior setx2, Monastery setx2, Warlock Mask, Ring of Blades +2x2, Lingering Dragoncrest Ring +2x2, Gower's Ring of Protection, Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring, Illusory Ring of the Exalted, Illusory Ring of the Conquered, Vanquisher's Seal, Orma's Shield, Reeve's Shield, King's Shield, and assorted titanite which probably doesn't matter because I added 99 of all titanite to my other edited character as well.
I only have a list because my friend requested some items and I saved the list he sent me.

hi elfenblick I am making a PC save game (offline only) that it is a male character with every armor available in the game and 99999999 souls in Things Betwixt 1st travel. Only the first bonfire activated (and any bonfire ascetic used)... if you/anyone else are interest reply this comment to [email protected] or here and I will upload the save game it has no virus or spam (surveys) just I found a item swap to add every piece of armor and consumables for the save and the souls added with a trainer.
PD: my game is not legal I use steam crack.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.3
First of all, thank you so much Jappi. Here's my specs for my problem.
Platform: XBOX 360
Flash drive USB stick.
So i've run short of supplies, having used the editor succesfully a couple times on this save. Unfortunately, the latest one crashed my game so I've reverted back to an original back up. on this back up I haven't been able to edit successfully once yet. At first I thought it was too many items, so I've gone to just editing the Souls of A Great Hero from 17-99. I've also run trials of just adding 99 of Skeptics spice as I don't have any of those currently in my inventory. I've done all trials with both items, even trying to put items in itembox.
When putting items in item box the edits do not appear at all. When put directly into inventory, both item tests result in successful edit, but game crashes at first auto save, (Failed to save, returning to title screen. Followed by "File is corrupt, unable to recover, creating new save data...")
I've tried editing with only inhouse USB, no dice.
Inhouse USB plus Horizon Rehash/Save...no dice.
Tried going Buffalo route, first extracting save, editing, then placing back on with with Buffalo. Still, can't get past "failed to save".
I should note that if I try and extract with Horizon, edit, then replace and rehash with Horizon, my game freezes on Saving portion of load up, like many others. So I've stopped doing it that way entirely.
I was able to edit a couple of times with the previous version, though in doing that I would use inhouse USB, edit, then Horizon to rehash/resave. With that I was able to edit in many items over a few trips between adding, saving, then adding some more, repeat. This method no longer works either.
Having trouble uploading the file as an attachment. If someone could PM some instructions, I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong. Says my -game0000 file is invalid.
I'm assuming you just need my base file, the one that works when loaded, right? Or would you like base file and one I've tried editing?

There we go. For all who'd like to upload their files to help, the file needs to be converted to a .zip folder before the uploader will take it. At least, that's what I'm hoping I'm uploading. Thanks again Jappi. Lemme know if I'm still doing it wrong.

After trying this it did cause the item box edits to become successful. I wonder if having just one item of each type will have an impact on if the item box is editable or not. Unfortunately, I still couldn't get past the auto save. This was from the included USB editor alone. I'll have to try the other combos later. First up will be the Buffalo method.

Ok, twice this problem has been brought up but no one has answered it,b being I'm having the same problem. I click on the load button, but the program constantly says it's still in the process of downloading resources, and then eventually crashes.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.0
I just wanted to say thank you for this amazing tool. The interface is sick, and the program in general is so user-friendly (not to mention practically flawless function-wise). I will definitely be giving a donation in the near future :)
I wanted to ask if there was any chance of being able to mod covenant ranks or at least being able to see how close we are to attaining a covenant rank (it would particularly be useful for Brotherhood of Blood... no idea how close I am to 500 rank points lol).

Ok, I'm assuming you have already, but I'll throw this out there. Have you uninstalled/reinstalled the program yet? Also, could there possibly be something from your end, an antivirus/firewall, that may be preventing the resources from being downloaded into your PC? I've been able to update both times from v1.0.0.2-v1.0.0.4.
I'm not sure how the update server thing works, but i was able to update it at an off hour, so I'm thinking you can update 24/7, if thats not the case, try updating at another hour. These are all the solutions I can think of at the moment. No worries, as the program is still being developed and for some its crashing saves. (Oh man, but when it works...suugoy) good luck and hope this was of some help.
Thanks again Jappi!!

to be honest, i have no clue what covenant rank is...i have never played the game besides testing...
i will definitly add that one if its located somewhere on the save, but i have to make the program run 100% first before i add anything to it yet.

Don't worry Jappi :Thumpsup: You're absolutely one of the best here in "haven" (obviously all those who dedicate themeselves to the prefession of editing have my respect and admiration :056: I'll never stop to thank you all :056:). This is not to cheer you up, to be clear, it's simly the truth :yeah: I mean, no one would work so hard to create an editor so complicated. A normal person, thinking about Dark Souls 2, would say: "Impossible! Too hard!". But here you are, to do something impossible :067: Yeah, the editor still cause some issues, but as long as you put your soul into it, nothing is impossible! So, go on and don't worry about "bad feedback" :067: Furthermore, as long as we can rely on backup, nobody dies :049:

Aw man Jappi!! Don't give up on us foolish mortals!!!
I've had more success using your product than any other editor so far, not to mention the interface. Your UI is so damn easy to use, and without it, I think many of us laymen wouldn't be able to enjoy the fruits of you labor, thank you thank you thank you...
To the other poster helping me through, Mason something:
Just tried the Buffalo method. Still no dice. As before, I can now edit the item in my item box, but I still can't get past the auto save. Its like the location the auto save was using is changed or moved. I will say that it doesn't seem to make a difference between adding items in inventory and items into the item box. Both methods of editing result in successfully changed values, its just that darn auto save. I'd heard something about using the Database tab, but I'm unsure of how to use it. If you could give me some pointers on that I'd appreciate the input.
I'm gonna create a new character tonight and test whether or not multiple edits has any effect on the auto saving. IIRC, my first edit (regardless of amount of items, well consumables, I always add all shards 99 of each, 99 Soul of Great Hero, and 99 Soul Vessels) always goes through. I think on that particular back up I even added the monastary set, weapon included with no problems.
Great work Jappi, soon I can provide a meager donation in place of words. I really am greatful to you for this product. I wish I could hunt down that code with you. Do you suppose the game has some kind of Timer check against Items gained? To elaborate: the game saves with timer at X:XX and compares the item stack. Now when we edit in 99 of whatever, the timer check sees a gain that takes place in less than a second. When comparing to the orignial X:XX timer it decides that that can't be and flags the file as corrupted. I dunno, so I best leave speculations up to da masta...
Thanks again Jappi.
Edit: So I tried something new. I placed a Human Effigy on the ground before I saved and quit. Edited using only included USB, added directly to inventory Soul of Great Hero from 17 to 99, Simpleton and Skeptic edited from 3-99 each. When the file was loaded, after checking all edits successful, I picked up the Effigy and Quit/Saved. Reloaded to double check, used one SOul of Great Hero bonfired to another location and Saved and Quit. So far edits have sustained.
Here's the file to compare any changes.
Attachment 14952
edit 2: must have been a fluke. Can't get it to repeat the results. on top of that I made a bad back up I guess as it now won't go past the loading save. Damn you horizon, lol. gonna keep at it. perhaps the file will work for you. sorry for bad upload. i loaded the game twice to see if the edits would hold and not freeze at save, it worked prior to my uploading the file. gonna keep at it as I know something must have changed. I forgot to mention that prior to loading the game, I loaded it up in the editor twice to double check if the edits had taken. When I did so, I noticed the inventory screen had reaarranged itself from the previous upload (prior to edits). Not sure if thats relevant, but I did a second save changes (this time withotut edititing) before exiting the editor and loading the game up.

I'll go on and explain them then. The covenants in DS2 work the same as the ones in DS. They are factions that give perks and bonuses for joining them. In the game there are 8 total. All can be joined offline and online and have 3 ranks within each, but only 6 out of the 8 can be ranked up offline. The other two require kills online through invasions or PvP matches. Basically I'm sure the data for them are in the save along with the characters progress; however, the online ones may be harder to work with. Just a guess anyway. :) Also I'd like to ask if the "Souls Needed" option in the editor does anything specific. When I messed with it a bit I noticed it doesn't change anything in game that would go with it. In fact it seemed to be the exact same as the memory option. Are they the same thing in the editor? Thanks. :)

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.0
Hey Jappi,
Just reporting the same issue some people have on Xbox, I'll try to be more detailed than the posts I've seen.
Whenever I add anything to my save (I've tried simply adding one red eye orb), my characters fail to load on the loading screen, the screen freezes after a while.
If I use either Horizon or that Party thingy to extract and inject, the characters will load, but a wide assortment of items will be in the wrong category.
For example, all my keys were in the "consumable" category, and some consumables were in my "key" category of the inventory.
Attempting to move or equip any of the wrongly classified items led to a crash of DaS2.
At first, I just added the Shadow Armor set to one the characters, but it seems any modification with your program causes this.
However, the backups created by your editor worked fine, identical to the backups I make by simply extracting with Horizon.
Let me know if you need more information.
Save file:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/35313894/-GAME_0000
May I suggest you have different download links for different versions of the editor? This might quell some of the feedback you're getting.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.0
Ok, so after a few more rounds of trying this and that, I've found a method I've been able to replicate. Unfortunately, it only works for one pass.
So I used the sort feature in game to place the order of my consumables from most to least. Placed an item on the ground to induce auto save. Edited using only included USB, directly into inventory, values changing from Great Soul: 13-99, Simple/skeptic Spices: 3-99, and 1-99. reload the game, no hitches, go into inventory to check successful edits, flick the sort feature a couple times from default to held (this part not necessary as the first time I got it to work i just quit/saved), and quit and save. Gets me past auto save every time, so far.
Problem now comes when I try and edit a second time. When loading the USB on my comp I noticed that it offers to scan and fix the usb. At this point, if i remove my USB from my PC and reload no problems. If I choose to scan and fix, I get hit with a "failed to load character" prompt. Alternatively, if I choose to ignore and try to to edit, I'm either hit with "save data was not loaded correctly" prompt, or I'll freeze at the saving screen prior to game start up (the one that comes after you've chosen your character).
So to TL;DR, I'm having a single successful edit (gonna try and add more items on the first pass) every time now. I attribute it to the dropped item and the resorted inventory in game. I noticed that if I tried to skip the item drop part I would sometimes get hit with failed to load character prompts, sometimes it would still work. I just know it worked every time I dropped the item prior to editing. This is all from the first base save I've uploaded.
Hope this is of some help to you Jappi. Thanks you for putting time into this thing.
Gonna test it out one more time and try and upload both the starting file I'm using and one successful pass. Its odd but when I try to backup the success edit, it seems I can't reload from it when it locks up on the second pass. happenned twice now because I keep trying to get an upload set up for you to compare saves.

Hi Jappi, it's PS3 version....I also mentioned this issue before...
- copy the save from ps3
- open save editor
- load the save and extract from the character
- edit...
- press "save changes"
- it says "file does not exit" (1.04 version)
Also, I cannot connect through FTP...while I tried to connected, the editor would load for a while and then exited....
anyway, thanks for your nice program...

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.0
In the database, the "Rotunda Lockstone" is in the wrong category. It should be under keys, not the items/usables. When I tried to load the game after the editor misplaced it, the game would just crash at the loading screen. After removing it from my inventory and readding it under keys, the save would load correctly. Then, for some reason, my other save got the "failed to load" error... and that was the one that I actually wanted to edit. It's frustrating that you can't just choose to edit one character since the editor re-sorts items across all characters on the save. >_> Nice work so far though... I hope that you can find the time to fix these bugs soon.
Also... I asked this a few days ago, but no one replied, sooo... if all I do is add a single item to a character that I created offline (I'm doing it for a cosplay), what are the chances that I'd get in trouble for that? Also, since the editor makes changes across all characters regardless of which one(s) you choose to edit, does that mean that my original, completely unedited character is at risk if I go back online with her?

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.0
@Vis: im not sure if cheater detection is different from system to system. I've been modding on the 360. I've never set my game to offline (which was gonna be one of my tests, but I get so obsessed with keeping the formula rigid so I can repeat the results, that I always forget to just unplug my system. I can tell you that after making a several edits (some that crash the game after its loaded up) I haven't been warned or banned yet. This is concerning item mods, which I'm assuming you're gonna be doing. I don't mod stats so I'm not sure if that will get you redflagged or not.
Not sure if this is exclusive only to 360, but I have a main save file on my Xbox Hard drive and I have a save on a usb. When I get my edits to stick, I put that save on my Xbox so I'll always have a safe to use file. I do my editing on a backup of this save to my USB. I don't think you have much to worry about unless you're trying to mod in an item that isn't readily available to other players. I'm referring to the Rings Of Illusion set, like Guilty and such. Stick to only items that you know to be in the game should keep you pretty safe. Hope this helped.
Jappi!!!! Sounds great man, can't wait for the next update. Thanks so much for your work.

Thank you for the answer. :) I'm on the 360 as well.
No, it's just a single sword that is only dropped from an enemy not accessible until after the Shrine of Winter. I just want to be able to enjoy everything before that point with my cosplay, and that sword is absolutely essential to it. I have no interest in modding stats or anything like that. I want to play online fairly. ^_^

Be careful with the current build Jappi has, it will most likely corrupt your save, create a backup before testing.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.4
i tried to help Jappi with PC save, but it looks like i've failed to reverse engineering it with Quickbms. all script combinations i've tried still fails.
i hope anyone here that familiar with Quickbms can help us. getting this to work is ridiculous with my programmer level.
here's the script:
def main():
with open('DARKSII0000.sl2', 'rb') as fo:
fo.seek(0x2c0, 0)
for slot in range(0, 10):
fo.seek(0x100, 1)
name = fo.read(32)
if name[0] != '\00':
fo.seek(-0x120, 1)
fo.seek(0x1f128, 1)
deaths = fo.read(4)
fo.seek(-0x04, 1)
fo.seek(-0x1f128, 1)
print "name: %s\tdeaths: %d" % (name.decode('utf-16').split('\00')[0], struct.unpack('i', deaths)[0])
else:
fo.seek(-0x120, 1)
fo.seek(0x60190, 1)
raw_input("Press Enter to continue...")
if __name__ == '__main__':
main()
but it fails.

but it fails.
that code simply reads the file entries of the pc version of the game, i have that part done within a few minutes, witch allows me to get and modify all slots at will.
however, each fileentry is compressed and encrypted and signed, believe me , i have reversed engineered the game, and ive seen crazy shit.
im still working on it though, but it will take allot of time and effort.

Re: [PS3/XB360]Dark Souls II Save Editor V1.0.0.5
Thx Jappi! I'll try it as soon as possible! ^^
Edit: Is it still recommended to remove the equipment first?

it worked most of the times, but still not perfect, MAY cause troubles, but the chances are very low, worst thing that may happen is Freezing(very slim) or that you loose a equiped item, and need to be reEquiped.
