Dark Souls 2 Modding discovery
Well, I was modding my, recently created, Dark Souls 2 save using Jappi88's save editor, and I decided "You know what, I'm gonna see what would happen if I modded the Dragon Talon into my inventory." My result was amazing, I modded the Dragons Talon along with some other DLC items into my game, but it didn't prompt me with the usual "Missing downloadable content error." It loaded the save like if I had the DLC. My conclusion is that the key in order to unlock the DLC from the compatibility pack is imbedded into the Dragon Talon, meaning you could mod the item in and the game would think you have the DLC.
