It could be that instead of loading the modded one, you loading a non-modded one.
For example, you could be loading the one on your Hard Drive and not the one on your USB Device.

Well Actually I even thought of that and i only had one file. I moved it to my USB and then made a back-up on my desktop. So that couldn't be it (also the Back-up is in another folder so I couldn't have moved that one to my USB).

Re: Dead Island - Save editor V1.9
Problem. When I mod it and put it back onto my harddrive then open it up in Dead Island, all I see is an "incompatible file". I am trying to mod a level 36 Purna. I've bought so many Oleanders that everytime I open the save on xbox it just freezes. I'm trying to take off the Oleanders but I just get "incompatible file" on xbox. Help :[.

Sorry man, your save game is corrupted. The only way to fix it is to start all over, Or if you have a back-up of the original file list most people do.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor V1.9
Does this mean I have to start all over or is there a way to get far in the campaign also? this sucks man :3

I know it might sound like a dumb idea, but when you mod it is the game still running? Is it in the loading screen? Because, it use to happen to me until I figured out that I should just hit the B button instead of choosing a device because it overwrites your modded file with the stock one still in the game's memory. Hope this helps. Other than this, I have no clue why it is doing that for you.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor V1.9
I have a question/problem...
So far this editor has been awesome for me....but i have run into 2 issues.
1.) I did not realize that you can upgrade your skills to level 3.....i went straight from beating the prologue to Level 50 and i had a bunch of skill points after i used the editor to hit level 50....but after using the skill points to buy each skill....i only had 10 left....and now that i realize i can build the skills up to level 3....i was wondering how i can get more skill points to max out my skills?
I tried increasing my XP....but that didn't work.
2.) There is a small side mission where 2 girls are in a bungalow and you have to find water for one girl and a teddy-bear for the other.....well i gave the girl that wanted water the 5 bottles of water i had....and that was not enough apparently....so then i found more water and used the save editor to max my water out.....then i go back to her and now i have given her like 100 bottles of water....and she is still not satisfied....and the side-mission won't clear.
Is it possible that the save has fucked things up? Is there anything i can do?.....Or is this the thirstiest girl on the planet and the mission will never clear?

So far you can't max out your skill points that I know of. And the side mission with the water is a continuous quest, it never ends. So the save editor did not mess up your save.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor V1.9
I found a new issue....
I absolutely cannot mod my amount of Deo-bombs.
And even tho i have the materials to make them....the most the game will let me hold in a slot is 30 and then it starts to take up a new slot.
This sucks pretty bad because i did not have this problem with molotov's and the Deo-bombs appear to be a better explosive than the molotov's.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor
This works like a charm for me, nice and simple to use too :)

explain in more detail what your doing. that way the problem can more easily identified and solved.
e.g...
savegame onto memory card/usb stick, plug into pc, used xport360 to find gamesave, moved gamesave to desktop, launced the editor, droped gamesave into editor, etc

Re: Dead Island - Save editor
So, I am opening my save. The character is Xian. When it opens, it is Purna. I had 2 saves. One that is Xian, and one that is Purna. When I play my game, it says the save that was Purna on my computer is now Xian.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor
thanks again man, great work!

Re: Dead Island - Save editor
Thank you for noticing, but i already solved that problem :)

30 Is the regular amount you can hold in one for the Deo-Bombs, thats the way the game was made, the save editor did not mess it up. And if you need your Deo-Bomb modded upload your file and I'll mod it for you.

Man, That's a lot of problems, But I think I can Help. Question 1 is easy. You can de-rank yourself using the save editor. So bring yourself to level 1 and to make sure it'll work level up to 2 by yourself then mod back to level 50 and you should have like 50 more skill points.
Question 2 - Well, This has never happened to me before, I think you'll have to not do the side mission. This game was rushed out and has a lot of glitches and all. Most of the glitches are different for everyone. You should be lucky it was only a side mission.
Hope I helped! (please thank if I helped)

Re: Dead Island - Save editor V1.9
Question 2: if you look at your Quests you'll realize that it's a continuous mission. Meaning you will never complete it, they added those for easy xp. All you have to do is keep giving here water and you'll receive 50xp each time.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor V1.9
Again, is it even remotely possible that fist speed and other variable be spliced into the saves from JTAG saves?

Ummmmmmm YES. SOME "items" mod for some and not others. But all compoent items work and the level up part works. I still can not get the burst rifle or short shotguns to work. ALSO. You will have to have at least 1 of the said items to mod to a higher number.... hope this helps..

Re: Dead Island - Save editor
Isn't noticing my ShockRifle (That has ammo, that's in my inventory, equipped), and also isn't noticing my Wakizashi's.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor
Does anyone else notice a slight "lag" when switching to a weapon that has had it's ammo modded? Sorry if someone already mentioned that but I haven't had a chance to go back through all those pages.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor

We all thanked and will still thank Jappi for this mod tool. Alot of people I see are having problems with certain items and all. Just to let the people know and not trying to step on anyones toes, but.........
""""""""""" the mod program 360 Revolution just released their Vr. of the Dead Island mod tool and everything I couldnt mod with this one works on that one. So just saying it works but don't look as good as Jappi's tool.........."""""""""""

Re: Dead Island - Save editor
This editor is very useful and all, have used it on countless occasions. The only thing is that I'm missing the ability to edit Bleach, I have some in my inventory but i can't find it at all in the item listing. I would only request an add for bleach in the item list, i can imagine it's hard to add but it would me highly appreciated.
-
Re: Dead Island - Save editor
First of all I'd just like to thank Jappi for this wonderful tool! I've used it to mod a bunch of things. As another user said, bleach is missing, but I have no doubt that it will be added as soon as possible. Some things I would like to see changed/added though is with the layout. When you switch pages I've noticed that when it loads it seems as though the input boxes and labels are placed very slightly in different spots on the form. I'm pretty OCD and I think it's a minor thing to fix, just dragging and moving where they are placed. The second change I'd like to see made is just having a separate page for weapons. Perhaps maybe something to think about is for somebody to compile a list of every item in the game and sending it to Jappi, who can then put that list into a spoiler or something on the forum, along with it's modding-status (ie. Complete, In-progress, not started). Other than that, great job on the program! Works like a charm and does (almost) everything I want!
Quick last note: I've noticed that you can't modify ammunition amounts for most weapons. What I know you can mod are Auto Rifles and Single Shot Rifles, but not Burst Rifles at all. I'm not sure what pistols you can modify, but I know you can change ammo amounts for Revolvers and what is marked in the Save Editor as "DesertEagleGen" (but not sure which weapon this is). Lastly, you cannot modify ANY shotgun ammunition amounts. Hope that last sidenote helps with knowing what weapon compatibility to add next *wink wink*.

Thanks for reporting...
but i did know about the few items missing in the editor...
if anyone cares to read the first post, it said, "to every one complainig about not being able to edit their items...
You need to have the item if you wanna edit, and this editor still doesnt have all items /weapons, so if value of your weapon doesnt change means its not added to the tool yet.
so stop complaining and pm me the save with the weapons you need added."
so for example, you want to mod a item, and you cannot change the value... then the first step to do is send me the save and the item you like to be edited.
i just dont have time to search for every damn item ...
still i will complete this editor soon

Re: Dead Island - Save editor
I know this is completely random and off topic, but I'm just curious.
I was level 46 Xian, and I modded my level to 50, and booted up my game. Everything is fine, but my Health and Stamina are the same as when i was 46 (and 32 if you do a newgame plus and start from chapter 18).
Is that normal or does health and stamina cap out earlier than 50? Thanks in advance. I ask this because I didn't wanna restart my Xian because my original file is off.

Re: Dead Island - Save editor V1.9
I love this editor, and I have been following it for a week or so, but I just took the time to register.
Im pretty sure I saw somewhere that you were requesting saves so you could find the codding for certain weapons so here's a save:
http://www.mediafire.com/?y63f3b0rccaz9sj
P.S. I would love it if you added the short shotgun to the application because they are way better than regular shotguns and good luck with the application.
