Resident Evil 4: Save Editor (Temporary tool, WIP)
Okay, well i'm not a big fan of releasing (buggy tools or beta's) But due to high demand and constant PM's I thought i'd deliver this for now until me and Jappi finish the real project.
I don't expect this to work for everyone, and it will only work with slot1 and Easy Mode, Don't bitch at me I'm trying as hard as i can to deliver perfection, But i do have work, and personal life to deal with.

{How to use}
- Open Game00_?? (Your region replaces ?? duh!)
- Modify your save with whatever the hell you want.
- Hit Save All
- Hit Fix Checksum
-Hit Resign and Rehash
- Transfer back and play!
Like i said....i expect this not to work for a lot of people, So don't bitch at me. Me and Jappi will deliver a tool that is 100% functional and is supported for RE4 and CVX.

Important Notice - I will no longer be able to work on this editor, due to the fact i am pummeled with work in the next few weeks, due to the sales manager being on vacation. I need to step in for him. So only time will tell. When i get free time i will continue working on this editor and finish it, but for now, sorry guys.

Not to be rude but i was stalking you to see wether you was making a new thread lol, anyways will be giving this a shot if it doesn't work well i can say thanks for providing a beta.
EDIT: I tested and followed instructions loaded up save it braught up some kind of error when using my pro difficulty one on the editor about a certain value and only modded my PTAS saved all, fix checksum, r+r'd and got as far as in the loading screen Corrupted Save Data could not be loaded blah blah, guess im among the unfortunate ones... ah well roll on full release. Just a heads up you may need to add a part for Ada's Seperate Ways due to her having many different weapons etc.

It was only slot 1 right? No other save data on the storage device at all?

I had a save data on number 20 and number 2.

I see the issue, The tool is currently only coded for Easy Mode, as that's what i was playing through.

I just tested on my save and it worked, But sure give it a go, Btw Obviously do not edit the TMP ammo, that value in the box if FF FF as it is locked at the moment, So just Magnum and Shotgun, and P.T.A.S. Also re-download the tool, I fixed the health issue.

edited my save on normal mode and was able to edit handgun ammo and ptas just fine :), havent tried health yet

Worked btw it's handgun not magnum, was thinking O_o at first but anyway i changed the ammo in my Handgun and Shotgun to 999, Handgun Ammo to 666 and Shotgun Ammo to 667, and made my PTAS 1234567 (Yay i can count!) How come it's different for each difficulty? (As it seems)

The Handgun edit will be the same on every difficulty, It depends on the difficulty because it's whatever items you start with at the start. An example is the TMP, You don't have that at the start of the game. So it's locked, as you can see the value is huge, which represents FF FF.

Ahhh but what about if im using a different handgun atm? (Red9 as im near the end of Castle Chapter) Think ill have to have a little play, but then again the only values i changed was the PTAS just to be safe so errr yeah i dno :S

dude im at the very beginning lol, just got the game a couple of days ago but havent had time to play it until now XD

I only added support for the original handgun, TMP and shotgun, in this version.

I already beat easy so I will have to wait for Pro mods, Will the finished work for Ada's Side Stories?

It's going to take quite a while to completely finish it, But yes, when it's finished, it will contain a full-flown editor for the game.

Just tested and normal Handgun + PTAS worked :/ i just wanna know why my PTAS won't work alone on my main pro save :S

Because Renegade specifically states which difficulty this does work on, meaning the difficulties affects how it is edited, so it works on Norm atm and not Pro.

If thats true then how come it just worked on a brand new Pro mode save? Fail, Also when he first released he didn't know the difficulty affected it (When i read his description nothing about a certain difficulty was there so i tested it and it works on a new save and not a far ingame one (Which is what im trying to use it on but it won't even let me mod my PTAS).

Nice work on the editor, I'm still checking some stuff out
But if you search for your Active weapon value, it'll be the one before the inventory, a few bytes down you'll see 7? value, depending on what case you have if you change it to 7F, it'll give you the full XL case. But here is the gist of what I've found so far. so the way items work.
the handgun will at first be usually: "23 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 38 00 06 05 00 00" or something similar.
For simplicity, let's say: "gg gg hh hh jj jj kk kk mm mm pp pp rr rr" is a sort of generic item.
'gg gg' is the item modifier. its value determines what item exists.
'hh hh' defines the amount - most often seen with ammo, regular items will use '01 00' unless its a weapon then it defines the tuning IE for chiago typewrite to infinite set to 6666, They go in order each bit, firepower, firing speed, and reload speed, and capacity. 6 is the max value
'jj jj' from what i've seen is the ammo on the xbox for weapons, though the values are off somewhat
'kk kk' not sure
'mm mm' not sure
'pp pp' i believe defines position of the item in the case. somewhat tricky...
and finally, 'rr rr' i believe has to do with the orientation, more in a bit.
A weapon's upgrade level can be hacked following some guidelines...
assuming: "k1k2 k3k4"
k1 is firing speed
k2 is firepower
k3 is capacity
k4 is reload speed
positioning: in the case, (0,0) - the origin - is the top-left-most square.
assuming: "pp1 pp2"
pp1= (width of the item - 1) + 2x
pp2= (height of the item - 1) + 2y
may be revesered
given "0C 07" then, we could assert that the item's top-left-most square is 5 over, and 3 down.
'rr rr' is usually only ever (in decimal): theses value not be right
256 - original orientation
257 - 90* clockwise
258 - 180* cw
259 - 270* cw
260 - flipped original
261 - flipped 90* cw
262 - flipped 180* cw
263 - flipped 270* cw
Also Supremesis, I hexed your save this morning for slot 2 and it corrupted so I'm gonna have to mess with it some more on my dummy profile to figure it out

I registered just so I could say thanks for this editor. Can't wait until you get Pro working. I hope in future versions we can change the difficulty of the saves and change our score on The Mercenaries. I don't really feel like trying to get 60,000 Points on each level with each of the 5 characters, just to unlock 1 weapon. Keep up the good work!

Excellent work Ren, Mojo and Jappi!
Ren if you want to add Rocket Launchers (in the editor) to where you have 255 of them (but you have to re equip them unlike the infinite rocket launcher)
you know how the handgun begins with 23 (in hex)? The rockets begin with 35 then its 00 01 (so it'll be 35 00 01) Same goes for grenades (or any 1 use Items) just gotta fine the value of the item to indicate what is what.

Looking forward to the Code Veronica tool as well. I tried to manually edit hex values but it didn't work out so well and ended up freezing my game. :P

Code veronica is olmost finished :) the adding weapons/items part is finished.
