Derp. Don't fall for the knock-off 360 Wireless Receivers.
Topic.
I bought a Wireless Receiver on eBay to use my 360 controller on PC, but it turns out it was one of those knockoffs that only says "XBOX360" on the device.
As expected, it did not work. Syncing the controllers was impossible. I tried 3 controllers and all 3 did not sync. Tried different computers, everything, and no luck.
So yeah, in short - Only buy the Microsoft products, don't buy the knock-offs unless you like wasting your money like I just did.

Re: Derp. Don't fall for the knock-off 360 Wireless Receivers.
I'd file a dispute to get your money back.
Re: Derp. Don't fall for the knock-off 360 Wireless Receivers.
I fell for it a couple of months back with 3rd party play and charge kits from eBay. The wires were less than 2 feet long and the batteries would not hold charge for more than around 40 minutes at a time but the listing description was the same as the official ones.
Safe to say they were promptly returned to the seller along with a very polite message about the disadvantages about been a slimy little scammer thats rips people off.
As Renegade says, just send them back, you get 45 days from purchase with PayPal to file a dispute should you have any trouble with the seller.

That sucks, hope you get it sorted. I wanted one to play all my emulators but not sure how the N64 games would go with a 360 control.

It should work fine as long as you have the real deal from Microsoft I think. But the cheap knock-offs have a 90% chance of not working properly basically. It seems everyone who's had problems with their receivers have the same knock-off as I have.
And yeah, I'm trying to sort it out with the Seller first, to see if he wants to refund the money, otherwise I'll take it up with Paypal/eBay.
Re: Derp. Don't fall for the knock-off 360 Wireless Receivers.
Welp, seems I have to take it up with Paypal after all.
The seller tries to tell me to install the recent drivers (already did that, and I even told him I already have the latest drivers, blah blah). And seems to completely ignore the fact of me wanting a refund lol.
[Edit]
Someone merge my posts please. Accidentally made a new post instead of editing my old one. :(

PayPal are pretty good when it comes to disputes, you will get your money back and make sure to leave the asshole seller some negative feedback on eBay. A lot of the time just telling the seller that you will leave negative feedback is enough to get them to give you a refund.
Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for the receivers?
Re: Derp. Don't fall for the knock-off 360 Wireless Receivers.
This is why i only pay for thing that i buy Online with PayPal, i can always get my Money back within 40Days if someone tries to screw me over. Hope you get everything sorted out.
