Aurora - Looking for a Developer
Hello everyone!
Here is a little background on Aurora
Aurora is the next generation Xbox 360 All In One modding application that will allow users to modify there Xbox 360 Profile and Gamesaves, read there Storage Devices and make it seem effortless.
Adam and Resigner have been working hard behind the scenes on creating a simple but effective UI and believe we have succeeded but you will have to be the judge of that.
Table of Contents:
1 ---------------------------- About Aurora
2 ---------------------------- Current Tools
3 ---------------------------- Planned Tools

We are currently looking for a developer or two.
We are looking for someone who has knowledge in PPC, fix checksums, and find offsets.
If you are interested in helping please either PM me or post below with what you can do.
Don't be afraid to ask questions either!
Thanks!

Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
I'm assuming this is the AIO app that Adam/Rapidz contacted me before about?
None the less, it's good to see that it's finally taken off and has a visual. However if you are implementing a profile editor into the tool. You're gonna need to make sure it has correct STFS structure otherwise it's gonna screw people over. But keep it up.

Yeah, there will be some. When it's first release it will only be $5 for premium on the site... After a certain amount of time it will go to $10.
Not too sure what tools are premium only yet.
-
Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
i was hoping it would be free.

The program is free.... Some tools are free to use, others are for premium users only. Same thing with Modio and their vip only tools.
-
Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
not to piss off anybody. but, i personally think the programs should be free. and, not have to premium/vip...

I completely agree with that. If you're strapped for cash, get a job. (Use your programming and coding skills to get one.) Sure some people will pay, but only so much and only for so long until eventually, no one wants to pay anymore or no one cares. The economy is still rough out there. I doubt charging people for it will be enough to pay the bills. Even then, it's not a very honorable way to earn a living.
We want our tools to be free.
Be happy with respect, praise, recognition and thanks from the community. You can even make new friends or learn new skills because of it. That's compensation enough.

I probably won't even matter if they make people pay. The program looks nice and all but looks very similar to Xile and has most of the editor Xile had, so to me its a rip but that's what I think. Also when it get released it will probably be like "Eclipse" a good idea at first but after no one wanting to pay for editors that you can get for free it became a useless program.
If they make you pay, then their just like "Horizon and Modio" great at first but after awhile a waste of money. :rolf:

couldnt of said it better myself
-
Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
We are only charging to use some of the tools so we can keep the site up and running, yes it looks like Xile but who cares what a program looks like aslong as the tools work, correct?
Anyway, Those tools that we are planning or already have are some basic ones from memory and we are planning on adding much much more.
But thanks for your comments.

Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
I would say make it free for everyone not to be mean but look at horizon thats far more better then this and yet it has nothing to make you want to buy diamond its a waste of money for what a few exclusive tools which you only may use them once to mod you save and then a few weeks later a free tool gets made and your like why did i not just wait plus if you really do plan on making it so people need to pay i hope you got some really good editors in it but its still going to turn out like horizon brilliant at first then it dies down because they get so much money that they dont even bother creating anymore new tools in it the same thing with modio the free AIOs are far better and get more popular in my opinion but its your creation so you may do as you please good luck and sorry about my grammar

Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
Just a small note. We will not support payed subscriptions for this app on other here. We don't like the idea of having to pay to use something that is simple. The majority of the tools implemented into this tool will be clones of the other and there will always be standalone apps that are free. If you guys intend on trying to sell subscriptions on here. I'm sorry we don't allow that. Our aim at Haven, is to release the best and reliable content free of charge for the community to use. Not once have we asked for payments. To be fair, Fee's for these AIO apps are the reason they always die in the end.

Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
I can agree with almost with everyone else's remarks, besides those who posted in a very dickish attitude. I don't agree with paying for mods either, nor do I want to accept to terms like that. I've been busy with school lately so I haven't done much lately with the program. So I might just quit, I did help with a lot of stuff but i will need to quit due to a lot of things.
Also, if you guys don't follow paid subscriptions then why does this site have premium then?

Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
We don't ask nor force ppl to buy tools we make but we do give them the option to support 360haven.
Thanks to the ads + haven donators + vip members + awesome community, we can finaly afford a dedicated server :)
you say "We are only charging to use some of the tools so we can keep the site up and running"
There are so many other ways to keep the site up and running without asking money for your tools.
Some tips for you!
1. Have a good looking site :)
2. Put some ads on your site, lol.
3. don't ask ppl money for your tools.
4. Try using google more often :)

You may be able to afford a dedicated server, but in turn you irritate people with all the adverts. Adverts are what deter people from actually using a site, take XboxMB for example, they have about 2 ads per page which is not too bad, but you have 6 ads per page.
Ads for a website which is just starting off is A BIG NO NO!

I see no ads, because I'm a VIP/Haven Donator, you should look into it :P

Correction - 8 - 10 ads per page for guest, 4 - 6 ads for junior members, 3 ads for senior members, 0 ads for devs, donators, vip's,etc.
But hey.. what did you expect? everything is free.. cant say about xboxmb or other modding sites lol.

Just starting off? We've been up and running for just over a year now. As far as I've seen we are the best community to this day. We are a team, we contribute, we share.
P.S - The adds are only there for regular users. We have the option to remove these (Which is done via VIP subscription/Donations/Developers/News Team). We don't ask people or make them purchase stuff to keep the site going though.

XboxMB has reasons for people buying Diamond, they have an amazing tool which is the reason why people buy Diamond, I don't see a reason for buying your vip here.

It is to "HELP" support this amazing site, if you don't want to contribute (which you haven't at all yet since being registered since August) then you get to see the awesome ads! Plain and simple...

A reason to buy Diamond? An Amazing tool? You should really look around the site and match the amount of FREE tools that we have, and frequently update for the community to enjoy. We are not competing, but what i will say is. We have large groups of the best modders on this site. This is their home. The fact Horizon has an awesome Storage explorer and such, sure it has a small collection of tools that haven't been released yet. Such as the Gears 3 profile shit. If we really wanted we could provide people with that. As for you not having a reason to buy VIP here, well then you'll never find out the joy of the VIP sections ;) We have had tons of VIP members, not once have i heard them ask for a refund. Now if you're done bitching about XBoxMB and Horizon, can we get back on topic? This is not our thread to hijack, these kind fella's are looking for some people to help them with their tool. If you don't like it, then go to XboxMB or Se7enShits wherever you want to be. Go.

Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
Can't wait to buy VIP :D and donate
OT: like other people are saying to make it free I understand that you would need money to keep te site going but you would need some pretty amazing tools that other AIO's would not have so people would buy "premium, gold, diamond, VIP whatever your going to call it" I didn't post this to rant on your tool for I am actually more jealous then talking shit since I wish I could make tools :P
Other than that nice tool and hope it goes well :)
EDIT: sorry for bad spelling I'm on my IPhone at school :P

Then stay at xboxmb and stop complaining about this site seriously everything on here is free and donating is a way of showing appreciation to this wonderful site look at horizon you pay for a few tools which would most probably be FREE on here within a few days or longer and another thing when was horizons last update ? its garbage who pays for something that does not get updated with tools that are requested from the members if you take your time to look around on here you will see that tools are being made before the release of the game and not one member is asking for money in return they ask for a thanks to show how grateful you are look at jappi88 he has done wonders for members on here and on xboxmb what does that tell you ?
-
Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
You guys are taking this out of context. The tool itself is 100% free.... I'm not even sure if we are going to have tools that you have to pay for to gain access to, I'm just assuming we are. We are not stupid, we wouldn't charge for a tool that's already free. We are fully aware of those tools. Also, sites like xboxmb charge a MONTHLY price just to use some of their tools, if we would to have something like this it would be a one time fee. Same goes for Modio, they have VIP only tools too. We have a site and purchasing Premium isn't just bought just to have access to tools, you get things on the site as well. We are not trying to "rip" other tools at all, we are fully aware of this. We just have to wait and see what can come of this, I'm only here to find someone to help out, NOT to advertise VIP, which I did not.
Can we please get back on topic and please only post if you are interested in joining the team? Thanks :) (I don't mean that in a bad way)

The sucks to bad no one join them cuz it really looked like a promising tool.

Re: Aurora - Looking for a Developer
Actually we stopped making this for multiple reasons including:
- Website wasn't taking off and we didn't want people joining just for the tool
- I was busy with school and such
- Lack of developers was one reason
- The list goes on...
It would be nice to continue this project but unfortunately with college starting soon so I won't have time to work on it. I may start making single tools but that depends on what games I get and how interesting they are to me.
