Nintendo backs off from SOPA support
Attachment 4687
Nintendo has quietly distanced itself from the controversial Stop Online Piract Act which is known as SOPA.
Quote:
Nintendo originally endorsed the bill as of November but have quietly removed themselves from the list sometime in the past month.
EA has also backed away from the proposed bill.
Re: Nintendo backs off from SOPA support
That was quick...Nintendo doesn't want any trouble :D.
Re: Nintendo backs off from SOPA support
Can't fault them really, I wouldn't want to get caught up in the middle of that either. Especially if this drags out for a while, they've got the Wii U launch to think about
Re: Nintendo backs off from SOPA support
well its probably for the best, now Nintendo can focus on Wii U and gameplay lol
Re: Nintendo backs off from SOPA support
As long as the Entertainment Software Association still supports SOPA, it thereby means that Microsoft Corp., EA, Nintendo, Square-Enix, and other game companies on this list: http://www.theesa.com/about/members.asp are still partially supporting SOPA.
So even though they might withdraw support publicly, they're still supporting it from the shadows.
