Now the computer i am using is from 2000 and is only 60gb with maybe 1 gb of ram should i purchase this laptop and is windows 7 a good running system? Also this is only inside not for travelling so battery life is not that much a big deal

its kinda pricey too me lol, but yeah it will be alright also Windows 7 is a good OS better than Vista, as for lasting 15 years it just depends, there are so many factors on how long a laptop will last like user usage, hardware, software, etc. Also there will always be something newer as soon as you buy it lol.

it'll last for a few years (no where near 15 maybe 5 max) but for that price you could easily build a far superior system. Even if you get a shop to assemble it, it would still work out cheaper and better
