Square Enix opts for a stealthy retail strategy
Square Enix has revealed the box art for Hitman: Absolution, opting for the “crouching against a blood-red wall while duel wielding” approach, which is all the rage with assassins these days. Or so we assume, anyways. Check it out above.
This final image is similar to the sample cover we selected from Square Enix's marketing survey last year. The only difference appears to be that Agent 47 replaced his tie and has adopted a stealthier pose.
Speaking of style, Hitman: Absolution is being built using IO Interactive's Glacier 2 engine, which has afforded IO the opportunity to give Agent 47 an upgraded look and a few new tricks.
“It's an entirely new technology – an in-house technology – which gave us a lot of possibilities of developing new technologies alongside the creative ambitions that we had for the project,” said IO in an interview with OXM.
IO's Interactive's Roberto Machese also noted the game will be more accessibly for first-time players, but retain the hardcore modes and challenge for seasoned veterans.
