    Resident Evil ORC Models/Character swap

    How to play lay as Leon, Hunk, Jill...
    1. You will need a Hex edit program
    2. Go to dlc/pack1/characters and find a file "characters.swb2" (make sure to keep a backup)
    3 Open the characters.swb2 with the Hex editor and if for example you want to change {Lupo with Carlos} first type to find the text string Carlosoliviera.ssg

    4. Select the line with the adress for the Carlos model but start from the 00 hex values and finish again the selection again with all the 00 like the picture (make sure to copy the Hex values and not the text string)
    5. Now search now for Lupo.ssg in text string, again select the adress for Lupo model and make sure to start from 00 hex values the and finish with all the 00 hex values.

    and now paste and replace the hex with Carlos model.
    6. Search again for Lupo.ssg and replace the value again with Carlos values (you need to replace the 2 first model adress because the first adress is for the playable character and the second is for the ai bot)
    7. Do the same and find Carlosoliviera.edgemolel, select and copy again the adress from the 00 hex and finish with all the 00 values.

    8. Do the same for lupo.edgemodel

    and replace with the Carlosoliviera.edgemolel hex values.
    9. Search again for lupo.edgemodel and the replace it again with Carlos edgemodel value (like i said above you need again to replace the 2 first model adress because the first adress is for the playable character and the second is for the ai bot model)
    10.Save it and you are done.
    Now you will have Carlos character for Lupo and it works fine with the default xex and the new TU

    TIP:Every model adress line (ClaireRedfield.ssg and ClaireRedfield.edgemodel for ex) have three results in the characters.swb2, you need to replace only the two first adress lines you will find (the first is for the playable model, the second is for the ai bot model or it will be invisible in the game and the third/last is info about the character and if you replace this model adress you will have a fatal crash error) so every time you search for a character model adress to replace go to the top of the hex editor and just make a click and than search for the model.

    ADA WONG
    adawong.ssg = Ada Wong's model & textures used in Mission 6 of USS, and used in Heros Mode.
    adawong-hr.ssg = Ada's Cut-scene Model. HR Stands for High Resolution.

    BELTWAY
    beltway.ssg = Beltway's In-game Model & textures, default clothing
    beltway-hr.ssg = Beltways Cutscene Model & Texture, default clothing
    beltwayv1.ssg = Beltways In-game model & textures, DLC Clothing.
    beltwayv1-hr.ssg = Beltways Cutscene Model & Texture, DLC clothing.

    BERTHA
    berthamale.ssg = Bertha's In-game model & textures, default clothing

    modelinfos.ssg = Has a folder per character in it, all with tiny 2KB .edgemodel files..no idea what this is for.
    characters.swb2 = While this is not a SSG file, it's still clearly related to characters, but I have no idea what it does.

    Each enemy also has a [enemyname]-HR.ssg, this is there cutscene archives, so I won't bother posting them all here, it's basic knock-ledge.
    ZOMBIES
    zb_f_long_sleeves = Female Zombie, Long Sleeve shirt. Model & Textures
    zb_f_nurse.ssg = Female Zombie, Nurse Outfit. Model & Textures
    zb_f_skinny.ssg = Female Zombie, Skinny, Model & Textures
    zb_f_tshirt.ssg = Female Zombie, T-Shirt, Model & textures
    zb_m_buisiness_suit.ssg = Male Zombie, Business, Model & Textures
    zb_m_doctor.ssg = Male Zombie, Doctor used in Hospital, Model & Textures
    zb_m_labcoat.ssg = Male Zombie, Labcoat zombies used in Lab, model & textures
    zb_m_malebig.ssg = Male Zombie, Fat Zombie, Model & Textures
    zb_m_police.ssg = Male Zombie, RPD Police Zombie, Model & Textures

    LICKER
    licker.ssg = Licker's model & textures

    BOSSES
    gbirkin.ssg = G.Virus Birkin, His real name is William Birkin, but this is his Mutated Models & Textures state, you never see him in-game as basic human form, there-for they never made a human form model & textures for it.
    nemesis.ssg = Nemesis's model & textures, USS Mission 4, Nemesis Mode (360 VS)
    nicholaiginovaef.ssg = Nicholai's in-game model & textures, USS Mission 3 Boss.
    tyrant.ssg = Tyrant used in USS Mission 6, model & textures.
    parasitetyrant.ssg = ?? The file size isn't that large, so, it's probably leftovers from a scrapped idea.
    supertyrant.ssg = Super Tyrant eh? Not used in USS Missions, from the look of the model, it's a mutated Tyrant with extra legs grown out from the heart of the Tyrant, pretty large files, probably a boss used in Spec Ops missions.

    PARASITES
    parasite.ssg = Parasite's in-game model & textures

    SWAT Spec Ops
    specops(1-6).ssg = All 6 are different models & textures, for different SWAT Spec Ops enemy looks.
    spt.ssg = Looks like just another generic SWAP Spec Ops solider. Model & Textures
    ubcs.ssg = Just looks like another generic Swat SPEC Ops solider..not sure why it's named like that. Model & textures

    ZOMBIE DOGS
    zombiedoga,b,c.ssg = There is 3 different archives, all 3 different types of Zombie Dogs & textures.

    OTHERS/MISC
    uss.ssg = Looks like that dude from USS Mission 1 that is with Hunk later in the stage. Model & textures.

    what is the dlc required to do this? I tried with Echo Six Expansion pack 1 but it did not work; the "characters.swb2" file did not contain any string like "Carlosoliviera.ssg" or similar one.

    Just updated the tutorial and upload a second character swap
    You don't need a dlc file, only if you want to swap the alt USS skins you will need the dlc to unlock them.
    I added in the tutorial a spoiler with the correct characters/models names so you can find them. For ex to find Carlos search CarlosOliveria.ssg. in the characters.swb2 ;)

    I still don't get what i have to edit. Where do i have to look for that file? In the RE ORC folder i have only:
    - save game
    - game installed file
    - DLC files

    I found dlc/packx/characters (x stand for 1, 2, 3, 4) directory only in Echo Six Expansion pack 1 and 2 and nemesis mission, but than the "characters.swb2" file is very different from the one you uploaded. I did not found strings like "Carlosoliveira.ssg". Where do i have to look for that file?

    The tutorial is for jtag rip not for the pc version of REORC in case of misunderstanding (it also works for the pc but the file and values are different if you try to mod it) so if you try to mod the jtag version go to the folder you rip the game and go to the subfoler dlc/pack1/characters and you will find the file characters.swb2 to edit. Again just in case to make it more simple, there is a subfolder inside the game with the name dlc (so don't try to find characters.swb2 in a downloadable contest file with le fluffie or Horizon) ;)

    yeah, i was trying to mod some dlc file ^^" too bad i don't have a jtag. I would really use ada, leon, ecc... as main characters.
