No female lead in Assassin's Creed III because American Revolution was "a man's world

According to Ubisoft creative director Alex Hutchinson, the reason that the lead character in Assassin's Creed 3 is male is due to the setting of the game, and that the American Revolution "is the history of men".

Hutchinson stated that while having a female Assassin as the lead was "always up in the air" and that "lots of people want it," the period of time made it too difficult.

"There are a few people, like John Adams’ wife," said Hutchinson, "They tried very hard in the TV series to not make it look like a bunch of dudes, but it really is a bunch of dudes.”

Of course, the Assassin's Creed games have taken it a little fast and loose with history, but Hutchinson pointed out another barrier.

“It felt like, if you had all these men in every scene and (a female assassin is) secretly, stealthily in crowds of dudes, it starts to feel kind of wrong. People would stop believing it," though Altair and Ezio regularly walked around with an arsenal of weapons and armor and still didn't seem to stand out.

The 'woman in a man's world' theme has also been mined by videogames as well, such as the original No One Lives Forever.

Assassin's Creed 3 will be released in October 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Damn lol I hope not if anything just give the player the option to select male or female if that's what they intend to do...but it has always been a male it makes no sense to change it now...Nice share Judd.
