No, I wasn't able to do anything, that alert/error window just immediately pops back up. if I hit ok or hit escape or try to kill it from the task bar, nothing happens, it stays in the dmc4 editor and keeps reloading that alert.

The alert window has focus, and the main program is clickable while the error is up.

One more observation, the DMC1 editor seems to be ok, this alert window pops up once, then goes away if okay is clicked. The DMC2 editor behaves the same way with the endless looping error as the DMC4 editor does.

Easily reproduced on my end by clicking open, then canceling the file browsing window, such as in the event that you couldn't find the right file and canceled out.

Sorry, that error was generated without loading a save. That was generated by hitting load, getting the file browser screen, and then closing the file browsing screen.

I'm still looking for my copy of the game, I'm not the most physically organized person.

oh then those errors are normal... its basically saying that it hasn't detected a file to open/read/write so that appears, so other than that when you find your game and get your saves and open it you shouldn't have any problem :)

I understand the error, my point is, it enters an endless loop, and the only way to get out of it is to kill the program with the task manager.
