Fire Test Drive Unlimited 2 Xbox 360 patch coming in two weeks

Test Drive Unlimited 2 has been marred by game-breaking bugs since it came out earlier this month. Some of the problems in the PS3 version have been corrected via a recently-released patch, and now Xbox 360 gamers have a possible timeframe for when solutions will be released for their console.

According to a tweet from Namco Bandai UK marketing and PR man LeeKirton, the Xbox 360 patch for Test Drive Unlimited 2 should be out and about within two weeks' time. "Issues are being dealt with," continues Kirton's tweet.

Developer Eden Games also gave a heads up on the current status of the Xbox 360 patch, which will reportedly have to undergo internal testing for a couple of days more before they dispatch it to Microsoft for approval.

Improve login process to allow a higher volume of successful connections

Increase online stability across all multiplayer functionality

Address issues related to file corruption

    Enable Club and MyTDULife functionality

    Enable Co-Op races

    Enable weather while offline

Address an issue where players can get a Lancia which has no car data (the patch should prevent this from occurring in the future, and restore players who are currently affected by the issue)

It's worth noting that depending on the results of the QA process, some of the fixes listed above may not go live when the patch is released.

The patch announcement post on the Test Drive Unlimited 2 forum also included a quick update on the status of Test Drive Unlimited 2's various services and features:

    Service Status
Online Play – Online, being monitored closely

    DLC Purchasing – Online

    Pre-Order Code Redemption - Online

    Pre-Order Casino Code Redemption -Online

Getting pre-order cars and Casino in-game - Some users are reporting that their cars don't show up in the Used Car Dealer after the code is redeemed. If this affects you, try playing the game in Offline Mode to see if the cars show up.

Getting pre-order cars and Casino in-game - There is a bug where pre-order cars don't show up in the Used Car dealer if you are online. However, you can play Offline, purchase the car, then sign back on and you'll still have it.

MyTDU2Life - Offline - This is working as designed. TDU2MyLife is dependent on the Club Server.

Clubs - Offline - Scheduled to go live when the next patch is released.

Until the next round of optimizations goes live, you may experience issues with:
    Signing in to online mode

Seeing other players in the world and on the map

Seeing your Friends lists and sending/receiving friend requests

Claiming your pre-order cars and accessing the Casino

Entering multiplayer races and joining friends' sessions

    In-game communications

Issues being investigated once multiplayer issues are resolved:
No Accessory/Avatar Controls (Xbox Wheel) - Xbox wheel users report that they cannot control the accessories or their Avatar if they are using a racing wheel. This will be looked into after the current round of priorities is addressed.

Why didnt they just wait until the game works properly? Now their reputation is tarnished. It seems to become an unhealty habit to release unfinished games and patch them later, I couldn't continue to play Fallout NV due to a save game error for example.

Wow, another 2 weeks before the Game is really working properly? now that's just sad. They should of delayed the Game for a Month and fixed all these Issues before releasing it to the Public. The Only way i can see them making up for it is by releasing tons of free worth while DLC (Downloadable Content).

Ditto that on fallout God Damn Strip glitch on both xbox and PC.

but it is sad, Publishers have to got to stop this rushing there have been forcing as of late.

We need the the equivalent to the old Nintendo Seal of Approval, to force games to be complete before public release
