I tried the Historic Society save but it does not allow me to continue I am not sure how to use that save. Any help please.

Well not sure what more I can say, the E ending save works for me but I didn't want to use it until I get the collectible one first.
I know how to resign the saves and did do it, I will try again and try a different resigner.
