Just update to 3.55OFW on your system, you can find the PUP file somwhere, I think someone has posted a tutorial with the KMEAW CFW in the PS3 Tutorial section. If not, you can PM me your MSN/AIM and i'll guide you through it.

Not really any way to prevent it, Just theories such as using a "3.56 spoofer" etc.
