i really love this editor it rocks so hard even for DAO 1 but for some reason everything in the editor for DAO 1 seems to be working....except for the attribute, skill point, talent/magic points and specialization points (as far as i know) when your character actually has some of these points you can edit them but when save it and open again either on in the game or in the editor the changes for those listed specs DO NOT SAVE they are reset to what ever they were before u edited them. so does anyone know how to hex those points if so could u let me know or direct me to a tutorial plz![]()

Thanks for the great editor I love being able to create a powerful character at the start of DAO
One thing I've noticed from editing DAO saves, is that it seems really picky which ones it will load. I made a new character started the game and went to edit it, and got an error, so I deleted the character made the exact same one again and it worked. One other thing for Origins is that the stats for the weapon/armor effects jump up to some really crazy number, even if you never touch them in the editor. Works great though for editing the base stats like HP etc. since I usually just hex edit my weapons anyways.
Having exactly the same kind of problems as a lot of other people. It's as if the game chooses when it wants to load the edited files or not. I've tried not editing many values, but it still corrupts. Other times, I can edit my entire team, and their equipment, and be absolutely fine. Namely, the first time I entered the Deep Roads (that's okay to say now right? I don't think that's too much of a spoiler) editor was working fine before, as soon as I get into the deep roads and that massive rock dude starts kicking my ass, I try to edit my save, and it keeps shoving the "save data is corrupted" message in my face. Fantastic editor though when it works. :)
Interestingly enough I am not having problems with my saves getting corrupted, my edited saves load each and every time.
I extract my saved game file from my USB drive using Horizon, I make the edits I want and save them. I then rehash/resign using Horizon and inject the file back onto the USB drive. Works every time.
My problems are of a different nature.
My biggest problem is with editing companion rep. I tried setting Fenris to Rival and everyone else to friendly. The result was everyone was friendly with the exception of Merril and Sebastian both of which remained unaffected.
An observation on the reputation editor part, if you are trying for the achievements you can't move the slider all the way over. For some reason the achievement doesn't register but the game still locks your bar so you dont gain any more friend/rival points. Your best bet is to move the slider almost to the end, and then earn the last few rep points.
My second problem is with the equipment editor, I really like the look of the dalish dagger, also the model for another dagger later in the game I am to understand, I try to add some effects to the dagger and sometimes some of them work, sometimes it makes the daggers do zero dmg, sometimes it adds the wrong effect. The dagger has 4 slots in the editor and I am trying to add increase with level up, two rune slots, and increased crit damage. All I really want are the weapons from the rogue prologue, daggers should come in matching sets.
First off I would just like to say this editor seems awesome. Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it at all yet.
I am using http://www.amazon.com/Transfer-Xbox-.../dp/B000G02KGG + a normal 360 memory card to pull saves from my 360 to my computer.
I am able to get the saves via "copy" on the xbox and move them to the computer and back to the xbox w/o changing anything in the editor and the save works just fine.
I have tested to make sure it wasn't the transfer kit, memory card, and horizon that are causing my issue.
I put the save on my desktop, open it with the Firstblight editor. Everything is fine until I actually save and then the file size goes from 5.54mb to 600 something kb.
Once the file size has changed I can't inject it back in to my memory card via horizon. I get some error saying something like "file size either too large or too small".
I am very new to this so there is almost definitely something that I am not doing correctly, I just don't know what.
As far as what I have read here and on other forums people have issues with rehashing/resigning but I can't get to that point as the actual file size is shrunk once I use the editor.
Something else is I have downloaded both available versions here in the thread and I get the same issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I have no idea if this makes any difference but I thought I should throw it in here. In the game I am at the point where you get done with the mercenary stuff and now I am trying to go with dwarfs. I have the dwarf guy with the necklace in my party at the moment.
