ISO on non Flashed xbox?

I do not have a flashed xbox, but my roommate does, anyway he burnt a copy of far cry 3, and somehow when i tried running it on my xbox 360, it said mixed media disc for about 30 seconds the said far cry 3, and it worked, is this normal or just a glitch? if curious about it i can upload a vid of it, but main question is, is it possible to play burnt games without a flashed xbox, or is it somekind of glitch?

No you can not play burned games on a non flashed drive. Has to be flashed to play them.

your xbox is definitely modded in some way..did you buy it used?

Last I heard, it's still possible top play burned games if they're installed via hotswap with a retail copy. There used to be a glitch where you could press the eject button on the console and the "info" button on your controller (used to be "Y", but I think now it's "X"), but I think they fixed that.

But I'm inclined to go with drizzy on this one. If you just stuck the disc into your DVD drive and it just booted up like normal (even after so many seconds), then it has to be modded in some way. I've never heard of an burned disc playing on a unmodded console.

i bought it used from gamestop, but it sems like a normal console :/
