Anyone still having issues with the 'Unreadable Disc' error that pops up after editing a save:

The only way I got my save to recover was to edit out the weapons/items I didn't already find in the game. Once that was done and I saved, I replaced the CAREER file with Horizon - saved/rehashed/resigned and was able to continue my progress. It would be awesome to start out with the heavy weapons, but for me every time I edit the save to include the crossbow or any other item that I haven't already acquired through the normal progress of the game, I get the unreadable disc message or can't pick up an item that I don't already have and the status says full (ex: grenade - I see one but can't pick it up after using the editor to add to my inventory before actually finding it ingame).

I'm using an Xkey to play the image from an external hdd so the unreadable disc error isn't something going on with the disc or image. For me it seems to be happening only when I add something I haven't already found ingame. Once I eliminate those 'unfound' items, I can continue the story even on a 'bad' savegame. Weird but I'll take it.

The editor is still far better than playing the game the regular way. Excellent job so far, I'll stay tuned to see how far it progresses. If all else fails I just run to a safe spot and tear into one of the 999,000 MREs to restore my energy before unloading with the shotgun. This editor makes a somewhat unimpressive game actually worth playing through...Idlehands88 - you da man!!!



*****Update:

I was finally able to add grenades to get around not being able to pick them up. I added 5 grenades to my inventory after the next checkpoint. This allowed them to show up in the inventory and the next edit I added 999,999 grenades to the slot. Swapping weapons like the silenced rifle in place of the regular bolt action rifle slot and the semi-auto shotgun in place of the double barrel shotgun worked without having to find them ingame. Lots of fun picking them off from a distance without giving away my position.
