I wrote a class for this game, and I had it swapping items without any problems. I think the game freaks out when you have to much ammo inside your clip. I will be testing it out some more to make sure that was the problem, and if it was I will re-add the swapping feature.

I got some good new, and I got some bad news. The game has maxAmmo amounts for each weapon, if you have more then that max the game will crash. So the good news is that we can swap any item without the game crashing. The bad news is that we have to abide by the maxAmmo amount for each weapon. Really the only bad thing about it is having to reload the guns all the time. You will have to add each weapon, for example you can add the Crossbow, and then add the ammo for the weapon. The ammo can be modded to a big number without the game crashing, so as long as you include the ammo you will be fine.
