"We've settled amicably," says game studio's lawyer
A $100m dance game lawsuit brought against pop star Beyonce has been settled, the New York Post reports.
In April 2011, New York firm Gate Five sued Beyonce for allegedly breaching a licensing deal by walking away from a commitment to make a dance video game after making an "extortionate demand for entirely new compensation terms".
The studio said the game - which was planned for motion peripherals such as Kinect, Move and Wii - would've made over £100m and had already cost $6m at the time of Beyonce's walkout.
Gat Five labelled the star's conduct "a bad faith breach of contract so callous that, on what appeared to be a whim, she destroyed Gate Five's business and drove 70 people into unemployment, the week before Christmas".
Beyonce argued that she was entitled to walk away from the motion-sensing game, which was set to be named Starpower: Beyonce, because Gate Five hadn't obtained a necessary $5 million financing commitment.
Lawyers for the singer and Gate Five have now signed an agreement dismissing "all claims or counterclaims" without attorneys' fees.
Gate Five's lawyer, Peter Gallagher, said. "We've settled amicably. I can't discuss the terms of the settlement, but it was resolved."
