2K sports extends NBA deal

2K Sports today announced it has extended its deal with the National Basketball Association, signing a new, multi-year agreement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The latest basketball title from 2K Sports, NBA 2K11, has shipped over five million copies worldwide since release last October. "We're confident that our renewed partnership with the NBA will extend the unparalleled success of this franchise," said Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, the parent company of 2K Sports.

2K Sports said the continued partnership will allow the publisher to explore new NBA licensed gaming opportunities, including "online and social media platforms."
