I would have to go for the Sega Megadrive and Nintends SNES, both these systems had a huge catalogue of great games which I still play to this day.

Playstation and Dreamcast were great... Nothing really beats Megaman X 4-6, and Power Stone is still today one of the most solid and fun fighting games I've ever played. Speaking of, we really need a Power Stone 3. Like, really bad.

Gotta be the Sega MegaDrive (Sega Genesis to Americans)
Loved that as a kid and still do now.

I think think Sega made some GREAT systems. But they had terrible timing in everything. The Dreamcast was one of the best systems they had, in my opinion. The controller took a little getting used to, but everything else seemed so....awesome, I guess.
But as for what my personal favorite old school system, I'd have to stick with the SNES. That system just had so many classics on it, that nothing compares. I STILL go back and play a few games on it. FFIII, Link to the past, Tetris Attack, Super Mario World....How could anything else compete?!

NES =/= N64
PlayStation
