Just out of curiosity, since we can't add bytes, but there are items that clearly exceed the affix count most of us are capable of, can you edit a byte heavy weapon or armor with the affixes you desire?

so all you need to do is make a toon with a rediculas long nam like -aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaa- then replace the name bytes with the weapon code and stats and it works?
I've looked into this. For example, the 41k azurewrath circulating the web has 32 effect ID's (in the hex code). Looking for the hex of 32 or 32 that's been D3 value converted has yielded nothing. Same for other items.
I've also looked for a number representing the amount of bytes that an item consists of, not apparent, though the health potion has a number like this.
...
Some of my findings (notes):
This string "6A 23 0A 08 08 01" occurring just after the max durability for an item always connotates that the item is socketed and (as I haven't looked into otherwise) has no empty sockets. After the initial item there will be codes for twice as many gems as are socketed!

iN HEROES.IDX:
20 78 28 xx 30 80 - Identifies Paragon level (paragon 100 = c8 01)
I think this is just for display, I suggest editing ACCOUNT.DAT before changing this.

And to quickly find what hero is equipped with what look after the class ID to 38 or 38 0A 05 byte ID and there will be strings of 0D or 0A 05 0D's with a 4 byte item code. The 50 byte ID terminates them, which itself I think ID's the hero file name.
In the hero file there will be the same list of 0D (0A 05 0D) codes, again signaled by 38.

Do you have to add bytes to make a characters name longer, or take away bytes to make it shorter?
