    Re: Best Game I may have missed

    In my opinion, the best games that you might have missed are gonna be the hardest ones to find. Tales of Vesperia, Armored Core For Answer, Tenchu Z, Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast 2, etc. All of them are diamonds in the rough.

    Thank you all for list all these great titles,

    Of all listed I never considered "Tales of Vesperia, Armored Core For Answer, Tenchu Z, Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast 2" among the rest.

    Tales of Vesperia is still easy to find where I live, goes for $19.99 everywhere. Hardest and almost impossible ones to find are Last Remnant, Resonance of Fate, Operation Darkness, Magna Carta 2 and a couple of others.

    If anyone's willing to lend me their spare time and mod a couple of saves for me, I have a couple of requests.

    To be perfectly honest, most people wouldn't have. They're niche games that didn't get a whole lot of attention, hardly triple-A titles (after all if they were then they wouldn't have been missed). There's a good side and a bad side to that: the good side is that they are completely unique experiences that you'll never have in any other game, but the bad side is that they make up for it by making said experience really intense and thus often off-turning to most players that don't know what they're in for.

    Tales of Vesperia is a JRPG but doesn't feel like Final Fantasy, Armored Core is a giant mecha simulator but doesn't feel like Gundam, Tenchu is a ninja-themed stealth platformer but doesn't feel like Metal Gear Solid or Naruto, and Raging Blast is a full 3D fighter but doesn't feel like Tekken. These are games that were largely ignored mostly because they were different from what reviewers expected them to be (ie they didn't feel like the huge triple-A titles). They aren't bad games though, just different. For instance, Dark Souls is a unique one-of-a-kind experience, but it was nothing like, say, Oblivion or Dragon Age. Imagine if Dark Souls got counted off for what it isn't and not for what it is. (Also, Dark Souls was made by FromSoftware, who also made the Armored Core and Tenchu games.)

    Approach them as you would a game like CoD or GTA, expecting to just already know how to play them before even picking them up because you've played so many like them before, and I promise you'll regret the purchase. But approach them expecting something different than you've ever played (something that might make you work to relearn how to play) and you just might like them. Granted, if you have the right mindset when playing and still hate them, then that's you. I can't tell you which games to like, after all. But if you can take that mindset and are up for a new experience, those games will definitely be worth checking out (though I guess I'd rather go with Raging Blast 1 for the second game's lack of a story mode). ^-^;

    I can't find ToV for crap where I live, and even then it's something like $30. I just went ahead and downloaded it over Xbox Live for $20 so I could be done with it.

    Last Remnant and Resonance of Fate are both good examples of games that were somewhat panned for not being akin enough to their triple-A competition (personally hate LR but love RoF). Haven't played the other two, but I hear they're extremely good.

    I have last remnant laying around somewhere and could give you. Just don't know about shipping to Canada...

    Its amazing that so many of you also like Lost Odyssey and Star Ocean TLH.

    Just curious if anyone that played Star Ocean TLH liked any of the others in the series? I was so addicted to the Second Story on PS1.

    I swear by the third game ("Till The End of Time") and I think it's simply one of the best JRPGs I've ever played, period. In fact, it was my all-time favorite JRPG until Tales of Vesperia rolled around the corner. The first game was also alright, but it was only released in Japan and the only way to get it in English is illegally.
