I want to show everyone something never seen before," says Spencer
Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Game Studios, has been speaking out on Microsoft's renewed interest in the Japanese market for quite some time. He's promised exclusive Xbox One games for the market before, and during GDC last week he brought it up again, and pointed towards this year's Tokyo Game Show as the time we'll get a more concrete official announcement.
"I'm very excited about the announcement of the release window in Japan," Spencer said after his lengthy fireside chat with Kris Graft, as reported by Famitsu. "A unique exclusive title for Xbox One is going to be released by an awesome Japanese studio." Who could it be? Certain rumours suggest Platinum Games, but it's anyone's guess at this point. The Xbox One is set to launch in Japan, and 25 other regions, this September.
"I'm looking forward to go to Tokyo Game Show this year," he continued, "and I want to show everyone something never seen before. Stay tuned!"Seems like Microsoft have big things planned for this year's conference season. Just this weekend, Spencer revealed that the publisher has already gone over its 90 minute allotted time limit for its E3 conference, and has had to move some items out of the show.
