[Help] Extracting Files - WinRAR - 7zip - CRC error

I'm new to posting here, so I don't know where the best place to post this would be. Apologies if it is in the wrong section.
People on other sites are not being too helpful with this (like telling me to use Google...), so I hope someone here can help.

When I try to extract .rar files with WinRAR I get a CRC failed error and it will either extract only a part of what is supposed to be extracted or nothing at all.
Not quite sure what that is (don't know much about that kind of stuff myself) but I'm getting it on saves and files I'm trying to extract more and more recently.
A couple of example would be the "Riddick Save Set by casinoguy" and the "Metro 2033 1k Save Set by c0ma".
(There are links to those two saves at the bottom of the post).
I used Google (as suggested by another site) and found that some people get it to work by using another computer. So, I downloaded the Riddick Save Set again on another computer and used 7zip to extract it (don't have WinRAR on that computer) and it worked. It still gave the errors like it did on my computer, but it extracted everything and worked. That is the only file I have tried on another computer, but I assume it would work with others as well.
So then I was thinking, maybe it is just WinRAR, and I went and downloaded 7zip to my computer, tried to extract the very same file I did on the other computer and it still gave the the same error WinRAR did and didn't work.
I don't know why it is doing this, but it is getting very annoying and I hope someone here can help me get it fixed.
I really don't want to have to bum off someone to use there computer all the time just to extract files.

The metro 2033 save set is definitely broken it seems one file is corrupted when you try to extract the file, click extract to and then a window will pop up check the box which is titled keep broken files then it should extract but keep in mind the file may still be broken

Alright, thanks for the help bud. Now hopefully I won't run into this problem again.
But is there any way I could try to repair the corrupted file so I could use it?

Not really you can try and fix the achieve but most of the time once something is corrupted it will stay that way, but it won't hurt to try and use some programs to fix the files but then it also depends on what type of file is broken xD
