Hey Jappi, I've been trying to use the editor on some new accounts as my old accounts were corrupted and deleted. What happens is I create my character and get to Majula. I then move the file over to a flash drive and take said flash drive and plug it into the program. I edit my stats and items and whatnot. I then save it and put the save back on the flash drive. It goes back onto the flash drive no problem; however, when I plug the flash drive back into the xbox, Dark Souls II does not recognize that I even have run the game before. I have to go through the terms and conditions again AND there is no save data anywhere. Would appreciate some help with this problem.

Are you choosing the correct storage device? like are you trying to play straight off the flash drive if so you need to choose the flash drive. If you moved it back onto your 360 then you need to choose the harddrive. That is the only thing i can think of why it would be doing that.
Well gang...It's happened, I got SoftBanned.
For those who haven't yet, or are wondering what it is, here ya go: SoftBan is when you can sign into online, see the phantoms of other players but not see any summon signs anywhere. You set yours down but it never shows up for anybody else.
You are stuck offline essentially, and can't do any PVP or Co-Op. To avoid the SoftBan, all you have to do is not use the save editor if you intend to play online. Seems obvious, right? Well I figured, "eh, just don't mod my stats to stupid high levels" I never have before, but still.
I used the mod to make tons of different PVP characters. Different builds, different armors, etc. and never thought I'd get hit because I wasn't being unfair. All my stats were legit, armors were upgraded normally, all the good stuff. The only things I had to point against me were the amount of soft souls I had and the soul items in my inventory. I used climax to bust through Havel Turtles. But apparently EULA says you can be banned for ANYTHING, that doesn't involve you playing the game.
It doesn't matter if you're one of the modders who never was unfair. It doesn't matter if you never touched your stats. Just by adding in items get's you on From's list to ban. Even Jappi's "Legit Calculator" button doesn't matter because if you even change the gender of your character, you will get on From's list to ban. And it's not just that character. It's your entire account. All your characters and future ones made will be banned from PVP and Co-Op.
First off, I want to say that I am part of the "modding/hacking" community. Dark Souls, no matter how you look at it, is about how you, the player, want to play.
For instance: I want to do a 100% playthrough as Havel. I edit in Havels armor, play the game. If I get invaded, so what? My stats are all legit, I fatroll, who cares? Now say that I want to do PVP. I edit my stats to be around SL 150, give myself the armor and weapons I want to use, go into the forest, join the covenant/piss the cat off/red eye orb. In these cases, where the player is still fair, are all fine and dandy. Yes? This is what I did. I agree that players with infinite health, or health way beyond the normal bounds, is unfair BUT! Gravity exists. This is a thing in Dark Souls.
Sure, it may not be easy, but what about Dark Souls was meant to be easy? Is this a game that holds your hand EVER? NO! That's why we love it! Killing a guy with MASSIVE amounts of health just feels good! It shows you can't be beaten even when you can't kill him with damage! Now, low level invading is low (pardon the pun).
From should have had a system in place that users can use to report players like this. Infinite/uber high health/infinite stamina/etc. From would have then only needed to check your stats, see you have Uber health, and there you go. Ban. But this is where they went wrong. They don't have that system. And so people, yes me included, have been banned both with and without good reason, because of things like adding equipment, or altering stats. Things that don't make the game unfair shouldn't be punished. Now, you can argue that such players are bad because they "obviously can't just go through the game and get the stuff they want" but ask yourself: Did you ever want to make a new build or character just for PVP or even for a cosplay run and wish you didn't have to spend hours of your day just to get the items you want only to NOT want to play as that build? Or even if you wanted to play the entire story as a cosplay and NOT be on NG+ (because let's admit it, it's more fun when you feel OP on NG+0). I'm not mad about being soft banned. On the contrary, I feel bad for the people who have been banned for no reason. I'll freely admit I broke EULA, but it was in order for me to want to play the game more. You can call me a modder or hacker or whatever but I feel if more people could play the game in so many different ways, with different builds, then the online would be a lot more...interesting. (good word there) When has anybody seen a full mad warrior in PVP? Once? Maybe twice? How about full Shadow? Even less? Full Catarina? You don't see these kinds of invaders because they take so long to get and aren't good for PVP! I've invaded and been invaded while using all these difficult to acquire armors and was getting messages saying how they were HAPPY to see people using these awesome looking armors! Especially when you base the entire fight around the theme of say, for the shadow armor, using claws and jumping around a lot. Or Catarina with two handing Zweihanders and other great swords and ultra greats? Hell, the Mad warrior uses the DUMB weapons just BECAUSE HE'S MAD! Malformed claw with Porcine shield?! COME AT ME BRO! Glass build with Havels shield and a MAIL BREAKER?! Do it! It add's variety to the game that would otherwise be difficult to obtain and, therefore, rare to see! I've done TONS of stupid builds just to see how they play and if they're fun! Made new friends from just trying to get kills with the special attack for the magma club! Or from Climaxing all over Havels shield from turtles and killing them because I had tons of souls to use for it! And even from hitting an invader ONCE with the malformed claw, running and hiding, and messaging them saying my assassination failed and if they would "please come back tomorrow?" Yes, dick modders will be out there, but for a lot of people, they just want to have a little fun online without the blood, sweat, and tears that a new character brings with it. I think a player based report system would be much better because I know that if I run into a dick hacker, I'd be all OVER that report system because fuck that. Dark Souls is unfair, not straight-up impossible. Killing a boss that has a SHIT TON of armor and does STUPID amounts of damage (ahem....Smelter anyone?)is one thing, but trying to kill a player with 500000000000000000000...(you get the idea) health, and an actual (and I use this term LIGHTLY, OH SO LIGHTLY) "intelligent" person on the other end is just plain bullshit. Any way...that's my opinion. Hate it, like it, love it, but don't just discount what I said. Actually read it and make points that will PROVE why I'm wrong. Anyone can say, "No you're wrong idiot." but only a Dark Souls player will say "but what about...*blankity blankity blank*" Anywho...BAI!

How do you know that you're SoftBanned? I've been hearing similar reports on other platforms, and most people are saying that the servers are having trouble, and that FromSoftware hasn't made any official statements regarding a ban wave.

Yea a friend and I that have been playing dark souls 2 lately have been having some difficulty finding people. try quitting the game and coming back. That usually works for us to at least find each others sign. Unless you have gotten a formal letter saying you are soft banned i wouldnt jump to that conclusion. Could just be a network error. Maybe your NAT type is strict so you can only connect with open NAT people. Or something along those lines. If you were banned from co-op and PVP chances are you wouldnt be able to see phantoms or bloodstains or anything they would just cut your gamertag/psnid from being able to get on their servers.

Steam servers are having an unrelated issue which shouldn't effect XBox/PS3 play. Softbanning is a bit different because you can see bloodstains and player messages as normal but you can't interact with the normal gaming population via invasions, arena, or co-op. I personally have not been hit by this particular banwave so I'm not sure how legit the news is. However, I have a bunch of softbanned accounts from when the system was first implemented and the softban system definitely exists. If it's across multiple platforms, it's definitely some sort of save check so we should be able to figure out what specifically triggers it if in fact this is an update to the softban system and not some strange coincidence with the servers.
