Hey Ren, this has a checksum on the save. I believe it might be similar to another game (doing some testing of my own as well).


EDIT: Figured it out already. It does have the same one. Ren, I'll work with ya on this if you'd like I was able to edit my Custom Hero 3. :)

Sounds good man, I know that there is something else.
When I edit my Hero's stats I have to edit it to 255 then level it up in game then go back and edit again and do the same otherwise it corrupts. It seems like there is another small check if you edit too much it'll corrupt so you have to edit so much, level up in game then go back and edit. (thats after fixing the hash/checksum)

EDIT: ALSO, I'm not sure if the Created Characters stats carry over to Online, if so then I will not be continuing with the Custom Characters Stats, I'll just have to find something else.

EDIT: so far I found out there are 2 separate bytes that change every time you exceed increments of 255. Going to check deeper into it once I can (gotta go for now, lol I'll be around, just away from my system for a while)

man guys i cant wait till you figure out how to do this and get it working. just an FYI. do you think its possible to figure out how to mod your unlocked capsules?

Possibly (Not currently at my system) but we will take a look into it. If anything you will not be able to unlock capsules separately, only all or none (that is depending on the values and offsets we find)

Still gotta figure out if editing Hero Mode stats for your Custom Character will carry over Online or not. If so, I will be stopping that immediately and continuing to try to find other things on the game.

I believe the Hero Mode stats do carry over. I have the game, but I haven't taken my custom character online yet (still leveling up). However, a friend of mine told me he was getting owned online because his custom wasn't leveled up very high. Plus, it would only make sense that way; why bother leveling up the stats of your own character if you can't take it online?

I'm about 80% certain they do transfer. I could be wrong, but I've been told they do. You might try it yourself before going off my word though, because I may be wrong.

EDIT: I for one am really looking forward to this editor. I wouldn't mind hexing the game myself or even helping with research, but checks and/or hashes don't get along with me.
