Yeah, Modio's my personal favorite, though Horizon is extremely useful to have lying around. Anything with a built-in hex editor and rehasher/resigner are great choices for beginners, because those are the things that are absolutely necessary to hack 360 saves (rehashers/resigners especially).

Now, by hacking, do you mean using a save editor program, or manually hacking the save programming yourself (hex editing)?

This thread seems relevant to my current dilemma, but someone said in one of mine that with the current editor you can create a ng save. This implies that you can create a save from scratch and upload it to your game data. I intend on doing this for Dark Souls so what would the ideal program be for me? I would think that manual hex editing is beyond what I am currently capable of doing. I plan on modding stats and equipment. Any other info would be great too... Like how not to get banned if you do this etc... Links are fine with me?

Edit: I went searching for a known editor and found StB. I like this... Simple and sleek. I am still learning though.

It isn't possible to create a save from scratch, even with hex knowledge. That is, unless there's some program that I haven't heard about.

With games that never communicate with the internet, getting banned isn't gonna happen (how would they know you're hacking?). However, if you're playing an online game, the best chance of not getting banned is to hack responsibly and cautiously. There really isn't any sure-fire way to keep from getting banned, just make sure you don't go overboard with your mods, and hope you don't have bad enough luck for it to happen. More often than not, the ones who get banned for hacking are the ones that flaunt it all over Xbox LIVE (usually offering to hack other people's accounts for them), so as long as you stay discrete and responsible, you ought to be okay.

Hex editing may seem difficult at first glance (when I started with Sega Genesis hacking, I felt in over my head), it really isn't that hard if you're willing to take the time to learn it. More than anything, it just means you have to relearn how to count (instead of 1-10, it's now 1-16) and learn how to Ctrl+F (if you don't know already). That's it, basic counting and Ctrl+F. There are a few really nice tutorials as well, like here: http://www.360haven.com/forums/showt...d-Game-Modding.
